(Houston, TX) -- Anfernee Simons made a trey with three seconds left to put the Trail Blazers within one point, but they couldn't catch up and fell 104-101 to the Rockets in Houston. Damian Lillard led Portland with 30 points. Gary Trent Junior had 23 in the setback. Portland has lost two in a row to fall to 9-and-8.

NBA All-Star Voting Underway

OSU Falls To USC

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Ethan Thompson had 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists, but Oregon State fell to USC 75-62 in Los Angeles. Jarod Lucas added 18 points in the setback. The Beavers had their three-game streak snapped to fall to 8-and-6.

Texans QB Watson Requests Trade

(Houston, TX) -- Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is pushing for a trade. ESPN reports Watson requested a trade weeks ago and hasn't spoken to new head coach David Culley or new general manager Nick Caserio. The 25-year-old Watson was reportedly unhappy with the hiring process of Caserio, which led to the request. The three-time Pro Bowler is under contract through the 2025 season after signing a four-year, 156-million-dollar extension last year.

Report: Seahawks Hiring Waldron As OC

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks are reportedly hiring former Rams passing-game coordinator Shane Waldron as their next offensive coordinator. Waldron has coached in the NFL for seven years and spent the last four with Los Angeles. The Portland-native also worked in New England as offensive quality-control coach.

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Oregon State will be in Los Angeles tonight to face off with USC. The Beavers will remain in Southern California Saturday to take on number-21 UCLA. They sit at 8-and-5.

Seahawks Release Statement On OT Wheeler

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks are releasing a statement after disturbing details emerged about former offensive tackle Chad Wheeler's domestic violence case. The Seahawks say they are saddened to hear about the incident and strongly condemn this act of domestic violence. The statement added Wheeler is a free agent and no longer part of the team. Wheeler was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of felony assault-domestic violence. A police report shows a woman called police after Wheeler strangled her to the point of losing consciousness.

Wazzu Topped By Colorado

(Boulder, CO) -- Noah Williams scored 15 points in Washington State's 70-58 loss to Colorado in Boulder. TJ Bamba added 13 points and Dishon Jackson had 12 in the setback. The Cougars have lost six straight to dip to 9-and-7 and face off with Washington on Sunday.

Oregon Pauses Activities For Second Time This Month

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon basketball has paused all team activities for the second time this month due to COVID-19.  The 25th-ranked Ducks were set to play UCLA tomorrow and Monday and USC on Saturday, but all three games have been postponed.  Oregon's next scheduled game is a week from tomorrow against Washington State.

Blazers Visit Rockets Tomorrow

(Houston, TX)  --  The Trail Blazers begin a six-game trip tomorrow night against the Rockets in Houston.  Portland has split its past two games against the Knicks and Thunder to land at 9-and-7.  The Blazers will travel to Chicago this weekend.

(Boulder, CO)  --  Washington State will travel to take on Colorado tonight in Boulder.  The Cougars are on a five-game losing streak after falling to the Buffaloes over the weekend.  They sit at 9-and-6.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Oregon State will be in Los Angeles tomorrow afternoon to face off USC.  The Beavers will look to extend their three-game winning streak that got them to 8-and-5 overall and 4-and-3 in conference play.

No Players Elected For National Baseball Hall Of Fame

(Undated)  --  No players are heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the 2021 class.  All 25 players up for election fell short of the required 75-percent of the vote needed to make it to Cooperstown.  It marks the first time since 2013 that no player was selected and just the ninth time ever.  Curt Schilling was the highest vote-getter after receiving 71.1-percent of the vote.  Barry Bonds was next at 61.8-percent followed by Roger Clemens at 61.6-percent.

Kobe Bryant Murals Keep Legend's Spirit Alive Worldwide

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  A year after his passing, hundreds of murals are keeping Kobe Bryant's spirit alive both in Southern California and around the world.  Southern California is currently home to 237 murals paying respects to Kobe and his daughter Gianna, who also passed away a year ago yesterday.  There are 78 more pieces of public artwork on walls elsewhere in the United States.  Even more murals are in the works across the Los Angeles-area and will be unveiled this week. 

Wazzu Dropped By Utah

(Pullman, WA) -- Noah Williams scored a game-high 17 points but it wasn't enough as Washington State was dropped by Utah 71-56 in Pullman. Efe Abogidi contributed 12 points in the loss for the Cougars, who have lost four straight to dip to 9-and-5. They'll host Colorado tomorrow.

Blazers' Second Game Postponed

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers have had a second game postponed after ongoing COVID-19 issues on the Grizzlies' team. Portland was scheduled to face Memphis tonight. The Blazers' will now return to the court Sunday to host the Knicks. They're 8-and-6 while New York is 7-and-8.

Washington Hosts Utah Sunday

(Seattle, WA) -- Washington will welcome Utah to Seattle on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies stunned Colorado 84-80 on Wednesday to snap an eight-game losing streak and get to 2-and-11. The Utes are 5-and-6.

(Eugene, OR) -- Number-21 Oregon will host in-state rival Oregon State tomorrow night in Eugene. The Ducks have split their past two games against Colorado and Utah to land at 9-and-2 overall and 4-and-1 in conference play. The Beavers are 7-and-5 and 3-and-3.

Blazers Game Postponed

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers' scheduled game against the Grizzlies last night has been postponed due to contract training on Memphis' team.  The Grizzlies did not have the league-required eight players to take the court.  Portland is scheduled to face Memphis tomorrow.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number 21 Oregon will face in-state rival Oregon State on Saturday night in Eugene.  The Ducks are eager to return after having their past three games postponed due to COVID-19 issues.  They sit at 9-and-2.  The Beavers upset USC on Tuesday to get to 7-and-5.

Wazzu Hosts Utah Tonight

(Pullman, WA)  --  Washington State will look to end its three-game skid when it hosts Utah tonight.  The Cougars started the season 8-and-0, but have struggled against Pac-12 opponents and sit at 2-and-4 in conference play.  The Utes are 5-and-6.

Washington Stuns Colorado

(Seattle, WA)  --  Erik Stevenson put up 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Washington exacted revenge on its Pac-12 opponent by stunning number-23 Colorado 84-80.  The Huskies sit at just 2-and-11 and were routed by the Buffaloes 92-69 earlier this season.  Jamal Bey added 14 points as U-Dub ended its eight-game skid. 

Pac-12 Parts Ways With Commissioner Larry Scott

(San Francisco, CA) -- The Pac-12 and commissioner Larry Scott are parting ways. Multiple reports say Scott will leave his post on June 30th.  A search for a new commissioner will begin immediately with the plan to have one in place when Scott exits. The 56-year-old Scott has served as Pac-12 commissioner since 2009.

Blazers Host Grizzlies Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will face off with the Grizzlies for two games starting tonight in Portland.  The Blazers have dropped two of their past three games to land at 8-and-6.  They'll face Memphis again on Friday.

OSU Clips USC

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Rodrigue Andela made both free throws with 1:49 left to break a 56-all tie and put Oregon State ahead for good as it beat USC 58-56 in Corvallis.  Ethan Thompson and Jarod Lucas each dropped 13 points for the Beavers, who improve to 7-and-5.  They'll face off with number 21 Oregon on Saturday.

Thomas Will Be First Woman SB Official

(Tampa, FL)  --  NFL referee Sarah Thomas will become the first woman to officiate the Super Bowl in league history on February 7th.  Thomas will be the down judge in the seven-person crew of on-field officials in Tampa Bay.  Thomas is in her sixth season as an NFL referee.

Lewis Named To PFWA All-Rookie Team

(Seattle, WA)  --  Right guard Damien Lewis was the only Seahawk on the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team this year.  Lewis ended the season with a 91 percent pass block win rate, which was second-best among rookies. 

McCollum Out Another Week

(Portland, OR)  --  Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum will be out for at least another week with a sprained foot.  McCollum will be re-evaluated next week to determine a timeline for his return.  He was averaging a career-high 26.7 points and five assists this season.

Blazers Fall To Spurs

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers kept the game close through the first three quarters, but the Spurs ran away in the fourth to win 125-104 in Portland.  Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 35 points.  Portland is 8-and-6 and will host the Grizzlies tomorrow.

Warriors Rally From 14 Down In Fourth To Stun Lakers

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Warriors rallied from 14 down in the fourth quarter to beat the Lakers 115-113 in Los Angeles.  Steph Curry scored 26 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 23 for Golden State.  The Warriors trailed 97-83 before going on a 32-to-13 run to take a five-point lead.  LeBron James missed a three at the buzzer for LA, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.  James had 19 points and Dennis Schroder 25 for the Lakers, who are 11-and-4 with all four losses coming at home.

NFL Cancels Formal Combine

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  The NFL says college players won't gather in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine this year due to COVID-19.  The Combine has been held annually since 1987 but will have a different format this year.  Player workouts will be held on individual pro days across college campuses.  League personnel will be able to virtually attend the workouts and interviews.

Oregon Resumes Activities, Drops To Number-21

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon basketball has resumed all team activities after a week-long pause due to COVID-19 issues within the program.  The Ducks fell four spots in this week's Coaches Poll to number-21 after being upset by Colorado. They'll return to the court Saturday to take on Oregon State.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Warith Alatishe dunked with four seconds left to lift Oregon State over Arizona State 80-79 at Gill Coliseum on Saturday.  Ethan Thompson put up 17 points, 15 in the second half.  Jarod Lucas led with 18 points for the Beavers, who are 6-and-5.

Blazers Host Spurs Today

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will welcome the Spurs to Moda Center this afternoon.  Portland rallied to beat the Hawks 112-106 on Saturday to jump to 8-and-5, which is second behind Utah in the Northwest.  San Antonio is 7-and-6.

Gordon Suspended Indefinitely Again

(Seattle, WA)  --  Seahawks wide receiver Josh Gordon was suspended indefinitely by the league again over the weekend.  The NFL rescinded his conditional reinstatement after he reportedly violated the substance-abuse policy.  Gordon was suspended in December 2019, his sixth suspension since 2013, before being reinstated last month.

Wazzu Falls To USC

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Isaac Bonton dropped 27 points, but it wasn't enough as Washington State fell to USC 85-77 in Los Angeles on Saturday.  Dishon Jackson and Noah Williams each added 14 points in the setback.  The Cougars dip to 9-and-4.

Washington Edged By UCLA

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Quade Green made a layup with eight seconds to go to put Washington within three points, but it couldn't catch up and fell 81-76 to UCLA in Los Angeles.  Green scored a game-high 25 points and had five rebounds and five assists in the loss.  Hameir Wright added 15 points for the Huskies, who have lost eight in a row to fall to 1-and-11.

Blazers Routed By Pacers

(Portland, OR)  --  CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard each scored 22 points for the Trail Blazers, but they were routed 111-87 by the Pacers at  Moda Center.  Portland also lost center Jusuf Nurkic, who suffered a wrist fracture in the third quarter.  The Blazers were just 13-of-43 from three after leading the league in three-pointers through 11 games.  They'll host the Hawks tomorrow.

Washington Crushed By USC

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Erik Stevenson put up 16 points and four rebounds, but Washington was crushed by USC 95-68 in Los Angeles.  Jamal Bey added 11 points, while Nate Roberts had 10 points and eight boards in the loss.  The Huskies have lost seven straight to drop to 1-and-10.

Wazzu Stomped By UCLA

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Isaac Bonton was the only Cougar to score in double digits with 23 points as Washington State was stomped on by UCLA 91-61 in Los Angeles.  Noah Williams added nine points in the loss for the Cougars, who have lost two in a row to fall to 9-and-3.  They'll visit USC tomorrow.

Oregon State Rolled Over By Arizona

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State was down 47-21 by the end of the first half and was thrashed by Arizona 98-64 at Gill Coliseum.  Ethan Thompson led the Beavers with 13 points.  Jarod Lucas added 12 points.  Oregon State drops to 5-and-5 and hosts Arizona State tomorrow.

(Seattle, WA)  --  After the Seahawks parted ways with Brian Schottenheimer, Russell Wilson says it's critical he's involved in the search for the new offensive coordinator.  Wilson says it's "imperative" because of the stage of his career and it's important he and head coach Pete Carroll are on the same page.

Gonzaga Rolls Past Pepperdine

(Spokane, WA)  --  Corey Kispert dropped 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds as first-ranked Gonzaga rolled past Pepperdine 95-70 in Spokane.  Drew Timme contributed 20 points and Joel Ayayi added 19 for the Bulldogs, who remain undefeated at 13-and-0.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Washington and Washington State will travel to Los Angeles tonight to take on USC and UCLA.  The Huskies will take on the Trojans tonight and the Bruins on Saturday.  The Cougars will do the opposite and face UCLA tonight.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State will host Arizona at Gill Coliseum tonight.  The Beavers had their three-game winning streak snapped by Stanford last week to dip to 5-and-4.  They had their past two games against Utah and Colorado postponed due to COVID-19 issues.

Blazers Hold Off Kings

(Sacramento, CA)  --  Damian Lillard's game-high 40 points and 13 assists helped the Trail Blazers hold off the Kings 132-126 in Sacramento.  CJ McCollum dropped 28 points.    Jusuf Nurkic had 18 points and 13 boards.  Portland jumps to 7-and-4 and will return home tonight to host Indiana.

Seahawks Security Manager Fired

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks have fired security manager Aaron Miyasato after he was arrested on child pornography charges earlier this week.  He had worked for the team since 2011.  Miyasato was allegedly in possession of over 25-thousand illegal images and videos.

Gonzaga Hosts Pepperdine Tonight

(Spokane, WA)  --  Top-ranked Gonzaga will welcome Pepperdine to the McCarthey Athletic Center tonight.  The Bulldogs remain undefeated at 12-and-0 after crushing Portland last weekend.  The Waves are 4-and-5.

Oregon Hoops Paused Due To COVID-19

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon men's basketball is hitting the pause button.  Multiple outlets report the Ducks have halted all team activities due to COVID-19 issues.  Oregon will miss home games this week against Arizona State and Arizona.  The Ducks' next scheduled game is next Tuesday against UCLA.

Seahawks Extend GM/Executive VP Schneider Through 2027

(Renton, WA)  --  The Seahawks are locking up general manager and executive vice president John Schneider.  The team has signed Schneider to a contract extension that keeps him in Seattle through 2027.  Schneider has helped lead the Seahawks to the playoffs nine times in his 11 seasons as GM.  Schneider's new deal lines up with head coach Pete Carroll's new contract he signed in November through 2025.

(Portland, OR) -- CJ McCollum made a jump shot with 9.9 seconds to go to lift the Trail Blazers to a 112-111 victory over the Raptors at Moda Center. McCollum finished with a game-high 30 points. Damian Lillard contributed 23 points for Portland, which improves to 6-and-4. The Blazers visit the Kings tomorrow.

Gonzaga First In Coaches' Poll For Sixth Straight Week

(Undated) -- Gonzaga is number one in the college basketball Top-25 Coaches Poll for the sixth straight week. The 12-and-0 Bulldogs received 29 of the 32 first-place votes to retain the top spot. Baylor, Villanova and Texas remain second through fourth.

Adams To Undergo Offseason Surgeries

(Seattle, WA) -- Seahawks strong safety Jamal Adams will have to undergo multiple surgeries this offseason. He'll get surgery to repair a torn left labrum and on two broken fingers on his left hand. Adams led the Seahawks with 9.5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss this season. Seattle acquired Adams from the Jets last year.

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers will look to extend their winning streak when they welcome the Raptors to the Moda Center tonight. Portland won both its games over the weekend to jump to 5-and-4. Toronto is 2-and-6.

Seahawks Heading Into Busy Offseason

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks may look a little different next season as they head into the offseason with 24 unrestricted free agents. That includes key players like Chris Carson, Shaquill Griffin, David Moore, K.J. Wright and Jacob Hollister. Wright and Griffin have both expressed their desire to stay in Seattle. Griffin also got emotional when talking about how special it has been to play alongside his twin brother, Shaquem, for the past three years.

Seahawks Knocked Off By Rams

(Seattle, WA) -- Russell Wilson was held to just 174 yards passing and two touchdowns as the Seahawks were knocked off by the Rams 30-20 in Saturday's NFC Wild Card game at Lumen Field. Wilson was also sacked five times and threw an interception. DK Metcalf caught both scoring passes, including one with 2:28 to go but the 'Hawks couldn't catch up. Seattle ends the season at 12-and-5 overall.

Warriors Edge Raptors

(San Francisco, CA) -- Damion Lee made a go-ahead free throw with 4.3 seconds remaining as the Warriors edged the Raptors 106-105 in San Francisco. The Warriors held a 17-point lead in the final frame before Toronto made an attempt at a rally. Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 17 points. Eric Paschall added 15 off the bench for Golden State, which moves to 6-and-4. Pascal Siakam [[ see-AH-kum ]] led the Raptors with 25 points, but missed a potential game-winning shot as time expired. Fred VanVleet provided 21 in the setback as Toronto fell to 2-and-7.

Rams, Seahawks Meet For Third Time This Season

(Seattle, WA) -- NFC West foes will meet for the third time this season as the Rams square off with the Seahawks in a wild card matchup Saturday in Seattle. The Seahawks claimed the division title with a 12-and-4 record. Seattle won its final four games and six of its final seven. The Seahawks split their two meetings with the Rams during the regular season.

Gonzaga Cruises Past BYU

(Spokane, WA) -- Corey Kispert scored 23 points as first-ranked Gonzaga cruised past BYU 86-69 in Spokane. Jalen Suggs added 16 points. Drew Timme and Andrew Nembhard each had 12 points in the win. The Bulldogs are 10-and-0 and visit Portland tomorrow.

(Portland, OR) -- Damian Lillard went off for 39 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals to help the Trail Blazers cruise past the Timberwolves 135-117 at the Moda Center. CJ McCollum put up 20 points. Portland improves to 4-and-4 and will visit the Kings tomorrow.

Mayor Durkan Optimistic About NBA Return

(Seattle, WA) -- Seattle mayor Jenny Durkan says she is optimistic about landing an expansion NBA team to replace the SuperSonics. Durkan spoke with NBA commissioner Adam Silver, who has shown interest in adding an expansion franchise. David Bonderman, the majority owner of the Kraken, says he would join a bid on an expansion team to share Climate Pledge Arena.

Oregon Upset By Colorado

(Boulder, CO) -- Chris Duarte scored a game-high 27 points, but it wasn't enough as number 15 Oregon was upset by Colorado 79-72 in Boulder. (Berkeley, CA) -- Washington State will be in Berkeley tonight to face Cal. The Cougars suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday to Arizona to drop to 8-and-1. The Golden Bears are 5-and-6.

(Spokane, WA) -- Top-ranked Gonzaga will welcome BYU to the McCarthey Athletic Center tonight. The Bulldogs were originally scheduled to play Santa Clara, but that game was postponed due to COVID-19 issues. They remain undefeated at 10-and-0 while the Cougars are 9-and-2.

Seahawks Face Rams Saturday

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks will face off with the Rams on Saturday in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Seattle is 1-and-1 against Los Angeles this season, most recently beating the Rams in Week 16. Blazers Edged By Bulls

In college basketball tomorrow, number-15 Oregon will visit Colorado. Washington will be at Stanford. Washington State will visit Cal. First-ranked Gonzaga will host BYU tomorrow instead of Santa Clara.

(Corvallis, OR) -- Oregon State has postponed its upcoming games against Utah and Colorado due to a COVID-19 outbreak. The Beavers have also paused all team activities. Their next scheduled game is a week from tomorrow at home against Arizona.

(Seattle, WA) -- Washington has landed three-star Ohio point guard Dominiq Penn. He has enrolled at U-Dub and is eligible to begin appearing in games immediately. Penn averaged 11.2 points and 4.5 assists as a senior in high school.

(Corvallis, OR) -- Jarod Lucas scored 22 points, but it wasn't enough as Oregon State was edged by Stanford 81-71 at Gill Coliseum. Gianni Hunt added 17 points for the Beavers, who fall to 5-and-4. They'll visit Utah tomorrow.

Seahawks Face Off With Rams In Wild Card

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks are gearing up to face the division rival Rams at Lumen Field on Saturday. Seattle earned the number-three seed in the NFC with four straight wins, including beating the Rams to end the regular season 12-and-4. The Seahawks fell to Los Angeles in Week Ten.

Oregon Moves Up In Coaches Poll

(Eugene, OR) -- Oregon moved up two spots in this week's coaches poll to number-15 after winning eight games in a row. The Ducks are 8-and-1 overall and 3-and-0 in conference play. They will play Thursday at Colorado.

Blazers Edged By Warriors

-- Damian Lillard dropped 32 points, but it wasn't a match for Steph Curry's 62 as the Trail Blazers fell to the Warriors 137-122 in San Francisco. CJ McCollum added 28 points and nine rebounds in defeat. Portland drops to 3-and-3 and will host the Bulls tomorrow

Oregon State Hosts Stanford Today

Oregon State will host Stanford at Gill Coliseum this afternoon. The Beavers got past Cal on Saturday to win their third straight and jump to 5-and-3. The Cardinal are 5-and-3.

Oregon Topped By Iowa State

Anthony Brown ran for two touchdowns in Oregon's 34-17 loss to number-12 Iowa State 34-17 in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale. Brown threw for 147 yards in the loss for the Ducks, who finish at 4-and-3.
