Blazers Blown Out By Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- The Trail Blazers did not have a good night in Utah. Portland lost to the Jazz 129-107 in Salt Lake City. Anfernee Simons scored 24 points off the bench, and Jusuf Nurkic had 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Blazers host the Pistons tonight.

USC Introduces New Head Football Coach

(Los Angeles, CA) -- USC has its new head football coach. Lincoln Riley was officially introduced on Monday. He comes to the Trojans after leading Oklahoma to four straight Big 12 titles and three College Football Playoff appearances. He replaces Clay Helton, who was fired in September. Several coaches from the Oklahoma program are making the move west with Riley.

Oregon MBB win

(Undated) -- Oregon defeated Montana 87-47 in Eugene. Number-3 Gonzaga did not play its best game in a 64-55 win over Tarleton State in Spokane. Chet Holmgren had 15 points and nine rebounds in the win.

Washington Hires Kalen DeBoer As Head Football Coach

(Seattle, WA) -- The Huskies have a new football coach. Washington hired Fresno State head coach Kalen DeBoer on Monday. DeBoer comes off a 9-and-3 season with Fresno and was the offensive coordinator for the Indiana Hoosiers in 2019. He was also the three-time NAIA National Coach of the Year at the University of Sioux Falls in the 2000s and left that job with a 67-and-3 record. DeBoer replaces Jimmy Lake, who was fired by U-dub on November 14th after less than two seasons in charge.

Tiger Woods Reveals He Won't Play on the Tour "Full-Time, Ever Again"

(Jupiter, FL) -- Tiger Woods says he won't play on the PGA Tour "full-time, ever again." Woods is still recovering from what could have been a fatal single car crash in California last February, and tells Golf Digest he'll probably just "pick and choose" a few events a year moving forward. Woods added "it's an unfortunate reality" as he continues to rehab after his serious leg injures. Woods has 15 major championships, just three behind all time record holder Jack Nicklaus.

Oregon Wins Over The Weekend

(Undated) -- The Ducks have emerged victorious in one of the biggest college football rivalries in the Northwest. Number-11 Oregon beat Oregon State 38-29 in Eugene on Saturday. The Ducks clinched the Pac-12 North with the win.  Oregon faces off with Utah in Las Vegas Friday.  On the line: A trip to the Rose Bowl.

Zags Lose To Duke In Vegas

(Undated) -- Number-1 Gonzaga lost to number-6 Duke 84-81 in a thriller in Vegas on Friday night. Oregon State lost to Wake Forest and Penn State in the Emerald Coast Classic. On Saturday, Wazzu lost to Eastern Washington 76-71 in Pullman and U-Dub lost Winthrop 82-74 in Seattle. Seattle U also beat St. Thomas 81-64 on Saturday. Tonight, Gonzaga hosts Tarleton State and Oregon hosts Montana.

(San Francisco, CA) -- The Blazers were the latest victims of the Warriors. Portland lost to the Warriors 118-103 on Friday in San Francisco. Anfernee Simons led the Blazers with 19 points off the bench, and Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum both had 16. The Blazers play the Jazz in Utah tonight.

Warriors Cruise Past Clippers In LA

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Steph Curry poured in a game-high 33 points as the Warriors cruised past the Clippers 105-90 in Los Angeles. Otto Porter Jr. posted 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for Golden State, which leads the NBA at 18-and-2. Paul George put up 30 points to pace the Clippers, who dropped to 11-and-9. Eric Bledsoe added 13 points and 10 boards in defeat.

Washington Hosts Struggling Seahawks On Monday Night Football

(Landover, MD) -- The Seahawks visit the Washington Football Team on Monday Night Football. Washington is 4-and-6, but it has won its past two games. Taylor Heinicke guides the offense with 15 touchdown passes, while Antonio Gibson leads the ground game with 601 yards and five scores. The Seahawks are struggling this season at 3-and-7 and have lost five of their past six games. Russell Wilson has played in two games since returning from his finger injury, but Seattle's offense has struggled with just 13 points in those two games.

Oklahoma's Riley Bolting For USC

Number-1 Gonzaga kept on rolling with a 107-54 win over Central Michigan in the Good Sam Empire Classic in Vegas. Seattle U also won as it beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 77-56 in Seattle.

NBA Suspends James, Stewart For Scuffle

(New York, NY) -- The NBA is suspending LeBron James for the first time in his 19-year career. The league announced Monday that James and Pistons center Isaiah Stewart were each suspended for their altercation that took place during Sunday's game. James hit Stewart in the face during a box out attempt, leading to his ejection from the game. James was dealt a one-game suspension, while Stewart was suspended for two games.

Timbers Play Rapids In Semifinal

(Portland, OR) -- The Timbers are heading to the Western Conference Semifinal. Portland goes on the road to play the top-seeded Colorado Rapids in the conference semifinal on Thanksgiving Day. The Timbers beat Minnesota United FC 3-1 on Sunday to move on to the semifinal.

Brady, Bucs Defeat Giants On Monday Night Football

(Tampa, FL) -- Tom Brady and the Buccaneers are snapping their losing streak in primetime. Tampa Bay defeated the Giants 30-10 in a Monday Night showdown in the Sunshine State. Brady threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns as he helped the Bucs snap a two-game losing skid. It was tough sailing for New York, which dropped to 3-and-7. Daniel Jones managed only 167 passing yards, a TD and two picks.

Ducks Suffer Big Loss To Utah

(Undated) -- The Oregon Ducks College Football Playoff hopes came to a screeching halt in Salt Lake City. The number-3 Ducks were pounded by number-23 Utah 38-7. The Beavers ground out a 24-10 win over ASU on Saturday night, while U-dub lost to Colorado 20-17. On Friday night, the Cougs earned bowl eligibility with a 44-18 win over Arizona.

Timbers Come Back To Beat Minnesota

(Portland, OR) -- The Timbers are heading to the Western Conference Semifinal after a win over Minnesota! The Timbers defeated Minnesota United FC 3-1 in Portland in the first round of the playoffs. Sebastián Blanco scored two second half goals in the Timbers' win. Blanco scored in the 46th and 66th minutes and actually left the game briefly with an injury. Larrys Mabiala put Portland on the board with a goal in the 43rd minute. Portland goes on the road to play the top-seeded Colorado Rapids in the conference semifinal on Thanksgiving Day.

Sacramento Kings Fire Head Coach, Gentry Named Interim

(Sacramento, CA) -- The Sacramento Kings fired head coach Luke Walton, the son of former Blazer great Bill Walton, yesterday after getting off to a disappointing start in his third season in charge. Walton was informed of the decision a day after a 123-105 home loss to Utah that dropped the Kings to 6-11 on the season. the Kings have lost 6 of their last 7 games. Walton had a 68-93 record in two-plus seasons as coach, failing to help Sacramento end its 15-season playoff drought. Associate coach Alvin Gentry takes over on an interim basis.

Report: There's A '50-50' Chance LeBron Plays Friday

(Boston, MA) -- It looks like LeBron James will be getting back on the court soon. ESPN is reporting that there is a "50-50" chance James will play tonight in the Lakers game against the Celtics in Boston. Los Angeles officially upgraded James to questionable. James has missed the Lakers last eight games with an abdominal strain. The 36-year-old went through ball handling and shooting drills before Los Angeles' road game against the Bucks on Wednesday.

(Portland, OR) -- Despite trailing by 15 points at halftime, the Blazers found a way to beat the Bulls. The Trail Blazers defeated the Bulls 112-107 in Portland. Damian Lillard led the way with 22 points and 10 assists, Jusuf Nurkic and Norman Powell each scored 18, and Larry Nance Jr. added 16 points off the bench. Portland hosts the 76ers on Saturday.

Ducks WR Pittman Leaves Oregon

(Eugene, OR) -- The Ducks have one less wide receiver on their roster. Wide receiver Mycah Pittman has entered the transfer portal and left the program. Pittman caught 12 passes for 197 yards this season with the Ducks.

NCAA Expands Women's Basketball Tournament

(Undated) -- The NCAA is expanding the field of teams that will participate in the women's college basketball tournament. Starting this season, an additional four teams will be invited to play in the tournament, bringing the total number of schools to 68. The day of the women's selection show has also been changed to accommodate for the extra games. The show will now be held on Sunday March 13th instead of the traditional Monday broadcast.

Antetokounmpo set a season-high in scoring with 47 points and added nine rebounds for Milwaukee, which improved to 7-and-8. Talen Horton-Tucker led Los Angeles with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Georgia is atop the rankings at number one while Alabama is second and Ohio State is fourth. On the outside looking in is Cincinnati at fifth, Michigan is sixth, and Michigan State at seventh. (Brooklyn, NY) -- The Warriors outscored the Nets 35-18 in the third quarter en route to a 117-99 win. Golden State led for the entire second half. Steph Curry hit nine three's and finished the game with 37 points. Andrew Wiggins poured in another 19 points. The 12-and-2 Warriors have won eight of their last nine games. James Harden had 24 points for the Nets, and Kevin Durant finished with 19.

Packers Shut Out Seahawks

(Green Bay, WI) -- The highly-anticipated returns of Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson resulted in a defensive struggle. The Packers ground out a 17-0 win over the Seahawks in Green Bay. Rodgers was solid in his comeback from COVID-19 protocol, throwing for 292 yards and one interception. Kevin King and Adrian Amos each picked off Wilson in the end zone. Wilson had arguably his worst game of his career, completing 20-of-40 passes for 161 yards and two interceptions. Seattle's defense was led by Jamal Adams who had 11 tackles and an interception. Davis scored 34 points, 27 of which came in the first half, and collected 15 rebounds. Talen Horton-Tucker added 17 points in his season debut for Los Angeles, which improved to 8-and-6. Wayne Ellington hit 5 threes as he chipped in 15 off the bench. The Spurs drop to 4-and-9.

(Corvallis) -- Oregon State Men with their first ever PAC-12 soccer title after a home double-overtime 2-2 draw with Washington last night. OSU finishes with 3 more season points than the Huskies with the tie and receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Lakers battled back from a late deficit as they beat the Heat 120-117 in overtime in Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook racked up 25 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds for his second straight triple double. He was aided by Malik Monk, who scored a season-high 27 points off the bench. Anthony Davis added 24 points and 13 rebounds for Los Angeles, which improved to 7-and-5.

(Miami Gardens, FL) -- The Ravens will look to invade South Beach when they visit the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. Baltimore enters the game at 6-and-2 after a thrilling overtime win over the Vikings at home. The Ravens are first in the AFC North. Jason Dufner, Kyle Stanley, Russell Henley, Bronson Burgoon, Scott Stallings, and Kelly Kraft begin the tournament. Last year's champion Carlos Ortiz will not be participating in this year's Houston Open. Viktor Hovland will also not be participating after he came away with last week's WWT Championship.

Ducks QB Brown A Finalist For Davey O'Brien Award

(Eugene, OR) -- Ducks quarterback Anthony Brown is getting some recognition. Brown was named a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award. He was the only Pac-12 quarterback nominated for the award. Marcus Mariota won the award in 2014. Oregon offensive lineman Ryan Walk was named a semifinalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, which honors the top college football player who started his career as a walk-on.

Latest College Football Playoff Rankings Released

(Undated) -- The latest College Football Playoff Rankings are out and the Ducks are number three. Georgia remains in the top spot after decimating Missouri. Alabama is second while Oregon moves up to the third spot following Michigan State's loss. Ohio State is now fourth. The Spartans fall to seventh in the rankings. Cincinnati moves up to the number five spot. Michigan is sixth, while MSU, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma State round out the top 10.

Cal-USC Game Postponed Due To COVID-19 Outbreak

(Undated) -- A Pac-12 football game is being postponed to due to a COVID-19 outbreak. Cal will not be able to play USC on Saturday after multiple positive COVID-19 tests within the program. Cal reported that the team had a 99-percent vaccination rate among players, but had additional positive cases after Saturday's game. The game has been rescheduled for December 4th, a day after the Pac-12 championship game.

(Seattle, WA) -- More and more drama coming from Montlake. UW suspended Jimmy Lake for one game after he shoved a player during the Oregon game. The Huskies play Arizona State this Saturday. Defensive coordinator Bob Gregory will take over as acting head coach for that game. This comes after the Huskies fired offensive coordinator John Donovan on Sunday.

Lakers Outlast Hornets In OT

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Carmelo Anthony poured in 29 points off the bench as he led the Lakers to a 126-123 overtime win over the Hornets in Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook tallied his second triple-double as a Laker and Anthony Davis contributed with 32 points and 12 rebounds. The Lakers blew a 14-point lead, but managed to hold off the upset bid to improve to 6-and-5. The Hornets drop to 5-and-7.

(Undated) -- The Huskies and Beavers shook up their coaching staffs this weekend. U-Dub fired offensive coordinator John Donovan on Sunday and Oregon State fired defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar. Also of note, U-dub athletic director Jen Cohen announced that she is looking into an incident that showed Huskies coach Jimmy Lake shoving a player during the Oregon game.

Oregon Beats Washington In Seattle

(Undated) -- It was another feisty Washington-Oregon game under the rain in Husky Stadium on Saturday night. The number-4 Ducks defeated the Huskies 26-16 in Seattle. Saturday, Oregon hosts Washington State.  5:30 p.m. pre-game and 7:30 kick-off.  Oregon State fought hard in Boulder, but lost 37-34 in overtime to Colorado. Wazzu was on a bye this weekend.

Kyle Larson Wins NASCAR Cup Series Championship

(Avondale, AZ) -- Kyle Larson is finally going home with the big one. Larson finished first to win the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in the final race of the year at Phoenix Raceway. The driver had returned this year after being suspended by NASCAR for use of a racial slur during an e-sports game. Martin Truex Jr. finished in second. Denny Hamlin took third while Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.

Trail Blazers Pres Of Basketball Operations Facing Probe

(Undated) -- The Portland Trail Blazers are looking into allegations of workplace misconduct on the part of the team's president of basketball operations, Neil Olshey. The Trail Blazers confirmed on Saturday that an independent investigator had been brought in to handle the matter. The team released a brief statement saying they are committed "to continuing to build an organization that positively impacts our colleagues, communities and the world in which we live and play."

Viktor Hovland Defends WWT Championship Title

(Quintana Roo, Mexico) -- Viktor Hovland is defending his title at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in Mexico. It was the first time Mayakoba has had a repeat winner since it began in 2007. Hovland finished the tournament 23-under, four strokes ahead of Carlos Ortiz, who took second place at 19-under. Justin Thomas finished third at 18-under.

Washington And Oregon Play Saturday

(Seattle, WA) -- It should be another testy environment for the Oregon-Washington game on Saturday. The Huskies host the number-4 Ducks tomorrow afternoon. 2:30 pre-game and 4:30 kick-off on KBND. The Oregon State Beavers play the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder tomorrow as well.

Rolovich Appeals Firing Over COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

(Undated) -- Nick Rolovich may not be at Washington State University anymore but he's still making headlines. Rolovich, the former head football coach at Wazzu, has filed an appeal to the university for being fired for not complying with Washington state's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. One of Rolovich's main sticking points in the appeal was that the University did not allow him to forgo the vaccine due to his religious beliefs.

Alabama, LSU Battle In College Football Week 10

(Undated) -- Week 10 of the college football season is upon us. On Saturday, it's a showdown between second-ranked Alabama and LSU in Tuscaloosa. Elsewhere, top-ranked Georgia hosts Missouri. WWT Championship at Mayakoba Round One Results

Blazers Fall To Cavs In Cleveland

(Cleveland, OH) -- The Trail Blazers ended their road trip with a loss. Portland lost to the Cavaliers 107-104 in Cleveland. Damian Lillard shot 10-of-27 to score 26 points, Norman Powell added 23 points and CJ McCollum chipped in with 21 points. The Blazers host the Indiana Pacers tomorrow night.

Warriors Swat Hornets

(San Francisco, CA) -- The Warriors made sure they weren't stung by the Hornets at home. Jordan Poole scored 31 points as the Warriors swatted away the Hornets 114-92 in San Francisco. Stephen Curry added 15 for Golden State, which is 6-and-1. Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 32 points. Gordon Hayward added 23 for Charlotte, which is 5-and-4 on the season.

Jets Visit Colts On Thursday Night Football

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Mike White and Jets are looking for a second straight win as they visit the Colts in Indianapolis for a Thursday Night showdown. White guided New York to a surprise win over the Bengals in Week Eight, throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns. Indianapolis is looking for some answers after a gut-wrenching loss to the Titans in overtime last week.

World Wide Technology Championship At Mayakoba

(Quintana Roo, Mexico) -- The World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba is getting underway. The tournament is being held at El Camaleon Golf Course, and Troy Merritt will tee off to start round one. Merritt will be joined in a group by Roger Sloan, Will Zalatoris, Chris Kirk, Jonas Blixt, and Danny Lee. Defending champion Viktor Hovland gets his tournament started later in the day.

Giants Buster Posey Set To Retire From Baseball

(San Francisco, CA) -- San Francisco Giants Catcher Buster Posey is retiring. Multiple reports say the 34-year-old veteran and three-time World Series champion will make it official on Thursday. Posey has had a decorated career with the Giants, winning the National League Rookie of the Year in 2010. He was the NL Comeback Player of the Year and league MVP in 2012.

Braves Win World Series

(Houston, TX) -- The Atlanta Braves are 2021 World Series Champions. Atlanta defeated the Astros 7-0 in Game Six of the World Series in Houston. Jorge Soler, Dansby Swanson, and Freddie Freeman homered for the Braves. Max Fried pitched six scoreless innings to pick up the win for Atlanta. The Astros finished with just six hits. It's the first championship for the Braves since 1995.

Braves outfielder Jorge Soler is being recognized for his efforts in helping lead Atlanta to a World Series victory over the Astros. Soler was named the Willie Mays World Series MVP. The outfielder and designated hitter hit three home runs in the series for Atlanta over the six games. Soler is also the second Cuban to win the World Series MVP.

Oregon Fourth In Initial CFP Rankings

(Undated) -- The Oregon Ducks are the fourth-ranked team in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season. Georgia is number-one, followed by Alabama, Michigan State and Oregon. Ohio State is fifth, while Cincinnati, Michigan, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and Notre Dame round out the top-10.

Report: Ben Simmons Won't Talk With Team Doctors About His Mental State

(Camden, NJ) -- The Ben Simmons drama continues. ESPN reports that Simmons has not accepted help from the organization to address his mental readiness to play. Philadelphia fined Simmons for missing games, practices and meetings earlier this season but stopped on October 22nd when he said he wasn't mentally ready to play.

Chris Paul Moves To Third In NBA's All-Time Assists List

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Chris Paul is moving up on the list the NBA's greatest passers. The Phoenix Suns guard surpassed Steve Nash to move to Number-3 in the league's all-time assists list. Paul finished the game with 18 assists, pushing his total to 10,346 for his career. He now sits behind only John Stockton and Jason Kidd, both of whom are members of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Blazers Lose To Shorthanded 76ers

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Trail Blazers couldn't find a way to beat the 76ers without two of their best players. Portland lost to the 76ers 113-103 in Philly. Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris did not play for Philadelphia. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum both scored 20, but both shot under 50-percent. Norman Powell impressed with an efficient 22 points and Anfernee Simons had 17 off the bench. The 3-and-4 Blazers play the Cavaliers in Cleveland tomorrow night.

Lakers Host Rockets, Kings Visit Jazz

(Undated) -- The Lakers are looking for their third straight win as they host the Rockets tonight in Los Angeles. The two teams meet again after LA beat Houston 95-85 on Sunday night. Elsewhere, the Kings are on the road as they visit the Jazz tonight in Salt Lake City. Sacramento comes off a 105-99 loss to the Mavericks, but sit at 3-and-3 on the season.

Russell Wilson Has Pin Removed From Finger

(Renton, WA) -- Russell Wilson is one step closer to getting back on the field. Wilson had the pin removed from his right middle finger, the same finger that he injured earlier this season. The Seattle quarterback injured his finger when his hand hit Aaron Donald in the Seahawks Week Five loss to the Rams. Seattle has gone 1-and-2 in Wilson's absence.

Braves Try To Close Out World Series In Game Six

(Houston, TX) -- The Braves will try to close out the World Series in Game Six tonight in Houston. Max Fried  will take the mound for Atlanta, which is chasing its first title since 1995. Luis Garcia will get the ball for the Astros. Houston forced a Game Six after winning 9-5 on the road in Game Five.

NCAA Suspends Illinois Center Cockburn

(Champaign, IL) -- The Fighting Illini men's basketball team will be without one of their top players to begin the season. The NCAA suspended center Kofi Cockburn [[ CO-burn ]] for the first three games of the season for selling apparel and memorabilia. Cockburn sold the items in June, less than a month before name, image, and likeness legislation was enacted in Illinois on July 1st.

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Trail Blazers didn't have it against the Hornets yesterday. Portland lost to the Hornets 125-113 in Charlotte. CJ McCollum led the Blazers with 25 points and Anfernee Simons added 19 points off the bench. Damian Lillard had 14 points and 12 assists, but shot 5-of-20 from the floor. Portland plays the 76ers in Philadelphia tonight.

College Football Roundup

(Undated) -- The Ducks, Cougars and Huskies each picked up wins on Saturday. Wazzu pounded Arizona State 34-21 in Tempe, number-7 Oregon trounced Colorado 52-29 in Eugene, and Washington came from behind to beat Stanford in Palo Alto. Oregon State fell to the Cal Golden Bears 39-25 in Berkeley.

Saints Take Down Buccaneers

(New Orleans, LA) -- The Saints are picking up a big win over the defending champs. P.J. Williams returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the victory as the Saints defeated the Buccaneers 36-27 in New Orleans. Trevor Siemian threw a touchdown in place of Jameis Winston, who left the game with a potentially "significant" knee injury. Tom Brady threw four touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss for the Buccaneers.

Astros Top Braves, Force World Series Game Six

(Cumberland, GA) -- The Astros are forcing a Game Six of the World Series. Houston defeated the Braves 9-5 in Game Five in Cumberland. Martin Maldonado drove in three runs for the Astros. Adam Duvall hit a grand slam for the Braves, who have a 3-2 series lead. Game Six in Houston on Tuesday.

Alex Bowman Wins NASCAR At Martinsville, Championship Four Set

(Ridgeway, VA) -- Alex Bowman is going home with a win and a fresh new feud. Bowman took home the win at the NASCAR Xfinity 500 at Martinsville. After the win, Bowman attempted to celebrate but Denny Hamlin refused to let him by blocking his car. Hamlin took issue with how Bowman raced him toward the end.

Lucas Herbert Wins Butterfield Bermuda Championship

(Bermuda) -- Lucas Herbert is celebrating his first career PGA Tour victory at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The Aussie shot a 69 in the final round to finish the tournament atop the leaderboard at 15-under par. Patrick Reed and Danny Lee tied for second place at 14-under. Patrick Rodgers finished one stroke behind them for sole possession of fourth place.
