Red Lion Looks To Sell Bend Hotel

DENVER, CO -- A national hotel chain could soon be looking for a buyer for its Bend property. According to the Denver Business Journal, Red Lion Hotels Corp wants to concentrate on hotel franchising, not ownership. It's expected to put 11 hotels up for sale in deals that could total $165 to $175 million.

The company released a statement Monday saying, "Franchising business requires less capital to grow, provides higher profit margins and allows it to better leverage the excellent infrastructure and highly skilled employees over a larger franchise base."

The 11 hotels reportedly being put up for sale are in Bend, Salt Lake City, UT, Spokane, Olympia, Pasco, Richland and Port Angeles, WA, Redding, CA and Boise and Post Falls, ID.

Red Lion Hotels Corp sold its entertainment subsidiary, TicketsWest.com, earlier this month, for $6 million.
