College Football:

Number 19 Oregon State is preparing for the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas Friday against number 16 Notre Dame. The Beavers have another recruit heading to Corvallis. Four star Wide Receiver Jordan Anderson from Newport Beach California had originally committed to Oregon and was also considering San Diego State, but opened up his recruitment in the last couple of weeks. That makes 15 signees for Coach Trent Bray and his staff for the 2024 season.

The number 8 Ducks are heading to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl on January 1st to take on undefeated 23rd ranked Liberty. Meanwhile they’ve landed a couple more players for the 2024 season in the Big 10. Fairfield California four star Defensive Lineman Jericho Johnson and Kansas State Cornerback Kobe Savage announced they’re going to Eugene. The Ducks are already predicted by some experts to make next year’s expanded playoffs.

NFL:

Seattle could actually lock up a playoff spot with a win over Pittsburgh on Sunday, and a tie by Minnesota and Green Bay Sunday night. Barring that unlikely scenario the Seahawks will be trying to clinch a playoff spot in the final weekend of the season. Defensive players Devon Witherspoon, Jamal Adams, and Jordyn Brooks all missed the win over Titans sitting out with injuries. Coach Pete Carrol said on his weekly radio appearance the three players are making progress to get back on the field but he was still uncertain if they would be able to play against the Steelers when they come to Lumen Field on Sunday.

San Francisco can clinch home field advantage in the playoffs by winning the next games against Washington and the Rams. The 49ers have tiebreakers in head to head against the Eagles and Lions. They will have some concerns on their banged up offensive line including Tackle Trent Williams who has a groin injury.

San Francisco started slow in Philadelphia but once they got rolling the Eagles had no answer as Brock Purdy and Deebo Samuel had break out performances in a chippy game that saw ejections and several scuffles. The Seahawks will have their work cut out for them this Sunday as they head to Santa Clara to face the 9ers. It was also announced over the weekend that the Week 15 game against the Eagles will now be on Monday night.
