(Sandy, OR) -- Officials say the body of a hiker who was swept away in the swollen Sandy River has been recovered. The incident happened around three o'clock yesterday afternoon when a footbridge on a trail to Ramona Falls in Mount Hood National Forest was washed away. The man's body was located and recovered several hours later. Rescue crews also retrieved a number of other hikers who became stranded on the far side of the river after the bridge went out.
