Washington Comes Back Against Utah

(Seattle, WA)  --  Dylan Morris found Cade Otton for a touchdown with 36 seconds to go as Washington came back to beat Utah 24-21 at Husky Stadium.  The Huskies were down 21-0 before Kamari Pleasant ran in to score in the third quarter.  Morris finished with 272 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.  Washington remains undefeated at 3-and-0 and moves into this week's coaches poll at number-23.

OSU Upsets Oregon

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Chance Nolan rushed for a touchdown with 33 seconds left as Oregon State upset then 11th-ranked Oregon 41-38 in Corvallis.  Tristan Gebbia threw for 263 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score for the Beavers, who improve to 2-and-2.  Tyler Shough threw for 285 yards with two touchdowns and rushed for a score in the setback.  The Ducks suffered their first loss to fall to 3-and-1 and to number-20 in this week's coaches poll.

Chargers Fall In Buffalo

(Orchard Park, NY)  --  Justin Herbert completed 31 of 52 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough for the Chargers in a 27-17 loss to the Bills in Buffalo.  Keenan Allen hauled in the TD pass.  LA back Austin Ekeler accounted for 129 yards from the line of scrimmage after sitting out six games with a hamstring injury.  The Chargers drop to 3-and-8.

49ers Beat Rams On Late FG

(Inglewood, CA)  --  Robbie Gould kicked three field goals, including a 42-yarder as time expired, to lift the Niners to a 23-20 win over the Rams at SoFi Stadium.  Nick Mullens passed for 253 yards for San Francisco, which snapped a three-game skid and improves to 5-and-6.  Javon Kinlaw had a pick-six in the victory.  Chargers quarterback Jared Goff threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.  Troy Hill returned a San Francisco fumble 20 yards for a LA touchdown.  The Chargers fell out of first place in the NFC West with the loss dropping them to 7-and-4.


 

Seahawks At Eagles Tonight

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  The Seahawks are in Philadelphia tonight to take on the Eagles on Monday Night Football.  Seattle is coming off a win over the Cardinals to get to 7-and-3, which puts it alone atop the NFC West after the Rams' loss yesterday.  Russell Wilson will look to improve on his 5-and-0 record against the Eagles and the Seahawks will look to make it a seven-game winning streak against Philly.  The Eagles are 3-6-and-1.

Falcons Rout Raiders In Atlanta

(Atlanta, GA)  --  Derek Carr lost three fumbles and threw an interception in the Raiders'43-6 loss to the Falcons in Atlanta.  Vegas made only 13 first downs and was penalized 11 times for 141 yards.  The Raiders drop to 6-and-5.

Seahawks Hold Off Cardinals

(Seattle, WA)  --  Carlos Hyde had 14 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown as the Seahawks held off the Cardinals to win 28-21 at Lumen Field.  Carlos Dunlap stopped the Cardinals' comeback attempt by sacking Kyler Murray on fourth down with 38 seconds left.  Russell Wilson was 23 of 28 for 197 yards and two touchdowns.  Seattle takes over first in the NFC West at 7-and-3.

Pac-12 Gives Schools Permission To Play Opponents Out Of Their Conference In Order To Fill Canceled Games

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Pac-12  is giving the green light to schools to play opponents outside of their league to fill canceled football games.  On Thursday, the athletic conference made the decision based on a number of games being canceled due to COVID-19.  However, it's not known how many teams will be able to participate in the new guideline depending on their schedules.

Oregon State Hosts Cal Tomorrow

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State will still be in search of its first win when it welcomes Cal to Corvallis tomorrow.  The Beavers are 0-and-2 while the Golden Bears are 0-and-1.  Oregon State will face off with in-state rival Oregon next Saturday.

Oregon Hosts UCLA Tomorrow

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number-13 Oregon will welcome UCLA to Autzen Stadium tomorrow.  The Ducks sit at 2-and-0.  They'll debut their new "Ohana" jerseys this week, which honor Polynesian culture.  They were designed through a collaboration with Nike and Hawaiian label Sig Zane Designs.
 

Raiders, Chiefs In Key Matchup Sunday

(Henderson, NV)  --  The depleted Raiders are trying to get ready for Sunday night's home game against the Chiefs.  Las Vegas is 3-and-0 against division opponents and are the only team to beat the 8-and-1 Chiefs this season.  The Raiders are 6-and-3 and with a win could make it uncomfortable on the Chiefs in the AFC West over the final three week.  Eleven Raiders are currently on the COVID-19 reserve list, including 10 on defense.

Chargers Home Sunday Against Jets

(Inglewood, CA)  --  The Chargers will be home Sunday to entertain the New York Jets at SoFi Stadium.  Rookie LA quarterback Jay Herbert has thrown for more than 23-hundred yards with 19 touchdowns and six interceptions.  The 2-and-7 Chargers have lost three in a row.  The Jets are winless at 0-and-9.

Blazers Select Washington's Stewart

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers selected former Washington forward Isaiah Stewart with the 16th overall pick in the NBA Draft, then traded him to the Pistons.  The trade was part of the deal that sent Trevor Ariza to Houston for Robert Covington.  The Rockets then traded Ariza and the pick to Detroit.  Stewart becomes the 16th Huskies player to be drafted in the first round.

Oregon Hosts UCLA Saturday

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number-13 Oregon will welcome UCLA to Autzen Stadium on Saturday.  Coach Mario Cristobal says the Ducks have focused on correcting turnovers and cleaning up tackling in practice this week.  Oregon is 2-and-0 while the Bruins are 1-and-1.  Also, the Pac-12 has reversed course and is now allowing nonconference opponents after multiple cancelations have already plagued the season.
 

Seahawks Host Cardinals Tonight

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks will welcome the Cardinals to CenturyLink Field tonight on Thursday Night Football.  Seattle will look to bounce back after losing three of its past four games, including to the Cardinals.  The Seahawks are in a three-way tie with the Cards and Rams for first in the NFC West at 6-and-3. Running back Chris Carson is questionable for tonight.

Seth Curry To Have Father-In-Law As Coach

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  Seth Curry will now have his father-in-law as a coach.  The former Trail Blazer was traded last night from the Dallas Mavericks to the Philadelphia 76ers.  The Sixers are now being coached by Doc Rivers, who is the father of Curry's wife.  Seth Curry is the second-best three-point shooter in NBA history.  His older brother Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is a two-time NBA MVP.

NBA Rumors Swirling Ahead Of Draft Night

(Undated)  --  Rumors are swirling ahead of the NBA Draft and free agency involving some of the league's biggest stars.  Reports state James Harden wants out of Houston, while The Athletic reports the Rockets and Wizards have discussed a Russell Westbrook-for-John Wall swap.  The Celtics and Gordon Hayward are reportedly extending the deadline for the forward to make a decision on his 34.2-million-dollar player option.

NBA Draft is Tonight

(Bristol, CT)  --  The NBA Draft is tonight.  The Timberwolves hold the top overall selection in the annual event and Golden State will draft second.  The Hornets will pick third.  Georgia's Anthony Edwards, Memphis' James Wiseman, and LaMelo Ball are the top three prospects in the draft.  The draft is being held virtually at ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.

Blazers' Hood Declines Option

(Portland, OR)  --  Trail Blazers forward Rodney Hood is declining his six-million-dollar player option and will instead become a free agent.  Hood tore his Achilles last December and did not play this past season, but would be able to start with a new team right away after a year of recovery time.  Robert Covington will replace him at forward.
 

Report: NBA Teams Could Begin Practicing Early December; Report By Nov. 30

(Undated)  --  NBA players could be back on the practice court as soon as December 1st.  The Athletic reports players must report to their team's market no later than November 30th to begin COVID-19 testing.  Individual workouts can start December 1st through 5th after players have three negative PCR tests.  Group practices will begin either December 4th or 6th.

NBA To Release First Half, Second Half Schedules

(New York, NY)  --  The NBA will release the 2020-21 schedule in two parts.  The First Half of the season will run from December 22nd through March 4th, with that schedule to be unveiled around the start of training camp on December 1st.  The Second Half slate will be released sometime during the First Half and will include the remainder of the 72-game schedule as well as any feasible makeup games.  That portion will run from March 11th to May 16th.  The All-Star break is March 5th through the 10th.

NBA Draft Starts Tomorrow

(Bristol, CT)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers are gearing up for the NBA virtual draft.  The draft starts tomorrow from ESPN's studios in Bristol, Connecticut.  Selected players will be able to virtually join in.  The Trail Blazers have the 16th overall pick and the 46th overall in the second round.  Portland is reportedly interested in R.J. Hampton, Tyrese Maxey, Saddiq Bey or Precious Achiuwa for its first-round pick.

Washington Hosts Arizona Saturday

(Seattle, WA)  --  Washington will face off with Arizona this Saturday at Husky Stadium.  The Huskies have just one game under their belt after their first game was canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests.  They clipped Oregon State last weekend to start 1-and-0.  The Wildcats are 0-and-1.

NCAA Hoops Tournament To Be Played In Indy

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  The NCAA has announced that the entire 2021 men's basketball tournament will be played in Indianapolis.  Typically, Dayton, Ohio hosts the play-in round with 13 other cities hosting rounds until the Final Four.  The NCAA says it will create an NBA-like bubble instead.  The tournament will begin March 16th and end with the Final Four from April 3-5.

Washington Hosts Oregon State Tomorrow

(Seattle, WA)  --  In college football, Oregon State will visit the University of Washington at Husky Stadium tomorrow.  The Beavers say they have one positive coronavirus test on the team with three others in quarantine.  The game is currently scheduled to go on as planned.  The Huskies had last weekend's game against Cal canceled due to positive tests. 

Oregon Visits Wazzu Tomorrow

(Pullman, WA)  --  Number-12 Oregon will visit Washington State in Pullman tomorrow.  The Ducks blew past Stanford last weekend to get to 1-and-0 and will return home next Saturday to host UCLA.  The Cougars clipped Oregon State in their season opener and will visit the Cardinal next weekend.

Seahawks Visit Rams Sunday

(Inglewood, CA)  --  The Seahawks will visit the Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday in an NFC West battle.  Seattle is 1-and-1 against divisional opponents so far, losing to the Cardinals and beating the 49ers two weeks ago.  Los Angeles is third in the division at 5-and-3, while the 'Hawks are first at 6-and-2.

Oregon Hoops Ranked 20th

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon basketball is ranked 20th in the preseason coaches poll.  The Ducks are coming off their Pac-12 regular-season title but are picked to finish third in the conference this season.  The full schedule has not yet been released.

Casey Leads First Day Of Masters

(Augusta, GA)  --  Paul Casey is atop the Masters leaderboard after the first day with seven-under-par 65 at Augusta National Golf Club.  His 65 is lowest first round score since Charley Hoffman did it in 2017.  Webb Simpson, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas are tied for second at five-under-par.  Tiger Woods shot four-under-par, the first time in 23 Masters appearances he opened without a bogey.  The Masters continues today.

(Inglewood, CA)  --  The Seahawks will play the Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday in an NFC West battle.  Coach Pete Carroll says All-Pro defensive tackle Damon Harrison may make his debut with the Seahawks this weekend.  Carroll also says Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde, Shaquill Griffin and Quinton Dunbar are all questionable.  Seattle is 6-and-2.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Washington will welcome Oregon State to Husky Stadium on Saturday in its season opener.  U-Dub is debuting 'HuskyTron from Home' this weekend, a virtual experience for fans who will be able to livestream during the game.  The Beavers are 0-and-1 after falling to Wazzu last weekend.

Masters Begins Today

(Augusta, GA)  --  The 2020 Masters tees off this morning at Augusta National Golf Club.  Defending Masters champion Tiger Woods will play with reigning Open champion Shane Lowry and Andy Ogletree.  No fans are allowed to attend this year's tournament.

(Pullman, WA)  --  Number-12 Oregon will visit Washington State in Pullman on Saturday.  Ducks coach Mario Cristobal praised quarterback Tyler Shough's performance in last weekend's win, saying it was their best offensive performance against Stanford in recent years.  Nick Rolovich is coming off his first win as the Cougars' head coach.  The team says a player tested positive for COVID-19, but he has isolated and may even be eligible by Saturday.

Masters Begins Tomorrow

(Augusta, GA)  --  The 2020 Masters tees off tomorrow at Augusta National Golf Club.  Tiger Woods will be back to defend his title, while Jon Rahm has gone viral with a skip-shot over the pond hole-in-one during practice yesterday.  Rahm is first in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings and second in the Official World Golf Ranking.  The tournament's final round is Sunday.

NBA Approves December Start

(Undated)  --  The NBA has officially approved a December 22nd start date for the reduced 72-game season.  The league and players' union agreed to the amended collective bargaining agreement yesterday.  Free agency will begin November 20th, two days after next week's draft.  The salary cap will remain the same as last season, due to the financial hit the league took due to COVID-19.

NFL Owners Approve Playoff Expansion

(Undated)  --  NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says owners have approved a playoff expansion plan in the case games have to be canceled due to COVID-19.  The league has had a recent spike in positive tests with the season past the halfway point.  If games need to be canceled, the playoff field will expand from 14 to 16 teams.  Goodell says they are still committed to finishing the schedule as planned.

(Pullman, WA)  --  Number-12 Oregon will visit Washington State in Pullman on Saturday.  The Ducks are coming off a season-opening win over Stanford.  The Cougars are also 1-and-0 after their win over Oregon State last weekend.  Washington State QB Jayden de Laura was named the Pac-12 freshman of the week after throwing for 277 yards and two touchdowns and running for another against Oregon State.

Patriots Keep Jets Winless With Last-Second Field Goal

(East Rutherford, NJ)  --  Nick Folk's 51-yard field goal as time expired lifted the Patriots to a 30-27 win over the Jets at New York.  Cam Newton's second rushing TD tied it with just less than two minutes left.  New England snapped a four-game skid to improve to 3-and-5.  The Jets fell to 0-and-9.

Mariners' Lewis Wins ROY

(Seattle, WA)  --  Mariners center fielder Kyle Lewis was named the American League Rookie of the Year in a unanimous vote.  Lewis batted .262 with 11 home runs and 28 RBI in 58 games.  He also led rookies across the league with 37 runs and 90 total bases.  Lewis is the 12th unanimous winner of the AL award.

'Bama New Number-One, Clemson Falls Three Spots

(Undated)  --  Alabama is the new number-one in the Coaches Poll.  The 6-and-0 Crimson Tide are followed by 7-and-0 Notre Dame and 3-and-0 Ohio State.  Previous number-one Clemson fell three spots to fourth after Saturday's 47-40, double-overtime loss to Notre Dame in South Bend.

(Portland, OR)  --  In college football, the Oregon Ducks are celebrating a big win over Stanford.  Oregon beat Stanford 35-14 on Saturday. The Ducks head north to face Washington State this Saturday at 2:00 / 4:00 on KBND.

NFL Week Nine Roundup

(Undated)  --  Around the NFL, the Steelers held on for a 24-19 win at Dallas for the first 8-and-0 start in franchise history, Josh Allen threw for 415 yards and three TD's as the Bills beat the Seahawks 44-34, and Patrick Mahomes fired four TD passes in the Chiefs' 33-31 win over the Panthers.

Seahawks Extending Pete Carroll

(Renton, WA)  --  The Seahawks are extending the contract of head coach Pete Carroll.  ESPN reports the multi-year deal will make the 69-year-old among the highest-paid coaches in the league and will allow him to finish his career in Seattle.  It's believed to be a five-year deal through 2025.

Oregon Hosts Stanford Tomorrow

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number-14 Oregon will host Stanford at Autzen Stadium in the Pac-12 season opener tomorrow.  The Ducks announced they'll be wearing their green jerseys with yellow helmets this week.  The team says several current and former players had an input in this year's jersey design.

(Orchard Park, NY)  --  The Seahawks will visit the Bills Sunday in New York.  The Seahawks sit atop the NFC West at 6-and-1 after a win over the 49ers last weekend to bounce back from their first loss of the season to the Cardinals.  Seattle is expecting safety Jamal Adams back after missing the past four games.

Packers Coast Past 49ers On Thursday Night Football

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  Aaron Rodgers passed for four touchdowns as the Packers coasted past the 49ers 34-17 on Thursday Night Football in Santa Clara.  Richie James hauled in nine passes for 184 yards and a TD for banged-up San Francisco, which placed four players on the COVID-19 list earlier this week.  Nick Mullens threw for a score and an interception.  The loss drops the Niners to 4-and-5.

Big Sky Conference Releases Schedule

(Portland, OR)  --  The Big Sky Conference has released its football schedule.  The season has been delayed until Spring, because of COVID-19.  The Portland State Vikings will open the season at home against Eastern Washington on February 27th.  All home games will be played at Hillsboro Stadium.  A total of 12 teams will compete in the six-game schedule.

Washington Game Canceled

(Seattle, WA)  --  Washington's season opener against Berkeley has been canceled due to a positive coronavirus test.  The Golden Bears announced a player tested positive yesterday. The game will be ruled a no contest.  This was the first reported test in the Pac-12 and first affected game.

OSU Hosts WSU Tomorrow

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State will welcome Washington State to Corvallis tomorrow. After battling a hamstring injury throughout training camp, Beavers safety David Morris will be available to play.  Linebacker Addison Gumbs will be unavailable, however, as he rehabs from knee surgery.  On the Cougars' side, they'll get wide receiver Jamire Calvin back after fracturing his foot twice in the same spot.

Timbers Shutout By Rapids

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers were silenced by the Colorado Rapids 1-0 at Providence Park.  Portland took 11 shots with none on target in the setback.  The Timbers had not lost since an October 14th matchup against Real Salt Lake.  They've slipped out of first in the West and are second with 38 points.

Packers, 49ers Square Off Tonight

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  A rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game will take place in Santa Clara tonight.  The San Francisco 49ers will host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football.  The hobbled 49ers are 4-and-4 on the season while the Packers are 5-and-2.

OSU Hosts WSU Saturday

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State will welcome Washington State to Corvallis on Saturday.  Beavers coach Jonathan Smith has named quarterback Tristan Gebbia the Week One starter.  This will be Cougars coach Nick Rolovich's first game and if they win, he'll become the first WSU coach to win his debut on the road since 1977. 

Oregon Hosts Stanford Saturday

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number-14 Oregon will host Stanford at Autzen Stadium in the Pac-12 season opener on Saturday.  The Ducks held their second practice in full pads yesterday and will have a walkthrough today.  The new-look offensive line, which has five new starters, was solid in practice according to coach Mario Cristobal.

49ers Hit Hard By COVID-19

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  The San Francisco 49ers are losing three more starters to the coronavirus.  NFL Network reports the Niners will place wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel and offensive tackle Trent Williams on the COVID-19 list.  The trio are considered "high-risk close contacts" of wide out Kendrick Bourne, who has tested positive for the virus.  The Niners shut down their team facility on Wednesday following Bourne's positive test but are still expected to host Green Bay tonight.

Dodgers' Betts, Angels' Canning Win Gold Gloves

(Undated)  --  For the fifth straight season, Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts will take home a Gold Glove.  This is his first time winning in the National League.  Angels pitcher Griffin Canning took home his first Gold Glove.  He's the first Angels pitcher to win one since Mark Langston in 1995. 

Mariners' Crawford, White Win Gold Gloves

(Seattle, WA)  --  Mariners first baseman Evan White and shortstop J.P. Crawford both won American League Gold Glove awards.  It's the first time either has won.  It's also the first time the award has been given to a rookie in White.  He led AL first basemen with seven defensive runs saved.  Crawford is the second Mariners player to win at shortstop.

Timbers Host Rapids Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  In Major League Soccer action, the Portland Timbers are gearing up for a game.  The Timbers will host the Rapids tonight at Providence Park. Portland took over first place in the West with 38 points following last weekend's win over Vancouver.

49ers' Garoppolo Could Be Heading For Season-Ending Surgery

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  The San Francisco 49ers are seeking other options on injured quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but coach Kyle Shanahan says he could be heading for season-ending surgery.  Shanahan told reporters Tuesday that Garoppolo's latest ankle sprain is a new injury on the same foot he previously hurt.  He says if it doesn't require surgery, "Jimmy G" could return to action in six weeks.  George Kittle is expected to land on injured reserve with a fractured foot.  The 4-and-4 Niners host Green Bay.

Oregon Hosts Stanford Saturday

(Eugene, OR)  --  It is time for the Pac-12 to join the college football party this week.  Number-14 Oregon will welcome Stanford to Autzen Stadium on Saturday in its season opener.  The Ducks finished 11-and-2 in the regular season and beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl.  Oregon blew past the Cardinal 21-6 last season.

Timbers Beat Whitecaps

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers are now first in the West with 38 points following a win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.  Yimmi Chara scored in the 61st minute as the Timbers silenced the Whitecaps 1-0 at Providence Park.  Portland took 11 shots with three on target in the win. 

Seahawks Top 49ers

(Seattle, WA)  --  Russell Wilson went off for 261 yards and four touchdowns as the Seahawks topped the 49ers 37-27 at CenturyLink Field.  Seattle took a 30-7 lead into the fourth quarter before allowing three San Francisco touchdowns.  DK Metcalf had 12 receptions for 161 yards and two scores for the Seahawks, who improve to 6-and-1 for the second time in franchise history.

Broncos Rally To Stun Chargers

(Denver, CO)  --  The Broncos scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to rally from a 21-point deficit to stun the Chargers 31-30 in Denver.  Drew Lock found K.J. Hamler to pull even with the Chargers with no time remaining in regulation before the extra point ended it.  Justin Herbert threw for 278 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for the Chargers.  Mike Williams had 99 receiving yards and a touchdown for the Bolts, who fall to 2-and-5.  They'll host the Raiders on Sunday in Inglewood.

OSU Hosts Wazzu Saturday

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State will host Washington State at Reser Stadium on Saturday.  The Beavers finished 5-and-7 overall and 4-and-5 in conference play.  They lost to the Cougars 54-53 in their penultimate game last season.  Wazzu ended 6-and-6 and 3-and-6 in the Pac-12. 

Raiders Pull Past Browns In Windy Cleveland

(Cleveland OH)  --  Derek Carr found Hunter Renfrow for the game's only touchdown early in the fourth quarter as the Raiders pulled past the Browns 16-6 in Cleveland.  The TD broke a 6-all tie as Las Vegas improved to 4-and-3.  Josh Jacobs ran for 128 yards on 31 carries for the Raiders and Daniel Carlson nailed three-of-four field goal attempts.  The Raiders head to L.A. to face the Chargers this week.
