(Portland, OR) -- Police say a man accused of killing a bicyclist in a suspected DUII crash was looking down to eat at the time of the collision. Court records show 21-year-old Nicholas Martinez told police he was looking down to take a bite of his taquito early Sunday morning when he crashed into the unidentified bicyclist near Southeast 79th Avenue and Flavel Street. Martinez also told police he'd been drinking tequila with Sprite with some friends throughout the day heading up to the crash. He was arraigned yesterday on charges of DUII, second-degree manslaughter and reckless driving.
