(Dallas, OR) -- Miley Cyrus' date to the MTV Video Music Awards is out on bail after he turned himself in at the Polk County Jail. Sheriff Bob Wolfe says Jesse Helt had a warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation. Helt accepted Cyrus' award for video of the year during last Sunday's ceremony and read a speech that noted problems faced by homeless youth. Helt had been living on the streets of Los Angeles while looking for a job. Polk County officials say he failed to meet as scheduled with his probation officer after pleading guilty and serving time for misdemeanors.
