Saving The Kennedy Center
(Washington, D.C.) -- President Trump appears to want the Kennedy Center demolished. A bipartisan group wants to stop him. Oregon Senator Jeff Merkley put his Protecting Presidential Memorials Act up for a unanimous consent vote Monday night, but it was stopped by Republican Utah Senator Mike Lee. Merkley is continuing work to get it passed in the Senate and House. The bill would prohibit any Congressionally designated memorial honoring a U.S. President from being demolished unless authorized by an act of Congress.
