NFL Draft Tonight

(Chicago, IL)  --  The first round of 2015 NFL Draft takes place tonight from Chicago's Auditorium Theatre.  Several former Oregon Ducks are projected to be selected over the next couple of days.  Heisman-winning quarterback Marcus Mariota projects the highest, and could very well be the top pick in the draft.  Defensive end Arik Armstead and center Hroniss Grasu also are expected to be selected in the first few rounds.

Blazers Eliminated By Grizzlies

(Memphis, TN)  --  After keeping their season alive by taking Game Four, the Blazers fell in Game Five, 99-93 to Memphis.  C.J. McCollum finished with 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting for Portland.  Damian Lillard added 22 points for Portland.  The Blazers were eliminated in the first round after advancing to the Conference semifinals last season.

Ducks Gear Up For Spring Game

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks take to the gridiron Saturday for the team's annual spring game.  The Ducks' coaching staff divided the team into two evenly matched rosters.  The spring game kicks off at 11:00 a.m. from Autzen Stadium, and wraps up UO's 15 practice spring schedule.

Timbers Captain To Play Another Match With T2

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland Timbers captain Will Johnson is expected to play another match with T2 this weekend.  The club takes on the Orange County Blues FC Sunday from Providence Park.  Johnson is recovering from a broken leg, played his first minutes since the injury in T2's 2-0 win at Arizona United SC last Saturday.  The Timbers host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday

Winterhawks Dropped By Rockets

(Portland, OR)  --  The Kelowna Rockets held on to take down the Winterhawks, 3-2.  Chase De Leo and Nicolas Petan lit the lamp for the Winterhawks, as their Western Conference Finals series is now knotted at two games each.  Game Three is tomorrow from Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Blazers Continue Series Tonight In Memphis

(Memphis, TN)  --  After rallying to a Game Four victory Monday night, the Portland Trail Blazers visit the Memphis Grizzlies tonight for the fifth game of a their best-of-seven series.  The Blazers came from behind to stave off elimination with a 99-92 win.  The Grizzlies lead the series 3-1.  Tip from Memphis at 6:30 on KBND

Dolphins' Jordan Suspended For Entire 2015 Season

(Davie, FL)  --  The Miami Dolphins will play the 2015 season without former Oregon Ducks defensive end Dion Jordan.  ESPN reports he is being suspended for the entire year for another violation of the league's drug policy.  The NFL determined that one of Jordan's test samples was diluted, which counts as a failed test.  He does not plan to appeal what is his third suspension in the past year.  The Dolphins selected Jordan with the third-overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft

Mariota Signs Deal With Beats

(Undated)  --  Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota is adding Beats by Dre headphones to his growing list of endorsements.  The company officially welcomed Mariota to the family via Twitter.  It is unknown how much the deal is worth for the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.  Mariota adds Beats to a list of endorsers that includes Nike and Subway.

Ducks Gear Up For Spring Game

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks check off practice number-14 practices today.  The team continues to gear up for their spring game.  UO takes the field at Autzen Stadium on Saturday May 2nd at 11:00 a.m.  The team will be split into equal halves, which will be chosen via draft.

Ducks Center Chandler To Transfer

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon Ducks center Michael Chandler is leaving the basketball program.  He is being granted his release from his scholarship.   Chandler appeared in 19 games for the Ducks this past season, though his participation was extremely limited.  Chandler played in just five of Oregon's final 12 games and never got off the bench during Oregon's two NCAA Tournament games.

Winterhawks Take Series Lead

(Portland, OR)  --  The Winterhawks took a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference Final with a 7-3 win over the Kelowna Rockets at the Moda Center.  Portland score four times on the power-play in the victory.  The 'Hawks will host Game Four at 7:00 tomorrow night.

Blazers Rally In Fourth Quarter To Beat Grizzlies

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers live to see another day as Damian Lillard snapped out his slump in Portland's 99-92 win in Game Four over the Grizzlies at the Moda Center.  Without Memphis guard Mike Conley chasing him around, Lillard poured in 32 points and seven assists.  Conley is out with a facial fracture and it is not known when he will return to action.  The Blazers trailed by ten with just over eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter before turning things around and forcing the series to go back to Memphis for Game Five tomorrow at 3-to-1.

Oregon Athletics Thanks Marcus Mariota

(Eugene, OR)  --  University of Oregon is thanking Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Marcus Mariota.  The school and its athletic program put together a "thank you" video and released before Mariota is expected to selected in the first few picks of the NFL Draft.  He stands as the conference's all-time leader in total touchdowns and the league's single-season leader for passing yards and passing touchdowns.  He staked his claim to a slew of awards including the Walter Camp, Maxwell, Davey O'Brien, Manning and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm.
 

Winterhawks Face Rockets In Game Three Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  The Winterhawks are back home for Game Three of the Western Conference Finals against the Kelowna Rockets tonight at Moda Center.  Portland tied the series at one game apiece on Saturday after dropping Game One on Friday.  Game Four takes place on  tomorrow.

Four-Star Safety Places Oregon In Top Five

(Eugene, OR)  --  Four-star safety Kenney Lyke is placing Oregon in his top five.  The 6-foot-2 defensive back from Illinois tweeted out his list of schools.  Along with the Ducks, Lyke is deciding between Michigan State, Ohio State, Baylor and TCU.

Blazers Look To Avoid Sweep Vs Grizzlies

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers look to avoid a four-game sweep at the hands of the Grizzlies at Moda Center.  It would be their first win over the Grizz this season after dropping all four regular-season meetings.  Portland is coming off a 115-109 loss to Memphis in Game Three on Saturday night.

Thunder Lose To SaberCats

(San Jose, CA)  --  Kyle Rowley tossed for 205 yards and three touchdowns as the Thunder lost to the SaberCats, 64-45, in San Jose on Saturday.  V'Keon Lacey caught eight balls for 77 yards and two scores as Portland fell to 2-and-3 on the year.  The Thunder look to bounce back this Saturday at the Philadelphia Soul.

Timbers Fall To Sounders

(Seattle, WA)  --  Clint Dempsey scored the match's lone goal in the 77th minute as the Timbers lost to the Sounders, 1-nil, at CenturyLink Field.  The defeat drops Portland to 2-3-and-3 on the year.  The Timbers look to bounce back Saturday night at home against the Whitecaps.

Former Oregon QB Darron Thomas Sees Time For Thunder

(San Jose, CA)  --  Former Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas took his first snaps of the season for the Thunder in the fourth quarter of their 64-45 loss to the SaberCats.  Thomas went 4-of-7 for 38 yards and two touchdowns after Portland taking starter Kyle Rowley out.

Thorns Play Red Stars To A Draw

(Lisle, IL)  --  The Thorns rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 draw on the road against the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday.  Christine Sinclair scored her first goal on the year and Mana Shim found the back of the net as Portland moved to 2-0-and-1.  The Thorns are off this week and play host to the Washington Spirit next Saturday.

Timbers Battle Sounders Sunday

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Timbers are back in action Sunday when they square off with the Sounders at CenturyLink Field.  They are going for their third win in four matches after a 1-0 victory at New York City FC last weekend.  Portland comes in at 2-2-and-3 on the year while Seattle is 3-2-and-1.
 

Blazers Host Grizzlies In Game Three Tomorrow

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers will look to avoid going down 3-0 in their first-round series against the Grizzlies tomorrow night from Moda Center.  Portland trails two-games-to-none in the set after a 97-82 loss in Memphis on Wednesday.  Game Four then takes place on Monday.  The Blazers are still looking for their first win over the Grizz after getting swept in the regular-season series.
 

Thunder At SaberCats Tomorrow

(Portland, OR)  --  The Thunder play the second of three straight road games tomorrow when they face the undefeated SaberCats.  Portland enters at 2-and-2 after a 65-47 loss to the Rattlers last weekend.  San Jose is coming off a 20-point victory over the Sharks.

Bjorkstrand Named Western Conference Player Of The Year

(undated)  --  Winterhawks forward Oliver Bjorkstrand has been named the WHL Western Conference Player of the Year.  He led the league with 63 goals and 118 points during the regular season.  Bjorkstrand, along with Eastern Conference Player of the Year Tim McGauley, is now nominated for the Four Broncos Memorial Award.  The winner of the award will be announced on May 6th.

(Kelowna, British Columbia)  --  The Winterhawks and Kelowna Rockets drop the puck tonight in the Western Conference Finals.  The 'Hawks handled the Everett Silvertips in five games to advance in the WHL Playoffs.  Games One and Two are in Kelowna, while Game Three and Four will take place at the Moda Center.

Thorns FC Battles Red Stars Tomorrow

(Lisle, IL)  --  The Portland Thorns FC returns to action tomorrow when it travels to face the Chicago Red Stars.  The Thorns are looking for their third consecutive win to start the year after a 1-0 victory over the Western New York Flash last weekend.  Chicago enters 1-and-0.
 

Blazers Routed By Grizz In Game Two

(Memphis, TN)  --  The Blazers are in a hole in their first-round series against the Grizzlies after losing 97-82 in Game Two at the FedExForum.  LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points on 7-of-20 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds in the loss.  Damian Lillard chipped in 18 points while shooting 5-of-16 from the field.  Portland tries to avoid going down three-games-to-none in Game Three from Moda Center Saturday.

Mariota Signs Endorsement With Subway

(Eugene, OR)  --  Former Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota is adding sandwich giant Subway to his list of endorsements.  The potential top-two pick in next week's 2015 NFL Draft pairs the new deal with the Nike endorsement he signed.  Subway commemorated the marriage by creating a Mariota statue, made completely out of Subway ingredients.

Timbers Captain Johnson Expected To Play Saturday

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland Timbers captain Will Johnson is expected to play in Saturday's T2 contest at Arizona United SC.  Johnson is recovering from a broken leg he suffered on September 27th in a match against Toronto FC.  Both Johnson and midfielder Diego Valeri, who is recovering from a torn ACL, practiced full.  The Timbers visit Seattle On Sunday at CenturyLink Field.

Thunder Visit SaberCats Saturday

(Portland, OR)  --  The Thunder head out for their second of three consecutive away games this Saturday.  The team is traveling to San Jose to face the 4-and-0 SaberCats.  It will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs, and the Thunder are winless in the all-time matchup.  Portland is 2-and-2 after falling to the Arizona Rattlers 65-47 last week.

Ducks' Helfrich Comes To Kelly's Defense

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich is coming to Eagles coach Chip Kelly's defense.  Helfrich tells the "Oregonian" the former Quack Pack head coach "is not insane."   He was the offensive coordinator under Kelly with the Ducks for four seasons.  Helfrich says Kelly has a plan and method to his madness.  Kelly added to a crazy offseason by signing quarterback Tim Tebow to a one-year deal earlier this week.
 

Trail Blazers Try To Even Series With Grizzlies

(Memphis, TN)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers look to even their series with the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in the Western Conference playoffs.  The Grizzlies cruised to a 100-86 Game One victory over the Blazers on Sunday.  Guard Arron Afflalo is questionable with a sore shoulder.  The Blazers are 0-and-5 against the Grizzlies this season.  Tip from Memphis tonight at 5:00.

Ducks Coach Horton, Outfielder Heineman Suspended

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Pac-12 is suspending Oregon baseball coach George Horton and outfielder Scott Heineman for their actions in Sunday's loss to USC.  The two were both thrown out after arguing an eighth-inning Heineman check swing.  Horton is suspended two games for continuing to argue after being ejected.  Heineman will be forced to sit out a game for unsportsmanlike conduct towards an umpire.
 

Timbers Blank New York City FC

(Bronx, NY)  --  Dairon Asprilla scored in the match's lone goal in the 79th minute to give the Timbers a 1-0 win over New York City FC in the Bronx.  Portland improved to 2-2-and-3 on the young season with the victory.  The Timbers return to action this weekend when they head north for a showdown with the Sounders.
 

Blazers Crushed By Grizz In Game One

(Memphis, TN)  --  The Blazers shot just 34-percent and trailed from start to finish in their 100-86 loss to the Grizzlies in Game One of their first round series in Memphis.  LaMarcus Aldridge led all players with 32 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.  Nicolas Batum chipped in 15 points and Damian Lillard scored 14 on 5-of-21 shooting in a losing effort.  Game Two takes place Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. on KBND before the series shifts to Portland Saturday.

Winterhawks Top Silvertips, Advance in WHL Playoffs

(Everett, WA)  --  The Winterhawks are on to their fifth straight Western Conference Final after claiming a 3-2 victory over the Silvertips in Game Five of their semifinal matchup in Everett.  Oliver Bjorkstrand netted a pair of goals and Nic Petan lit the lamp as well.  Adam Hill racked up 31 saves for Portland, which claimed the series four games to one.  The Winterhawks will take on the Kelowna Rockets in the Conference Finals.  Game One is Friday.

Blazers Tip Playoff Series With Grizzlies Sunday

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers tip their Western Conference playoff series on the road Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies.  Despite being a lower seed than Portland, the Grizzlies own home court advantage because they have a better overall record than the Blazers.  The Trail Blazers were 0-and-4 during the 2014-15 campaign against the Grizzlies.  Tip from Memphis Sunday at 5:00.

Oregon OC Rips Dumb Questions About Mariota

(Eugene, OR)  --  Marcus Mariota's former offensive coordinator is ripping those who question the quarterback's competitiveness.  Ducks OC Scott Frost tells the "Oregonian" it's ridiculous to question whether Mariota is too nice to play football.  The former Nebraska QB went on to say Mariota would not have won so many games if he were too nice. 

Winterhawks Top Silvertips In Game Three

(Portland, OR)  --  The Winterhawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead and held on for a 5-3 win over the Silvertips in Game Three of their second round playoff series at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  Nic Petan had a goal and two assists for Portland, which takes a 2-1 series lead.  Aaron Hill made 16 saves in the win.  Game Four is tonight.

Blazers Seeded Fourth After Loss To Dallas

(Dallas, TX)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers will now look ahead to the first round of the NBA Playoffs after last night's loss to Dallas in the regular-season finale.  The fourth-seeded Blazers will face the fifth-seeded Grizzlies in Memphis this Sunday to begin a best-of-seven series.  Game Two is scheduled for Wednesday evening in Memphis, and games Three and Four will be played in Portland on April 25th and 27th, respectively.

Ducks' Armstead To Attend NFL Draft

(Chicago, IL)  --  Quarterback Marcus Mariota may not be attending this months NFL Draft, but former Ducks defensive lineman Arik Armstead will be in Chicago.  Armstead is one-of-26 potential first-round selections that were invited to hear their names called on April 30th.  In three seasons with Oregon, he registered four sacks.

Trail Blazers Finish Regular Season On Road At Dallas

(Dallas, TX)  --  The playoff-bound Portland Trail Blazers wrap up the regular season tonight on the road against the Dallas Mavericks.  The Blazers have lost three straight but have locked up the fourth-seed in the Western Conference playoffs.  The Mavs are 49-and-32 overall.  Portland is 2-and-1 this season against Dallas.  Tip from the Lone Star State at 8:00.
 

Batum 'Out', Aldridge 'Probable' Tonight

(Dallas, TX)  --  Trail Blazers big man LaMarcus Aldridge is probable for tonight's season finale at Dallas.  The team says forward Nicolas Batum is out for the game after an MRI revealed a "contusion" in his right knee.  The test did not show ligament or tendon damage, which means Batum will likely be available for the playoffs.  Aldridge has missed the Blazers' last two games with a sprained left foot.
 

Winterhawks, Silvertips Continue Series Tomorrow

Blazers Battle Thunder

(Oklahoma City, OK)  --  The Trail Blazers are on the road for their final two games of the regular season.  Tonight, they visit the Thunder at Chesapeake Arena before playing the Mavericks in Dallas on Wednesday.  The Blazers have already locked up the Northwest Division.  OKC is 43-and-36 and still fighting for a playoff spot.
 

Thunder Hit The Road

(Phoenix, AZ)   --  The Thunder have their first away game Saturday against the Arizona Rattlers.  At 2-and-1, the Thunder beat the Spokane Shock 47-43 from the Moda Center Friday.  The Rattlers sport a 2-and-1 record as well.  This game is the first of three straight road dates for Portland.
 

Timbers Blanked By Orlando City

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers were done in by expansion Orlando City SC 2-0 at Providence Park.  Kaka notched a goal for Orlando, as did SuperDraft top overall pick Cyle Larin.  Goalie Adam Kwarasey made one save in the loss as Portland fell to 1-2-and-3 on the season.  The Timbers managed four shots on goal in the loss.  They'll face New York City FC next week at Yankee Stadium.

Beavers Quarterback Del Rio Transferring

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State quarterback Luke Del Rio is transferring again.  The son of Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is transferring from the Beavers after one season with the team.  He came to OSU from Alabama in 2014.  Del Rio completed 8-of-18 passes for 141 yards in three games as a redshirt freshman.

Winterhawks Visit Everett In Second Round

(Everett, WA)  --  The Portland Winterhawks visit the Everett Silvertips in the second round of the playoffs tonight.  The 'Hawks defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds in six games to advance.  Games Three and Four are slated to take place at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  Puck drops from Everett tonight at 7:35.

Blazers Cruise Past T-Wolves

(Portland, OR)  --  LaMarcus Aldridge paced a balanced attack with 24 points and 13 rebounds as the Blazers rolled past the Timberwolves, 116-91, at Moda Center.  Robin Lopez chipped in 18 points and Damian Lillard scored 17 and dished out six assists in the victory.  Portland has won seven of eight and now sits two games behind second-seeded Memphis and third-seeded Houston.  The Blazers are back on the road tonight against the Golden State Warriors.
 

Timbers Seek Second Victory Sunday

(Portland, OR)  --  Coming off their first victory of the season, the Portland Timbers are looking for more when they take on Orlando City SC on Sunday.  Portland defeated FC Dallas 3-1 to pull its record to 1-1-and-3.  Orlando City is 1-2-and-2 overall.  Kickoff from Providence Park set for 2:00 on Sunday.

Mariota Holds Impressive Private Workout

(Eugene, OR)  --  Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota made his case for being the top overall selection in this month's NFL Draft.  Mariota worked out privately for Tampa Bay in Eugene Tuesday, and the Buccaneers' staff came away impressed.  The Heisman Trophy winner threw about 45 passes in a fast-paced session that allowed Mariota to show off his arm strength and footwork.  Tampa Bay brass, including head coach Lovie Smith were on hand to assess and evaluate Mariota.

Trail Blazers Back Home To Host Minnesota

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers are back home at the Moda Center to host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.  Portland fell to the Brooklyn Nets Monday night 106-96, and is 50-and-27 overall.  The T'wolves own the worst record in the Western Conference at 16-and-61.  Tip tonight at 7:00.

Winterhawks Advance To Second Round Of WHL Playoffs

(Kent, WA)  --  The Portland Winterhawks are moving on to the second round of the WHL Playoffs.  Nic Petan scored the winning goal with 59 seconds left in overtime as the Winterhawks beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 5-4 in Game Six of their series in Washington.  Portland is into the second round for a sixth straight season.  The Hawks will face either Everett or Spokane next.

LeSean McCoy: Chip Kelly Doesn't Respect Stars

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  Ex-Eagles running back LeSean McCoy says former head coach Chip Kelly does not respect star players.  McCoy tells the "Philadelphia Inquirer" that is why he and wide receiver DeSean Jackson were both shipped out of Philadelphia.  "Shady" says the former Oregon coach "likes the fact it's Chip Kelly and the Eagles."  The 26-year-old has no bad feelings toward Kelly and has tried to call him twice since he was traded, but he didn't answer.  McCoy was dealt to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for former Ducks linebacker Kiko Alonso earlier this offseason.
 

FC Dallas Coach Hand Timbers' Coach Tissue

(Portland, OR)  --  FC Dallas coach Oscar Pareja did not display good sportsmanship when his team fell to the Timbers on Saturday.  Pareja handed Portland head coach Caleb Porter a tissue following Dallas' first loss of the season.  Porter says he was going to shake his hand, but instead received a tissue.  The Timbers take on Orlando City SC on April 12th.
 

Nets Sink Blazers

(Brooklyn, NY)  --  The Nets took advantage of a shorthanded Trail Blazers team pulling out a 106-96 win at the Barclays Center.  Portland was without LaMarcus Aldridge, Nicolas Batum and Chris Kaman due to rest.  Damian Lillard went off for 36 points as the Blazers two-game winning streak came to an end.  The Blazers are back home to host Minnesota tomorrow.

Ducks Off Practice Today, Back Tomorrow

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks are off the practice field today, but back tomorrow.  The team practiced in full pads Monday, and ran seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills.  Former Ducks QB and Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota was on hand for the practice.  Head coach Mark Helfrich says the Ducks will be installing schemes through about the first 10 practices of the spring.

Blazers Meet Lakers Tonight In LA

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers try and bounce back tonight on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers.  The Blazers had their four-game win streak snapped by the Clippers Wednesday night 126-122.  The Lakers are 20-and-54 overall.  Portland is 3-and-0 this season against LA.  Tip from the STAPLES Center at 7:30.

Timbers Welcome FC Dallas Tomorrow

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers are back on the pitch to host FC Dallas from Providence Park tomorrow.  The Timber are seeking their first victory of the season at 0-1-and-3 overall.  Dallas leads the Western Conference with a 3-0-and-1 record.  Kickoff set for tomorrow at 7:30.
 

Ducks Back To Practice Today

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks are back to the grind today.  The Ducks are back on the practice field after a day off.  UO's schedule the next three weeks is Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and the annual spring game is scheduled for May 2nd at Autzen Stadium.
 

Blazers Edged By Clippers

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers were outscored by 17 points in the fourth quarter en route to a 126-122 loss to the Clippers at Moda Center.  Los Angeles and Portland are currently slated to face each other in the first round of the playoffs in the four-five matchup.  LaMarcus Aldridge put up 29 points and Nicolas Batum scored 21 for the Blazers, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.  Damian Lillard logged a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists in the loss.  Portland hits the road tomorrow to visit the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ducks Off Practice Today, Back Tomorrow

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks are off the practice field today, but back to the grind tomorrow.  The Ducks held back-to-back practices to open up spring ball, but it is the only time the team will practice on consecutive days.  Head coach Mark Helfrich says hey started spring with a better foundation than ever.  The schedule the next three weeks is Monday-Wednesday-Friday, and the annual spring game is scheduled for May 2nd at Autzen Stadium.

Beavers' Gomis To Return For Senior Season

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Daniel Gomis is returning for his senior season for Oregon State basketball.  Gomis met with head coach Wayne Tinkle, and told him his intentions.  The 6-foot-10 junior was hampered by leg injuries last season.  He was able to average 4.3 points and 3.9 rebounds in 30 games for the Beavers this season.

Blazer lose at home

Chris Paul had 41 points and 17 assists as the Clippers rallied
past the Portland Trail Blazers 126-122 on Wednesday night.

Paul appeared to hit Kaman in the groin with his left hand while
grabbing a loose ball rebound. Kaman retaliated by pushing him in
the back and walking away from the fracas.

Glen Davis was about to come to Paul's aid by going after Kaman,
but was sent flying backwards following a LaMarcus Aldridge shove.

Portland led 92-81 prior to the skirmish. The Clippers then went on
a 27-8 run following the incident to seize control of the contest
before holding on in the final minute.

Mariners Send Ramirez To Rays For Montgomery

(Peoria, AZ)  --  Seattle Mariners right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramirez is being traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for southpaw Mike Montgomery.  Ramirez, who's struggled over the past couple of seasons for the Mariners, was unable to win a spot in the starting rotation during spring training.  Montgomery, who was a first-round draft pick for Kansas City in 2008, hasn't yet pitched in the Majors.
