Oregon Argues Against DOJ Over Ballots

(San Francisco, CA) -- Oregon's Attorney General is arguing against the U.S. Department of Justice's request to keep 20-thousand California ballots out of the General election. A federal judge turned down the DOJ's request on Wednesday, but the Trump Administration filed an emergency appeal. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield argued the Constitution puts states in charge of elections, federal law bars dropping voters from the rolls in the 90 days before an election, courts shouldn't change the rules once voting has started and eligible voters could lose their votes based on a list no one has been able to verify.
