(Undated)  --  In local college baseball action, Oregon needed one extra inning to take down USC 2-1 in Eugene and Oregon State clipped Arizona State 6-5 in Corvallis.  The Ducks improved to 21-and-20, while the Beavers improved to 32-and-7.  Oregon and Oregon State will square off against each other tomorrow in Eugene.  Portland handled Pacific 7-4 to up its record to 17-and-26 on the season.  The Pilots will battle Seattle a week from tomorrow.

(San Jose, CA)  --  The Timbers are set the square off against the Earthquakes in San Jose on Saturday.  Portland shut out New York City FC 3-0 in its last game to pick up its second straight MLS win.  San Jose is currently one point ahead of Seattle for last place in the Western Conference with five overall.  The Timbers are 2-3-and-2 so far this season.

(Seattle,WA)  --  The 2018 NFL Draft is in the books and the Seahawks ended up with nine new players.  Seattle selected one special teams player, four defensive players and four offensive players including first round pick Rashaad Penny, running back out of San Diego State.  Penny led the FBS in rushing yards last season with 2,027.

(Cleveland, OH)  --  Ryon Healy homered twice and drove in four runs as the Mariners hammered the Indians 10-4 in Cleveland.  Healy clubbed an RBI-double in the second inning to start the scoring before going deep in the sixth and eighth innings.  The M's scored five runs in the second, capped by a two-run shot from Robinson Cano.  Marco Gonzales threw six innings of two-run ball to earn the win.

(Seattle,WA)  --  Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin is joining his twin brother Shaquill Griffin on the Seattle Seahawks.  Shaquem was drafted in the fifth round by Seattle on Saturday.  He's best known for only having one hand, but that didn't stop him from a successful college career.  His twin Shaquill was a third-round pick by Seattle last year.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Mariners are returning home to open a three-game series with Athletics tomorrow at Safeco Field.  Felix Hernandez draws the start for Seattle, while Oakland counters with Andrew Triggs.  The M's are 16-and-11 on the season and trail the first-place Astros by two games in the AL West.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Former Ducks running back Jonathan Stewart is being inducted into the Oregon Athletics Hall of Fame.  The university will hold a banquet on September 20th to honor its newest inductees.  Stewart set a single season school record with 1,722 rushing yards back in 2007.  The star tailback became eligible after he was 10 years removed from attending the university.
 

(Arlington, TX)  --  The NFL Draft rolls on with rounds two and three coming today at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  Seattle selected San Diego State running back Rashaad Penny with the 27th overall pick of the first round.  The Seahawks do not have a pick in the second round and currently owns the 76th overall pick.  The draft will wrap up tomorrow with rounds four through seven.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers are returning to the field on May 5th when they head to San Diego to face the Earthquakes.  Portland shut out New York City FC 3-0 in its last game to pick up its second straight MLS win.  The Timbers are 2-3-and-2 so far this season.

On the Prep diamond…Summit’s lead is still 4-games better than Bend for the IMC Championship as the Storm crushed Mt. View yesterday, 15-to-2.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers are off this week before returning to the turf on May 5th against the Earthquakes in San Diego.  Portland has won its last two MLS games.  The Timbers shut out  the New York City FC 3-0 over the weekend at Providence Park  Sebastian Blanco, Fanendo Adi and Larrys Mabiala scored the Timbers goals.
 

(Undated)  --  Oregon State will play Portland tonight in Hillsboro.  The Beavers are 29-and-6 overall and 10-and-5 in the Pac-12.  The Oregon Ducks will play the Pilots tomorrow in Portland.    The Pilots took two-of-three from Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles over the weekend in WCC play.  Portland is 15-and-23 overall and 8-and-10 in the WCC.

(Chicago, IL)  --  Mike Leake was rocked for 12 hits and eight runs in less than four innings as the Mariners lost 10-4 to the White Sox in Chicago.  Mike Zunino hit a two-run homer and Mitch Haniger added a solo shot for Seattle, which has lost two straight and five of its last seven games.  Chicago snapped a seven-game losing streak.

(Renton, WA)  --  Seahawks personnel are heading to Arlington, Texas for this week's NFL Draft.  The first round takes place Thursday night at AT&T Stadium, home to the Cowboys.  The Seahawks have the 18th overall pick.  Rounds two and three are on Friday night, with the draft wrapping up Saturday afternoon with rounds four through seven.

(Renton, WA)  --  Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says they haven't closed the door on the possibility of signing quarterback Colin Kaepernick.  Carroll did say any further pursuit may depend on the upcoming NFL Draft.  Kaepernick has been without an NFL job since 2016 after becoming the face of NFL national anthem protests.

(Undated)  --  Oregon State left-hander Luke Heimlich struck out 12 as the Beavers beat Oregon 5-2 in a Pac-12 game in Corvallis.  Heimlich became Oregon State's all-time strikeout leader with 305.  The Beavers also welcomed back All-America second baseman Nick Madrigal, who missed 26 games with a fractured left wrist.  The Ducks and Beavers will meet again today.  In other area college baseball, Portland will open a three-game WCC series tonight against Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.

(New Orleans, LA)  --  The Pelicans led by 16 after one quarter and by 30 midway through the fourth in blowing out the Trail Blazers 119-102 in New Orleans.  Portland has dropped the first three games in the NBA playoff series and is one loss away from being eliminated.  Blazers All-Star point guard Damian Lillard scored 20 points, but committed a season-worst eight turnovers.  CJ McCollum led Portland with 22 points.  Portland committed 24 turnovers, leading to 29 Pelicans' points.  The two teams will play again tomorrow night in New Orleans.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Charlie Morton fired seven shutout innings as the Astros rocked the Mariners 9-2 in Seattle.  Marco Gonzales lasted less than five frames and took the loss.  David Freitas and Jean Segura had back-to-back RBI-doubles to break up the shutout in the eighth.  The Mariners turned the first triple play of the big league season in the fourth inning.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers are looking to make it two wins in-a-row as they host New York City FC Sunday.  Portland picked up its first win of the season by knocking off Minnesota United FC 3-2 on Saturday in its first home game.  The Timbers are 1-2-and-3 on the season.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Highly-recruited Teagan Quitoriano flipped his verbal pledge from the Ducks and signed with the Beavers.  He is a 6-foot-7, 250-pound tight end and defensive end from Salem Oregon Sprague High.  He committed to Oregon last July, but did not sign a letter-of-intent.  He becomes the top in-state recruit for Oregon State.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks will open the NFL regular season on the road against the Broncos on Sunday, September 9th.  The league released the entire schedule last night.  Seattle will be on the road for five of its first seven games.  The Seahawks will have a bye in Week Seven.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Mariners will open a 10-game trip tonight with the first three games against the Rangers in Arlington.  Felix Hernandez will start the opener against Texas.  Seattle is 9-and-8 and has dropped its last three games.  Texas is 7-and-13.

(New Orleans, LA)  --  The Trail Blazers face a must win situation tonight in New Orleans.  They lost the first two games at home to the Pelicans and the next two games are in New Orleans in the first round of the NBA playoffs.  The Blazers may be without starting forward Evan Turner, who was limited to less than five minutes on Tuesday after suffering a bruised right toe.  Portland coach Terry Stotts says there could be some tweaks in the lineup.  One possible change is moving Moe Harkless back to the lineup after he made all five of his shots and grabbed five rebounds in Game Two.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers are in a big hole in the first round of the NBA playoffs.  They lost 111-102 to the Pelicans at home and are down 0-and-2 in the best-of-seven series.  The next two games will shift to New Orleans.  CJ McCollum led Portland with 22 points.  Damian Lillard contributed 17 points, but missed six-of-seven treys in the loss.  The Blazers had no answer for Jrue Holiday, who scored 33 points and doled out nine assists.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Mariners and Astros play the third game of their four-game series tonight at Safeco Field.  Mike Leake puts his 2-and-0 mark on the line for Seattle, while Houston counters with 1-and-0 Gerrit Cole.  The Mariners are second in the AL West at 9-and-6, three games behind the first-place Angels.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Mariners struck out 14 times in a 4-1 loss to the Astros at Safeco Field.  Seattle managed just one hit in seven innings against Houston starter Lance McCullers Jr., a Robinson Cano solo homer in the first.  Dan Altavilla took the loss in relief of starter Ariel Miranda.  The M's had just three hits in all.

Prep baseball continues league play today in the Intermountain Conference and after losing its first league game, the Summit Storm have won 5-straight to lead the IMC. The Storm clash with 7th ranked Bend today in game-1 of a weekly 3-game rival series with first pitch set for 430 on the Lava Bears home diamond.

Summit is 6-and-1 in conference action while Bend is unbeaten in 3-games. Same two teams tomorrow at Summit High. Elsewhere, Ridgeview hosts Mt. View.

In the 4A Tri-Valley, #12 Madras entertains 7th ranked Gladstone with the White Buffalos trailing Gladstone by just one game for the early league lead, and Crook County, who has the day off, is in 2nd place only one-half game better then Madras.

In the Sky-Em Conference, Sisters is off until Friday when they host league leading Sweet Home in a doubleheader.

Meantime, 3rd ranked La Pine travels to Harrisburg in a key class 3-A Mountain Valley Conference game.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers are looking to grab their first win of the postseason as they host the New Orleans Pelicans in Game Two of the first round tomorrow.  New Orleans knocked off Portland 97-95 in Game One to take a 1-0 series lead.  Games Three and Four will shift to New Orleans with Game Five returning to Portland if necessary.

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland Timbers owner Merritt Paulson is being fined by the MLS for criticizing the officiating in last week's match.  Paulson made a comment on his Twitter account that suggested the referees made the wrong call, which resulted in his team losing to Orlando City 3-2 on April 8th.  MLS commissioner Don Garber announced the fine yesterday, but did not disclose the amount.

(Portland, OR)  --  Former Nike executive Craig Cheek is assembling a management group with the intentions to bring a Major League Baseball team to Portland.  The city of Portland has been lobbying for a professional baseball club for some time, but numerous issues have stalled discussions.  The state Legislature passed a bill back in 2003 to build a stadium for a prospective MLB franchise, but funding concerns prevented the city from moving forward on the idea.

(Portland, OR)  --  A University of Portland tennis player is being thrown off the team after allegedly making violent and misogynistic comments while emceeing an awards banquet.  School officials say senior Goutham Sundaram has been removed from the tennis team roster and that additional steps could be taken to address his conduct.  Students and staff members say Sundaram made sexually explicit and misogynistic comments while emceeing the Athletic Department's Wallay Awards banquet Sunday night.  Sundaram has issued an apology to his fellow student athletes, saying he's sorry if he made anyone uncomfortable.

(Kansas City, MO)  --  The Mariners are set to conclude their three-game series against the Royals today in Kansas City.  Seattle is 5-and-4 and will send James Paxton to the bump.  The 3-and-6 Royals will counter with Danny Duffy.  The M's will return home after the game to host the Athletics on Friday.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers will wrap up the regular season tomorrow with a pivotal matchup against the Jazz at the Moda Center.  At 48-and-33, they currently hold a half-game lead over Utah for third in the West.  The Jazz are 47-and-33 and host the Warriors tonight.
 

(Denver, CO)  --  Nikola Jokic's triple-double performance helped the Nuggets edge the Trail Blazers 88-82 in Denver.  Jokic finished with 15 points, 20 rebounds, and 11 assists.  Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 25 points and Jusuf Nurkic  scored 20 with 19 boards in defeat.   The Blazers are on a four-game slide.

(Kansas City, MO)  --  Jake Junis took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Royals routed the Mariners 10-0 at Kauffman Stadium.  He gave up an infield hit to Daniel Vogelbach with one out in the seventh.  Marco Gonzales didn't survive the third inning and fell to 1-and-1.  Dee Gordon had the other Seattle hit.  The M's are 4-and-4 and are back at it with Kansas City tonight.  Felix Hernandez takes the ball for Seattle opposed by Royals lefty Eric Skoglund.

(Undated)  --  Oregon lost 9-7 yesterday to Portland in Eugene.  The Ducks fell to 18-and-13 and will open a three-game set at Washington on Friday.   The Pilots improved to 11-and-19 and will return home to open a three-game series with BYU on Thursday.  Oregon State hits the road to play three at Missouri State with a double-header on Friday and the finale on Saturday.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks held their eighth spring football practice at Franklin High in Portland.  About a thousand fans turned out in the rain and high winds to watch the two-hour practice.  This is Mario Cristobal's first year as the Oregon head coach.  He is the Ducks third head coach in as many years.
 

(Denver, CO)  --  After three games and three losses in Texas, the Trail Blazers will play tonight in Denver to end a four-game trip.  The Nuggets have won five straight to keep their playoffs hopes alive.  They are tied with Minnesota for the eighth and final Western Conference berth.  Portland has dropped six of its last 10.  The Blazers will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night at the Moda Center as they are clinging to the third slot in the West.

(Undated)  --  Oregon State lost 6-5 yesterday to Arizona in Tuscon.  The Beavers lost the series and fell to 7-and-5 in the Pac-12.  Oregon fell 7-0 yesterday to Washington State in Eugene.  The Ducks won the first two games of the Pac-12 weekend series.  Oregon will play Portland tonight in Eugene.   The Pilots were swept by Gonzaga in a three-game WCC weekend series in Spokane.
 

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Timbers surrendered three goals in the last 10 minutes in a 3-2 loss to Orlando City SC in Orlando.  Diego Valeri scored on a Timbers penalty kick.  Bill Tuiloma had the other Portland goal.  The Timbers will play their first home game on Saturday against Minnesota United FC still looking for their first victory.

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  The Mariners game against the Twins was postponed because of freezing weather and a chance of snow in the Minneapolis area.  The game will be made up on May 14th, which was an off-day for the two clubs.  The Mariners are scheduled to play the Royals tonight in Kansas City.
 

(Houston, TX)  --  All-Star point guard Damian Lillard did not play in the two-point loss at Houston.  Lillard has a sprained left ankle.  He was injured in the fourth quarter in a loss Tuesday to the Mavericks in Dallas.  It is uncertain whether he will play tomorrow against the Spurs.

(Houston, TX)  --  Chris Paul made a layup with less than a second left to lift the Rockets to a 96-94 victory over the Trail Blazers in Houston.  Portland trailed by 22 points at the intermission, but limited Houston to 30 points in the second half.  The Blazers went on a 19-to-2 run late to tie the game.  CJ McCollum led Portland with 16 points.  The Blazers will continue this trip tomorrow at San Antonio.

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Mariners starter James Paxton allowed four hits and two runs over five-plus innings for a no-decision in the 4-2 loss to the Twins in Minnesota's home opener.  Rookie Daniel Vogelbach went 2-for-3 with a run-producing single and a walk in the loss.  Seattle went 2-for-17 with runners in scoring position and stranded 11 runners.  Mike Leake will start tomorrow for the M's after both teams are idle today.

Moving outdoors and prep baseball where the Summit Storm got even with Ridgeview yesterday after the Ravens beat the Storm in the IMC opener on Tuesday, 7-6.  Summit pounded Ridgeview in to submission and a tap-out win on the Ravens home diamond in 5-innings, 13-to-notihing.

Meantime, Redmond takes the early IMC lead as the Panthers crushed Mt. View for the second-straight day, 13-to-4. Same matchups tomorrow to end week-1 in the Intermountain Conference.

Elsewhere on the scoreboard…Bend split two games yesterday both in Hood River losing to the host team 14-2, but winning the night cap beating Pendleton, 3-1.

In a class 4-A non-league game, Sisters took care of business beating Cascade, 11-3.

Tomorrow, Sisters is scheduled to host Sutherlin for a twinbill, and Madras opens Tri-Valley play hosting Molalla, while Crook County opens on the road at Estacada.

On the girl’s softball scoreboard….Ridgeview and Redmond both off to 2-and-0 league starts as the Lady Ravens smashed Summit yesterday 20-to-1 and the Panthers slip by Mt. View 8-7.
 

(Houston, TX)  --  The Trail Blazers face a daunting test tonight when they play the Rockets in Houston.  The Rockets own the best record in the NBA at 63-and-15.  Portland is coming off a 115-109 loss to the Mavericks in Dallas on Tuesday.  The Rockets have won 19 straight at the Toyota Center.  The Blazers have lost two of their last four games to the lowly Mavs and Grizzlies.  Portland has lost six of its last seven games to Houston.

(Houston, TX)  --  The Trail Blazers have listed All-Star point guard Damian Lillard as doubtful for the game tonight in Houston.  Lillard sprained his left ankle late in the fourth quarter Tuesday in a loss to the Mavericks in Dallas.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State opened spring football practice without senior linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu.  Beavers coach Jonathan Smith says Ugwoegbu is suspended indefinitely.  He refused to elaborate on the reason for his suspension.  Ugwoegbu has started 20 games, the most of any returning defensive player.
 

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State power forward Ben Kone is transferring.  He announced his decision on Twitter.  The 6-foot-8 sophomore tore his ACL in his left knee his senior year in high school.  He missed the beginning of his sophomore season to repair a meniscus issue in the same knee and averaged less than five minute per game.

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Giants hit three home runs off Felix Hernandez and routed the Mariners 10-1 at AT&T Park.  Hernandez was touched for eight runs in four-plus frames to fall to 1-and-1.  Daniel Vogelbach doubled in Seattle's run in the sixth.

(Minneapolis, MM)  --  The Mariners remain on the road today to open a three-game series against the Twins in Minnesota.  James Paxton will start today for the Mariners.  The M's will conclude their series with Minnesota on Sunday and visit the Royals on Monday.  The Twins and Mariners are both 3-and-2.  The Mariners are hopeful catcher Mike Zunino could come off the disabled list this weekend.  He is out with a strained left oblique.

The IMC opened up the Prep baseball regular season yesterday and Ridgeview edges Summit, 7-6 and Redmond crushed Mt. View, 15-2.

Same clubs square off today with the Ravens and Panthers hosting 430 first pitch starts.  Bend plays 2 non-league games against Pendleton and Hood River, both at Hood River.

Sisters won its Sky-Em opener beating Elmira, 4-2. The Outlaws host Cascade in a non-league game today before hosting Sutherlin in a double-header on Friday.

And, La Pine won its league opener, too, smashing Creswell 12-zip.

On the ice…the Portland Winterhawks are moving on to the Western Hockey League semifinals as the Hawks beat Spokane last night in Portland, 3-1. The Winterhawks meet Everett with the first two games on the Silvertips ice starting Friday night in the best-of-7 series.

The start of the last road trip of the season for the Trailblazers ended with a loss last night in Dallas as the lottery-bound Mavericks pull off a 115-109 win over Portland.

It’s the first of 3 games in Texas for the Blazers on this 4-game trip, and Portland is 4-and-4 since its 13-game win streak recently.

Damian Lillard scored 29 points and C.J. McCollum added 16 in the loss but both combined were a dismal 2-for-15 from 3-point range.

The Blazers who secured a playoff spot with Sunday’s win over Memphis could have clinched the home court for the first time in 5 straight playoff appearances with the win, and losses by the Thunder and Utah. Golden State beat Oklahoma City, but Utah scored a win at home beating the Lakers.

Portland plays in Houston tomorrow night against the NBA leading Rockets who along with the Warriors and the Blazers have secured playoff spots in the Western Conference. 7 other teams are still alive for the 5 remaining playoff positions in the west.

In the Eastern Conference, only Milwaukee and Detroit are alive for the last of 8 playoff spots.

The Beavers scored their second-straight extra-inning walk-off win as Oregon State’s Adley Rutchsman hits an inside the park home run to beat Nevada in the bottom of the 10th inning, 8-7.

OSU takes its 23-and-4 record on the road to Tucson to face Arizona in a 3-game Pac-12 series starting Friday night. Oregon is 16-and-11 and will host Washington State this weekend.

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Mariners won their road opener, beating the Giants 6-4 in San Francisco.  Dee Gordon and Jean Segura, the M's first two hitters, combined for six hits and scored three runs.  Mitch Haniger drove in a pair of runs with a first inning single.  Felix Hernandez will start today for Seattle in the finale of the two-game Interleague series.  The M's placed Nelson Cruz on the disabled list with an ankle injury.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon's Troy Brown Junior announced on his Twitter account he is entering the NBA draft.  The 6-foot-7 freshman was a five-star recruit from Las Vegas.  He is listed as a late first-round pick in many mock drafts.

Villanova cut down the nets last night in San Antonio as they won their second national men’s collegiate Title in the last three seasons, and the third in school history.

Villanova came from behind to blow away Michigan, 79-62 to win the big dance and end the madness.

Sophmore guard Donte DiVincenzo scored a game-high 31 points including 5 three pointers coming off the bench to lead the Wildcats to the Championship before 67-thousand, 8-hundred and 31 looked on inside the Alamo Dome.

'Nova won all 6 of its tournament games by double-digits and sank 18-three’s in the Final-4.

Michigan was playing in its second Title game in the last 6 years and ends their season, 33-and-8. Nova finishes 36-and-4 and their dancing in the streets of Philadelphia as the city celebrates its second major sports Title in 2 months after the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

Looking ahead to next season, the Duke Blue Devils are an early 5-to-1 favorite to win the men’s title.

So, Villanova wins the men’s trophy and Notre Dame captures the women’s crown.
 

(Undated)  --  Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard was named Western Conference Player of the Week.  It was the third time he's won the award this season.  Portland went 3-and-1 from March 26th to April 1st with Lillard averaging 28.3 points per game.

(Dallas, TX)  --  The Trail Blazers begin their final road trip of the regular season when they play the Mavericks tonight.  Portland's trek also goes to Houston, San Antonio and Denver.  The Blazers have already clinched a playoff spot at 48-and-29.  Dallas is 23-and-54.

(San Francisco, CA)  --  The Mariners hit the road for the first time this season beginning an eight-game trip.  Seattle opens a two-game series against the Giants this afternoon.  Marco Gonzales starts for the M's opposite San Francisco's Ty Blach.  Seattle took two-of-three from the Indians to start the year.  The Giants are 2-and-2.

(Undated)  --  Oregon State edged Nevada 3-2 in extra innings yesterday in Corvallis.  After the Beavers tied the game in the bottom of the ninth the Wolfpack center fielder dropped a fly ball in the 11th to allow the winning run to score.  OSU improved to 22-and-4.  The Beavers and Wolfpack close out their two-game series tonight.  The Ducks topped San Francisco 5-2 yesterday to improve to 16-and-11.  Oregon returns to Pac-12 play on Friday when they start a three-game home series with Washington State.

The NCAA Men’s college basketball title game is tonight in San Antonio, and Villanova meets Michigan. Villanova is favored to win its third title while the Wolverines are trying to capture their second trophy.

The NCAA Women’s Title taken by the Notre Dame Irish on Easter Sunday in Columbus, Ohio as the Irish beat Mississippi State with a 3-point shot near the final buzzer to win it 17 years after Notre Dame won their first Championship. The Irish finish 35-and-3 and beat Oregon in the Spokane Regional Final last week.

Indiana wins the Women’s NIT Championship beating Virginia Tech, and Yale claims the W-B-I, Women’s Basketball Invitational.

Back on the men’s side…Penn State outscored Utah to win the Men’s NIT Championship. North Texas defeated San Francisco 2 out of 3 to win the CBI, and Northern Colorado men win the College Invitational.

Again…tonight, it’s Villanova and Michigan to end the college season with the NCAA Division-1 Men’s Title event with tipoff set for 620pm and the game televised on T-B-S.

(Undated)  --  The number-one ranked Oregon State Beavers lost a Pac-12 Conference series for the first time since 2016.  Utah took two-of-three from the Beavers, winning the series finale 11-8 in Salt Lake City.  Oregon State had won its previous 14 consecutive conference series.  The Beavers will host Nevada tonight.  Oregon dropped two-of-three at Stanford.  The Ducks will play at San Francisco in a non-conference game tonight.  Portland took two-of-three at Santa Clara in a WCC series.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers wrapped up their fifth consecutive playoff berth with a 113-98 triumph over the Grizzlies in Portland.  Damian Lillard scored 29 points and dished out nine assists in the win, while CJ McCollum contributed 20 points and nine assists.  The Blazers won for the fourth time in their last five games and are clinging to the third spot in the West with a 48-and-29 record.  Dillon Brooks, a rookie from the University of Oregon, led Memphis with 28 points.  The Trail Blazers will play tomorrow in Dallas to open a three-game Texas trip.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger homered in the seventh inning as the Mariners clocked the Indians 5-4 in Seattle.  Jean Segura and Kyle Seager doubled in runs in the fifth to help the M's win the rubber match.  Mike Leake tossed seven innings of two-run ball to earn the win and Edwin Diaz notched the save.
 

(Chicago, IL)  -- The Portland Timbers and Chicago Fire played to a 2-2 draw in Bridgeview, Illinois.  Sebastian Blanco had a goal and an assist for Portland.  The Timbers next MLS game is this coming Sunday at Orlando City SC.
