Mariners Trade Castillo To White Sox

SPORTS 8-3

MLB:
In what players and fans called ‘shocking’ the Mariners traded away pitcher Luis Castillo to the Chicago White Sox Saturday for a relief pitcher and an outfielder.

Seattle may not be done dealing as pitcher George Kirby is reportedly also on the trading block, as is outfielder Randy Arozarena.

Kirby talked about the rumors after yesterday’s start where he pitched well but got a no-decision in the win after the bullpen blew a lead.

The former all-star says he wants to stay with the Ms.

The trade deadline is at 3 this afternoon.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

The 8 schools playing football this season in the newly formed Pac 12 aren’t holding traditional media days.

The Conference has been releasing video clips of teams working out and practicing along with interviews featuring head coaches.

The Pac-12 is adding an Oregon Jerky as a Founding Partner ahead of the 2026–27 athletic season. The agreement names Forest Grove’s Old Trapper the Official Beef Jerky of the Pac-12 Conference and gives the brand visibility across championship events, live broadcasts, digital platforms, and social media.

NFL:

The Seahawks concluded the first week of training camp Saturday with a session open to fans.

We’ll get a look at how week one went tomorrow when the first episode of the new Hard Knocks season in Seattle debuts on HBO.

WNBA:
