(Kansas City, MO)  --  The Oregon State Beavers look for the upset when they take on the second-ranked Kansas Jayhawks Saturday at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.  The Beavers come in at 6-and-1 on the season and are winners of two straight games.  A win would match the program's best start through eight games since 1980-81 team opened up 26-and-0.  Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. 

(Renton, WA)  --  The Seattle Seahawks will try to extend their three-game winning streak when they visit the Baltimore Ravens Sunday.  The Seahawks are looking to make a spot for themselves in the playoffs, while the Ravens are struggling, with a four-and-eight record.  Seattle is a nine-and-a-half-point favorite.  Kickoff Sunday is set for 10 a.m. 

(Boise, ID)  --  The 23rd-ranked Oregon Ducks hit the road to battle the Boise State Broncos Saturday at Taco Bell Arena.  The Ducks have started the season 10-and-1 and are coming off a 67-47 win over Navy Monday at Pearl Harbor.  The contest will be Oregon's first true road game.  Tipoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. 

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Winterhawks are back on home ice tonight when they take on the Prince George Cougars at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.  The Winterhawks are coming off a 7-5 win over the Silvertips Wednesday and hold the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with 28 points.  The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. 

(Eugene, OR)  --  With former offensive coordinator Scott Frost gone to Central Florida, Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich said he and wide receiver coach Matt Lubick will share play calling duties in the Valero Alamo Bowl.  Lubick could be auditioning for a promotion, as Frost was the wide receiver coach before taking over the coordinator position in 2013.  The 15th-ranked Ducks battle number-11 TCU at the Alamodome January 2nd. 

(Phoenix, AZ)  --  The Trail Blazers finish up a four-game road trip tonight when they take on the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena.  Portland has lost two straight games and is coming off a 105-100 loss to the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena Tuesday.  The Blazers sit at 9-and-14, good for second-to-last in the Northwest Division.  Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.

(Undated)  --  College basketball action returns Saturday as 23rd-ranked Oregon visits Boise State at Taco Bell Arena.  Meanwhile, 6-and-1 Oregon State faces off with number-seven Kansas in the Kansas City Shootout.  The Beavers and Ducks face each other on January 3rd in Corvallis. 

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State defensive coordinator Kalani Sitake has been contacted regarding the BYU head coach opening, according to the "Salt Lake Tribune".  BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe reached out to Sitake, who played fullback for the Cougars from 1997-2000.  Sitake joined OSU last December after spending 10 years on the staff at Utah.

(Undated)  --  Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner has been named a "USA Today" First-Team All-American.  Buckner recorded 16 tackles for a loss and nine-and-a-half sacks while being named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.  Oregon will face off with TCU on January 2nd in the Alamo Bowl.  

(Cleveland, OH)  --  The Cavaliers ended a three-game losing streak beating the Trail Blazers, 105-100, at Quicken Loans Arena.  Damian Lillard's 33 points, six assists and six rebounds wasn't enough for Portland, which fell to 9-and-14 despite leading by 18 in the second quarter.  The Blazers visit the Phoenix Suns Friday.  

(Fort Worth, TX)  --  The Oregon Ducks will face TCU at near full strength in the Alamo Bowl in January.  Horned Frogs top wide receiver Josh Doctson hopes to play even though his left wrist is still in a cast.  Doctson says he will have a follow-up exam on his surgically repaired wrist.  The senior has 79 catches for nearly 14-hundred-yards and 14 touchdowns this season. 

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers and their fans celebrated the team's MLS Cup title in downtown Portland.  In a party filled with vuvuzelas, singing and sawing of wood, the partiers reached the thousands.  The Timbers defeated the Columbus Crew 2-1 on Sunday to earn their first championship since joining the MLS in 2011.

(Beaverton, OR)  --  Nike is signing Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James to a lifetime contract.  ESPN reports it's the largest single athlete guarantee in the sports apparel giant's 44-year history, although no financial terms have been released.  The four-time NBA MVP originally signed a seven-year, 93-million-dollar contract with Nike out of high school in 2003.  He then re-signed with the company in 2010. 

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland State head coach Bruce Barnum is going from interim to the FCS Coach of the Year.  Barnum earned the honor after taking the Vikings from 3-and-9 to 9-and-3 this season, and the second round of the FCS Playoffs.  PSU fell to Northern Iowa on Saturday.  

(Pearl City, HI)  --  Dillon Brooks netted 19 points as 23rd-ranked Oregon cruised past Navy, 67-47, in the Pearl Harbor Invitational in Hawaii.  Dwayne Benjamin added 16 points for the Ducks, who improved to 7-and-1.  Chris Boucher had 14 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.  The Ducks visit Boise State on Saturday.

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  The Bucks finished the game on a 12-6 run to beat the Trail Blazers 90-88 at the Bradley Center.  Damian Lillard was led Portland with 23 points and 7 assists, while C.J. McCollum scored 17.  The Blazers had won their previous two.  They remain on the road to face LeBron James and the Cavaliers tonight.

(Undated)  --  In college basketball action this weekend, Oregon fell to UNLV 80-69 Friday and gets Navy tonight at home, while Oregon State beat Nevada 66-62 at Gill Coliseum.  Portland State fell to Washington State 91-67 on the road. 

(Portland, OR ) --  Portland State's season came to an end Saturday when the team lost to Northern Iowa, 29-17, in the second round of the FCS Playoffs. David Jones ran for a score and Chase Loftin caught a touchdown, but the Vikings couldn't overcome three costly turnovers.  Portland State finished the season with nine wins, which were the most in program history. 

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  The Trail Blazers are back in action tonight when they battle the Bucks tonight at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.  Portland is coming off a 109-103 win over the Timberwolves on Saturday in which six different players scored in double figures.  The Blazers have won two straight since losing three of four and sit at 9-and-12 overall. 

(San Antonio, TX)  --  The Oregon Ducks have earned a date with TCU in this year's Valero Alamo Bowl.  The Ducks finished the regular season 9-and-3 and have won six straight games.  TCU sits at 10-and-2 but finished the year 2-and-2 in its last four games.  The game will be held on January 2 at the Alamodome.
