(Portland, OR)  --  After making two consecutive All-Star Games, Blazers guard Damian Lillard wasn't chosen as a reserve for this year's All-Star Team.  Lillard is averaging career-highs in points and assists.  The 25-year-old guard told the press that he was "expecting the worst".

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers homestand continues tonight as the Charlotte Hornets visit the Moda Center.  The Blazers have won six of their past eight games, and are 21-and-26 on the year.  This game is the fourth of a seven-game homestand.  Charlotte is 22-and-24.

(Tucson, AZ)  --  Dillon Brooks posted 24 points as number-24 Oregon ended 15th-ranked Arizona's 49-game home win streak with an 83-75 victory at the McKale Center.  With the score tied at 64 in the second half, the Ducks used an 8-0 run to pull ahead for good.  Dwayne Benjamin scored 15 points in the win.  Ryan Anderson finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, who hadn't lost at home since a February 2013 loss to Cal.  Arizona committed 19 turnovers in the loss.

(Tempe, AZ)  --  Arizona State took a 19-point halftime lead and never looked back as they knocked off Oregon State, 86-68 at Wells Fargo Arena last night.  Stephen Thompson Junior led the squad with 14 points off the bench.  Gary Payton the Second was 1-of-7 from the field and finished with two points and seven assists.  The 12-and-7 Beavers battle 15th-ranked Arizona tomorrow.

(Phoenix, AZ)  --  Former Oregon running back Derek Loville is facing federal drug dealing and racketeering charges after being indicted as part of an international narcotics ring.  Loville appeared before a judge in Phoenix on Wednesday and was released without bail.  Loville played eight seasons in the NFL, and won Super Bowls with the 49ers in 1994, and the Broncos in 1997 and 1998.  Loville is third all-time for the Ducks in rushing yards and total touchdowns.

(Portland, OR)  --  Timbers head coach Caleb Porter won't be leaving anytime soon.  The MLS Cup champions have announced that Porter has agreed to a long-term contract extension.  Porter, in his three seasons as coach, has twice led the Timbers to the MLS Cup playoffs, including the league title this past season.  He has an overall record of 41 wins, 25 losses, and 36 ties.  The Timbers haven't released details of the extension.

(Tempe, AZ)  --  Oregon State squares off with Arizona State tonight at Wells Fargo Arena.  The Beavers snapped a three-game skid by upsetting USC on Sunday.  The Beavers are 3-and-4 in the Pac-12 and 12-and-6 overall.  Arizona State is 11-and-9, with just one conference win.

(Renton, WA)  --  Seahawks offensive tackle Russell Okung will reportedly undergo surgery on a shoulder that was dislocated during Seattle's loss to Carolina in the NFC playoffs.  The report comes from CBS's Jason La Canfora via Twitter.  La Canfora says Okung, who will soon become an unrestricted free agent, informed all 32 NFL teams of his impending surgery and said he expects to be ready to hit the field again in June.  His contract with the Seahawks expires on March 9th.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers are in sole possession of second place in the Northwest standings after last night's 112-97 win at home over Sacramento.  The Blazers' defense was able to hold DeMarcus Cousins to 17 points, after he scored 56 and 48 points in the Kings' previous two games.  C.J. McCollum scored 18 points for Portland, and Damian Lillard added 15 with 13 assists.  The Blazers will host Charlotte Friday night.
 

(Undated)  --  Oregon and Oregon State tip respective Arizona trips tomorrow.  The 24th-ranked Ducks visit 15th-ranked Arizona before heading up to Tempe and facing Arizona State.  The Beavers play the Sun Devils and head down to Tucson to play the Wildcats.

(Cheney, WA)  --  Portland State hoops is on the road tomorrow visiting Eastern Washington.  The Vikings are 7-and-10 after their 81-63 victory over Sacramento State.  The Eagles are 9-and-10 overall.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State guard Gary Payton the Second is on a prestigious watch list.  Payton is one-of-20 players up for the USBWA National Player of the Year.  He is averaging 17.5 points, 5.3 assists and 8.4 rebounds this season.

(Beaverton, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers will have a new logo on their kits this season.  Timbers owner Merritt Paulson tweeted a picture  teasing the club's new second jersey.  The kit featured a championship star embroidered above the Timbers' crest on the red and black jersey.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers welcome the Kings to the Moda Center in a key matchup as they battle it out for the eight seed in the Western Conference.  Sacramento holds a one-game lead on Portland with a 20-and-24 record.  The Blazers are 20-and-26.

(Tempe, AZ)  -- Oregon State tries to win two consecutive conference games for the first time this season on Thursday at Arizona State.  The Beavers ended a three-game losing streak with a 15-point win over USC on Sunday.  Oregon State is 12-and-6 and 3-and-4.

(Tucson, AZ)  --  Oregon tries to stay hot taking on Arizona in Tucson on Thursday.  The Ducks swept the Los Angeles-area schools at home to get to 16-and-4 and 5-and-1 in the Pac 12.  They face ASU on Sunday.

(Bellevue, WA)  --  Bellevue, Washington police are asking that Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman be charged with vehicular assault and hit-and-run in connection with an October 14th crash.  Investigators say Coleman admitted to smoking synthetic marijuana before the wreck that left another driver with a head injury.  SeattlePI.com reports the claims against Coleman have been forwarded to the King County Prosecutor's Office and a decision is expected in the next few weeks.  Coleman's attorney, Steve Hayne says the claim against Coleman is "irresponsible" and his client wasn't impaired at the time of the crash.

(Portland, OR)  --  Game three of a seven-game homestand tips off tomorrow for the Blazers, who will host the Kings at the Moda Center.  The Blazers are 1-and-1 so far on the homestand following a loss to Atlanta and Saturday's win over the Lakers.  DeMarcus Cousins and the Kings host the Hornets tonight.

(St. Petersburg, FL)  --  Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams Junior starred on Saturday as he led the West team to a 29-9 win in the East-West Shrine Game in Florida.  Adams tossed three touchdowns on just nine attempts, likely raising his draft stock for this spring's NFL Draft.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Freshman quarterback Seth Collins has announced his intentions to transfer from the Oregon State program.  Collins played in eight games for the Beavers this year, throwing for 935 yards, six touchdowns and four picks while rushing for 575 yards and three scores.  Collins ended up being switched to wide receiver as the season came to a close.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Dillon Brooks posted 25 points as Oregon topped UCLA, 86-72, on Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena.  Chris Boucher had 18 points and 10 boards for the 16-and-4 Ducks, who are now 5-and-2 in Pac-12 action.  Oregon visits Arizona on Thursday.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  The three-game losing streak is over for the Oregon State men's basketball team, who defeated USC in Corvallis, 85-70.  Gary Payton the Second had a big night for the Beavers, scoring 22 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists.  Tres Tinkle added 18 points for Oregon State.  The Beavers will visit Arizona State Thursday night.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Delisa Lynch, the mother of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, says she's not sure what the future holds for her son.  "Momma" Lynch was quoted by TMZ that her son still has gas left in the tank and will not retire.  But Ms. Lynch told KING-5 over the weekend that the report isn't true and that she doesn't know Marshawn's plans for the future.  Seahawks general manager John Schneider said last week he believes the star running back is "leaning toward retirement."

(Undated)  --  An ESPN report says Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse won't take a pay cut to stay in Seattle.  ESPN's Adam Schefter quotes Kearse as saying he's "put in too much hard work to give a discount."  Kearse, who's a Lakewood native and a former Washington Husky, will become an unrestricted free agent on March 15th and appears to intend to test his worth on the open market.  He caught eleven passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks' NFC Divisional Round loss to Carolina.
 

(Portland, OR)  --  Game two of a seven-game homestand tips off tomorrow night for the Blazers, who host the Lakers at the Moda Center.  Portland's home stretch will last through February 4th.  The next opponent following the Lakers will be the Kings on Tuesday.

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks knocked off 25th-ranked USC, 89-81, at Matthew Knight Arena last night.  Elgin Cook led the charge with 26 points for Oregon.  Dwayne Benjamin and Chris Boucher each scored 16 points as the Ducks improved to 15-and-4 overall and 4-and-2 in the Pac-12.  They'll host UCLA tomorrow.

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon battled USC last night, and the Beavers get their chance on Sunday when the Trojans come to Corvallis.  Oregon State is 11-and-6 on the year, with a 2-and-4 mark in Pac-12 play.  They'll try to halt a three-game skid.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens is one of four new members of the College Football Playoff selection committee.  The committee is tasked with ranking college football teams for the CFP poll, which decides who plays in the playoff.  Mullens will serve a three-year term.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Trail Blazers will try again Saturday to win their 20th game of the year, after falling at home to Atlanta, 104-98.  Portland was unable to overcome a slow start last night against the Hawks.  C.J. McCollum led the Blazers with 28 points.  Portland will host the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday night.
 

(Renton, WA)  --  Seahawks free safety Earl Thomas will be sitting out this year's Pro Bowl.  Thomas, who was selected to play in the Pro Bowl for the fifth straight year, has announced he won't be able to participate in the January 31st contest in Honolulu.  He says he's looking forward to getting his body fully healthy and working to bring another Super Bowl home to Seattle.  Thomas was one of seven Seahawks to be selected for this year's Pro Bowl.

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  Chip Kelly is in place as the new head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.  The former Ducks head coach was formally introduced yesterday and says it's a privilege to be the coach of such a prestigious franchise.  Kelly was 46-and-7 in four seasons as Oregon's head coach from 2009 to 2012.

(Eugene, OR)  --  The Oregon Ducks play host to the 25th-ranked USC Trojans tonight at Matthew Knight Arena.  The Ducks are 14-and-4 on the year and 3-and-2 in Pac-12 play.  The Trojans are 15-and-3 and 4-and-1 on the year.

(Charlotte, NC)  --  The season is over for the Seattle Seahawks, despite a valiant second-half effort.  The Carolina Panthers will head to the NFC Championship Game against Arizona, after holding off Seattle yesterday, 31-24, in the Divisional Round playoff game.  The Panthers built a 31-0 lead at halftime, but the Seahawks came back in the second half with 24 straight points before a failed onside kick attempt with a minute-12 to go in the game.  Russell Wilson finished the contest with 366 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and two interceptions.
