(Seattle, WA) -- The Huskies have a new football coach. Washington hired Fresno State head coach Kalen DeBoer on Monday. DeBoer comes off a 9-and-3 season with Fresno and was the offensive coordinator for the Indiana Hoosiers in 2019. He was also the three-time NAIA National Coach of the Year at the University of Sioux Falls in the 2000s and left that job with a 67-and-3 record. DeBoer replaces Jimmy Lake, who was fired by U-dub on November 14th after less than two seasons in charge.

(Jupiter, FL) -- Tiger Woods says he won't play on the PGA Tour "full-time, ever again." Woods is still recovering from what could have been a fatal single car crash in California last February, and tells Golf Digest he'll probably just "pick and choose" a few events a year moving forward. Woods added "it's an unfortunate reality" as he continues to rehab after his serious leg injures. Woods has 15 major championships, just three behind all time record holder Jack Nicklaus.

(Landover, MD) -- The Seahawks visit the Washington Football Team on Monday Night Football. Washington is 4-and-6, but it has won its past two games. Taylor Heinicke guides the offense with 15 touchdown passes, while Antonio Gibson leads the ground game with 601 yards and five scores. The Seahawks are struggling this season at 3-and-7 and have lost five of their past six games. Russell Wilson has played in two games since returning from his finger injury, but Seattle's offense has struggled with just 13 points in those two games.

(New York, NY) -- The NBA is suspending LeBron James for the first time in his 19-year career. The league announced Monday that James and Pistons center Isaiah Stewart were each suspended for their altercation that took place during Sunday's game. James hit Stewart in the face during a box out attempt, leading to his ejection from the game. James was dealt a one-game suspension, while Stewart was suspended for two games.

Daniel Jones managed only 167 passing yards, a TD and two picks.

The Beavers ground out a 24-10 win over ASU on Saturday night, while U-dub lost to Colorado 20-17. On Friday night, the Cougs earned bowl eligibility with a 44-18 win over Arizona.

Sebastián Blanco scored two second half goals in the Timbers' win. Blanco scored in the 46th and 66th minutes and actually left the game briefly with an injury. (Undated) -- The NCAA is expanding the field of teams that will participate in the women's college basketball tournament. Starting this season, an additional four teams will be invited to play in the tournament, bringing the total number of schools to 68. The day of the women's selection show has also been changed to accommodate for the extra games. The show will now be held on Sunday March 13th instead of the traditional Monday broadcast.

(Green Bay, WI) -- The highly-anticipated returns of Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson resulted in a defensive struggle. The Packers ground out a 17-0 win over the Seahawks in Green Bay. Rodgers was solid in his comeback from COVID-19 protocol, throwing for 292 yards and one interception. Kevin King and Adrian Amos each picked off Wilson in the end zone. Wilson had arguably his worst game of his career, completing 20-of-40 passes for 161 yards and two interceptions. Seattle's defense was led by Jamal Adams who had 11 tackles and an interception. This is the first time a Russell Wilson-led Seahawks team has been shut out. Green Bay moves to 8-and-2 and Seattle drops to 3-and-6.

Wayne Ellington hit 5 threes as he chipped in 15 off the bench. The Spurs drop to 4-and-9.

Stephen Curry added 25 for the Warriors, who improve to 10-and-1. Anthony Edwards had a career high 48 points for the Timberwolves. Minnesota drops to 3-and-7.

(San Antonio, TX) -- The Kings couldn't get many stops on defense as they went on to lose 136-117 to the Spurs in San Antonio. De'Aaron Fox scored a season-high 37 points for Sacramento, which dropped to 5-and-7. Buddy Hield added 12 points, but shot only 5-for-14 from the field. Tyrese Haliburton missed his second straight game due to lower back tightness. The Spurs hit 18 3-point shots as they improved to 5-and-7.

Russell Westbrook racked up 25 points, 14 assists and 12 rebounds for his second straight triple double. He was aided by Malik Monk, who scored a season-high 27 points off the bench. Anthony Davis added 24 points and 13 rebounds for Los Angeles, which improved to 7-and-5.

(Miami Gardens, FL) -- The Ravens will look to invade South Beach when they visit the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football. Baltimore enters the game at 6-and-2 after a thrilling overtime win over the Vikings at home. The Ravens are first in the AFC North. The Dolphins meanwhile are struggling at the bottom of the AFC East. Despite a win over the Texans this past Sunday, Miami is just 2-and-7 on the season.

(Houston, TX) -- The first round of the Houston Open is teeing off Thursday. Six Americans will get the day started as the first group. Jason Dufner, Kyle Stanley, Russell Henley, Bronson Burgoon, Scott Stallings, and Kelly Kraft begin the tournament. Last year's champion Carlos Ortiz will not be participating in this year's Houston Open. Viktor Hovland will also not be participating after he came away with last week's WWT Championship.

(Eugene, OR) -- Ducks quarterback Anthony Brown is getting some recognition. Brown was named a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award. He was the only Pac-12 quarterback nominated for the award. Marcus Mariota won the award in 2014. Oregon offensive lineman Ryan Walk was named a semifinalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, which honors the top college football player who started his career as a walk-on.

The game has been rescheduled for December 4th, a day after the Pac-12 championship game.

The number-12 Ducks topped Texas Southern 83-66, the Beavers outlasted Portland State 73-64, the Cougars defeated Alcorn State 85-67, and the top-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs trounced Dixie State 97-63. Washington on the other hand, lost to Northern Illinois 71-64 in Seattle.

The driver had returned this year after being suspended by NASCAR for use of a racial slur during an e-sports game. Martin Truex Jr. finished in second. Denny Hamlin took third while Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five.

(Undated) -- The Portland Trail Blazers are looking into allegations of workplace misconduct on the part of the team's president of basketball operations, Neil Olshey. The Trail Blazers confirmed on Saturday that an independent investigator had been brought in to handle the matter. The team released a brief statement saying they are committed "to continuing to build an organization that positively impacts our colleagues, communities and the world in which we live and play."

(Quintana Roo, Mexico) -- Viktor Hovland is defending his title at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in Mexico. It was the first time Mayakoba has had a repeat winner since it began in 2007. Hovland finished the tournament 23-under, four strokes ahead of Carlos Ortiz, who took second place at 19-under. Justin Thomas finished third at 18-under.

Rolovich, the former head football coach at Wazzu, has filed an appeal to the university for being fired for not complying with Washington state's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. One of Rolovich's main sticking points in the appeal was that the University did not allow him to forgo the vaccine due to his religious beliefs.

(Quintana Roo, Mexico) -- Matthew Wolff is leading the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba after the first round. Wolff shot a 61 on the first day of the tournament to finish atop the leaderboard at ten-under par. Aaron Wise is in second place at eight-under par. Sergio Garcia, Talor Gooch, Chris Kirk, and Billy Horschel are in a four-way tie for third place at seven-under par.

(Avondale, AZ) -- The NASCAR Cup Series Championship race will take place from Phoenix Raceway on Sunday. Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Chase Elliott, and Martin Truex Jr. are all chasing a title. Elliott enters the race as the defending champion from last season.

(Cleveland, OH) -- The Trail Blazers ended their road trip with a loss. Portland lost to the Cavaliers 107-104 in Cleveland. Damian Lillard shot 10-of-27 to score 26 points, Norman Powell added 23 points and CJ McCollum chipped in with 21 points. The Blazers host the Indiana Pacers tomorrow night.

(San Francisco, CA) -- The Warriors made sure they weren't stung by the Hornets at home. Jordan Poole scored 31 points as the Warriors swatted away the Hornets 114-92 in San Francisco. Stephen Curry added 15 for Golden State, which is 6-and-1. Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 32 points. Gordon Hayward added 23 for Charlotte, which is 5-and-4 on the season.

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Mike White and Jets are looking for a second straight win as they visit the Colts in Indianapolis for a Thursday Night showdown. White guided New York to a surprise win over the Bengals in Week Eight, throwing for 405 yards and three touchdowns. Indianapolis is looking for some answers after a gut-wrenching loss to the Titans in overtime last week.

(San Francisco, CA) -- San Francisco Giants Catcher Buster Posey is retiring. Multiple reports say the 34-year-old veteran and three-time World Series champion will make it official on Thursday. Posey has had a decorated career with the Giants, winning the National League Rookie of the Year in 2010. He was the NL Comeback Player of the Year and league MVP in 2012.

(Houston, TX) -- The Atlanta Braves are 2021 World Series Champions. Atlanta defeated the Astros 7-0 in Game Six of the World Series in Houston. Jorge Soler, Dansby Swanson, and Freddie Freeman homered for the Braves. Max Fried pitched six scoreless innings to pick up the win for Atlanta. The Astros finished with just six hits. It's the first championship for the Braves since 1995.

Braves outfielder Jorge Soler is being recognized for his efforts in helping lead Atlanta to a World Series victory over the Astros. Soler was named the Willie Mays World Series MVP. The outfielder and designated hitter hit three home runs in the series for Atlanta over the six games. Soler is also the second Cuban to win the World Series MVP.

(Undated) -- The Oregon Ducks are the fourth-ranked team in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season. Georgia is number-one, followed by Alabama, Michigan State and Oregon. Ohio State is fifth, while Cincinnati, Michigan, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and Notre Dame round out the top-10.

(Camden, NJ) -- The Ben Simmons drama continues. ESPN reports that Simmons has not accepted help from the organization to address his mental readiness to play. Philadelphia fined Simmons for missing games, practices and meetings earlier this season but stopped on October 22nd when he said he wasn't mentally ready to play.

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Chris Paul is moving up on the list the NBA's greatest passers. The Phoenix Suns guard surpassed Steve Nash to move to Number-3 in the league's all-time assists list. Paul finished the game with 18 assists, pushing his total to 10,346 for his career. He now sits behind only John Stockton and Jason Kidd, both of whom are members of the Basketball Hall of Fame.

(Philadelphia, PA) -- The Trail Blazers couldn't find a way to beat the 76ers without two of their best players. Portland lost to the 76ers 113-103 in Philly. Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris did not play for Philadelphia. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum both scored 20, but both shot under 50-percent. Norman Powell impressed with an efficient 22 points and Anfernee Simons had 17 off the bench. The 3-and-4 Blazers play the Cavaliers in Cleveland tomorrow night.

(Undated) -- The Lakers are looking for their third straight win as they host the Rockets tonight in Los Angeles. The two teams meet again after LA beat Houston 95-85 on Sunday night. Elsewhere, the Kings are on the road as they visit the Jazz tonight in Salt Lake City. Sacramento comes off a 105-99 loss to the Mavericks, but sit at 3-and-3 on the season.

(Renton, WA) -- Russell Wilson is one step closer to getting back on the field. Wilson had the pin removed from his right middle finger, the same finger that he injured earlier this season. The Seattle quarterback injured his finger when his hand hit Aaron Donald in the Seahawks Week Five loss to the Rams. Seattle has gone 1-and-2 in Wilson's absence.

(Houston, TX) -- The Braves will try to close out the World Series in Game Six tonight in Houston. Max Fried  will take the mound for Atlanta, which is chasing its first title since 1995. Luis Garcia will get the ball for the Astros. Houston forced a Game Six after winning 9-5 on the road in Game Five.

(Champaign, IL) -- The Fighting Illini men's basketball team will be without one of their top players to begin the season. The NCAA suspended center Kofi Cockburn [[ CO-burn ]] for the first three games of the season for selling apparel and memorabilia. Cockburn sold the items in June, less than a month before name, image, and likeness legislation was enacted in Illinois on July 1st.

(Charlotte, NC) -- The Trail Blazers didn't have it against the Hornets yesterday. Portland lost to the Hornets 125-113 in Charlotte. CJ McCollum led the Blazers with 25 points and Anfernee Simons added 19 points off the bench. Damian Lillard had 14 points and 12 assists, but shot 5-of-20 from the floor. Portland plays the 76ers in Philadelphia tonight.

(Undated) -- The Ducks, Cougars and Huskies each picked up wins on Saturday. Wazzu pounded Arizona State 34-21 in Tempe, number-7 Oregon trounced Colorado 52-29 in Eugene, and Washington came from behind to beat Stanford in Palo Alto. Oregon State fell to the Cal Golden Bears 39-25 in Berkeley.

(New Orleans, LA) -- The Saints are picking up a big win over the defending champs. P.J. Williams returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the victory as the Saints defeated the Buccaneers 36-27 in New Orleans. Trevor Siemian threw a touchdown in place of Jameis Winston, who left the game with a potentially "significant" knee injury. Tom Brady threw four touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss for the Buccaneers.

(Cumberland, GA) -- The Astros are forcing a Game Six of the World Series. Houston defeated the Braves 9-5 in Game Five in Cumberland. Martin Maldonado drove in three runs for the Astros. Adam Duvall hit a grand slam for the Braves, who have a 3-2 series lead. Game Six in Houston on Tuesday.

(Ridgeway, VA) -- Alex Bowman is going home with a win and a fresh new feud. Bowman took home the win at the NASCAR Xfinity 500 at Martinsville. After the win, Bowman attempted to celebrate but Denny Hamlin refused to let him by blocking his car. Hamlin took issue with how Bowman raced him toward the end.

(Bermuda) -- Lucas Herbert is celebrating his first career PGA Tour victory at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The Aussie shot a 69 in the final round to finish the tournament atop the leaderboard at 15-under par. Patrick Reed and Danny Lee tied for second place at 14-under. Patrick Rodgers finished one stroke behind them for sole possession of fourth place.
