Portland Refugee Service Warns Of Layoffs
Categories: State News
(Portland, OR) -- A provider of refugee services in Portland will be forced to close at the end of the year if the federal government doesn't renew its funding. Morrison Child and Family Services operates a long term group home, as well as an office for home study and post release services. They both rely on funding from the Office of Refugee Resettlement. In a notice to the state, Morrison says it has not received a funding decision. A closure would lead to 73 layoffs in addition to the loss of services.
