(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Magic upset the Clippers 103-96 at the Staples Center. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 28 points. The Clippers are 32-and-17 and will host the Nuggets tomorrow.

Blazers Visit Pistons Tonight

(Detroit, MI) -- The Trail Blazers will be in Detroit tonight to take on the Pistons. Portland has won three in a row to get to 28-and-18. The Pistons are 13-and-33.

Gonzaga Drops USC To Get To Final Four

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Drew Timme scored 23 points as top-seeded Gonzaga dropped sixth-seeded USC 85-66 in the Elite Eight in Indianapolis. Corey Kispert and Jalen Suggs added 18 apiece in the win. The Bulldogs advance to the Final Four, where they'll face 11th-seeded UCLA on Saturday.

Mariners Open Season Tomorrow Against Giants

(Seattle, WA) -- The Mariners open the regular season tomorrow night at home against the Giants. They'll play San Francisco again Friday and Saturday before hosting the White Sox early next week. Seattle's first road trip will be a week from tomorrow at Minnesota.

Lakers Host Bucks Tonight

(Los Angeles, CA) -- The Lakers are at home tonight. LA will host the Milwaukee Bucks. The Lakers are 30-and-17. Andre Drummond is expected to make his debut at center for Los Angeles tonight.

NFL Owners Approve 17-Game Schedule

(Undated) -- The NFL is adding a 17th regular-season game this year. League owner approved the measure yesterday. Players agreed to the additional game as part of the 2020 collective bargaining agreement. The preseason will now be three games and the Super Bowl will be pushed back a week.

Clippers Crush Bucks

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Marcus Morris Sr. scored 25 points as the Clippers crushed the Bucks 129-105 at home. Kawhi [[ ka-WHY ]] Leonard added 23 for LA. Luke Kennard posted 21 points for the Clippers, who have won six straight. The Clippers are 32-and-16 and will host the Magic tonight.

OSU Falls Short Against Houston

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Oregon State fell behind by 17 by the end of the first half as they fell short against second-seeded Houston 67-61 in the Elite Eight in Indianapolis. Maurice Calloo led the 12th-seeded Beavers with 13 points. OSU finishes at 20-and-13.

M's Close Out Spring With Tie

(Goodyear, AZ) -- The Mariners closed out Spring Training with a 5-5 tie against the Reds in Goodyear. They finish the exhibition slate 11-and-11. Seattle begins the regular season with a three-game series at home against San Francisco starting Thursday.

Joey Logano Wins NASCAR Food City Dirt Race

(Bristol, TN) -- Joey Logano is going home a little dirty and a winner. Logano held off the field to win the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished behind Logano for second. Denny Hamlin finished in third. Daniel Suarez and Ryan Newman rounded out the top five.

Oregon Knocked Out By USC

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Eugene Omoruyi logged a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds but seventh-seeded Oregon was knocked out by sixth-seeded USC 82-68 in the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis. Chris Duarte scored 21 points in the loss. The Ducks end their season at 21-and-7.

Lakers Take Down Magic

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Dennis Schroder scored 24 points as the Lakers took down the Magic 96-93 at home. Kyle Kuzma added 21 for Los Angeles. The Lakers are 30-and-17 and will host the Bucks on Wednesday.

Blazers Hold Off Raptors

(Tampa, FL) -- CJ McCollum scored seven points in the final two minutes as the Trail Blazers held off the Raptors 122-117 in Tampa. McCollum led with 23 points while Damian Lillard had 22 points and 11 assists. Portland has won three straight to get to 28-and-18. The Blazers will visit the Pistons on Wednesday.

OSU Moving On To Elite Eight

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Oregon State is in the Elite Eight for the first time since 1982. The 12th-seeded Beavers upset eighth-seeded Loyola 65-58 on Saturday to advance. They'll face second-seeded Houston tonight.

Mariners Visit Reds Today

(Goodyear, AZ) -- The Mariners will close out Spring Training when they visit the Reds this afternoon in Goodyear. Seattle is 11-and-11 on the spring. The Mariners begin the regular season on Thursday at home against San Francisco.

Following the completion of the current round of stress tests, the Federal Reserve Board will end its temporary restrictions on most banks paying dividends and buying back shares after June 30. Firms with capital levels above those required by the stress test will no longer have to face the curbs, while banks with capital levels below those required will remain subject to the limitations.  The central bank had prohibited the largest U.S. banks from buying back stock in order to conserve capital as the pandemic tore through the U.S. economy. The full restrictions were set to expire on March 31 after being enacted in June of 2020.

 

The ship that has completely blocked the Suez Canal may not now be moved until at least next Wednesday, according to people familiar with the matter. The longer-than-expected closure of one of the world's most important maritime routes will disrupt global supply chains for everything from grain to cars to coffee. The number of ships loaded with billions of dollars worth of goods waiting to traverse the canal has risen to more than 300, according to Bloomberg data.

 

The global shortage of semiconductors remains in focus after China's Nio Inc. announced it would temporarily halt production at one of its factories due to the chip shortage. The global auto industry was already struggling for supply before last week's fire at a Japanese manufacturer of automotive chips exacerbated the problems. Ford Motor Co., Toyota Motor Corp., Volkswagen AG and Honda Motor Co. all have had production problems due to the shortage.

Oregon Faces Louisville Sunday

(San Antonio, TX)  --  Sixth-seeded Oregon women's basketball will face second-seeded Louisville in the Sweet 16 on Sunday in San Antonio.  The winner will move on to play either top-seeded Stanford or number-five Missouri State.

Oregon, OSU Look To Advance To Elite Eight

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  In the Sweet 16 tomorrow, 12th-seeded Oregon State will face off with eighth-seeded Loyola Chicago.  The Beavers are looking to get to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1982.  On Sunday, seventh-seeded Oregon takes on sixth-seeded USC.

Blazers Acquire Powell

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers are acquiring shooting guard Norman Powell from the Raptors. They're sending over Gary Trent Junior and Rodney Hood in exchange. Powell is averaging 19.6 points and shooting 49-percent from the field.

Lillard, Blazers Clip Heat

(Miami, FL)  --  Damian Lillard made three free throws in the final second to lift the Trail Blazers over the Heat 125-122 in Miami.  CJ McCollum led with 35 points while Lillard finished with 22.  Portland jumps to 26-and-18 and plays the Magic tonight in Orlando.

Mariners Fall To A's

(Mesa, AZ) -- Brady Lail gave up the tie breaking run in the fifth inning to take the loss as the Mariners fell to the A's 8-5 in Mesa. Jack Reinheimer and Cal Raleigh drove in two runs apiece on doubles in defeat. Seattle visits San Diego tonight.

Oregon, OSU In Sweet 16 This Weekend

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  Oregon and Oregon State will both be in the Sweet 16 this weekend in Indianapolis.  On Saturday, the 12th-seeded Beavers will face eighth-seeded Loyola.  Sunday, seven-seed Oregon will take on Pac-12 opponent USC.

Mariners Dropped By Cubs

(Peoria, AZ)  --  Justin Dunn gave up four runs over three-and-a-third as the Mariners were dropped by the Cubs 6-2 in Peoria.  Taylor Trammell went yard in the setback.  Seattle had its three-game winning streak snapped.  The Mariners visit the A's this afternoon.

Blazers Visit Heat Tonight

(Miami, FL)  --  The Trail Blazers are will be in Miami tonight to take on the Heat.  Portland will look to end the two-game skid that dropped it to 25-and-18.  The Blazers will remain in Florida Friday to face the Magic.

Oregon Knocks Out Georgia

(San Antonio, TX)  --  Sedona Prince put up 22 points to help sixth-seeded Oregon knock out third-seeded Georgia 57-50 in the second round of the Alamo Region in San Antonio.  Nyara Sabally added 15 points and nine rebounds in the win.  The Ducks move on to play number-two Louisville in the Sweet 16.

Seahawks Make Several Roster Moves

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks are bolstering their roster with several additions.  Seattle is re-signing defensive end Benson Mayowa and adding free agent Kerry Hyder from the 49ers.  The 'Hawks also re-signed guard Jordan Simmons and tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.

Report: Sherman, Seahawks Open To Reunion

(Seattle, WA)  --  Cornerback Richard Sherman and the Seahawks are open to a potential reunion.  Tom Pelissero reported the news on NFL Network.  Sherman left Seattle after the 2017 season to join San Francisco.  He's currently rated the 19th best free agent on the market by Pro Football Focus. 

OSU Eliminated By South Carolina

(San Antonio, TX)  --  Taylor Jones scored 13 points, but number-eight Oregon State fell to top-seeded South Carolina 59-42 in the second round of the Hemisfair Region in San Antonio.  The Beavers end their season at 12-and-8.  Today, in the second round, number-six Oregon faces third-seeded Georgia. 

Blazers Clipped By Nets

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard scored 22 points, but it wasn't enough as the Trail Blazers were clipped by the Nets 116-112 in Portland.  Enes Kanter added 19 points, 19 rebounds, and six assists in defeat.  The Blazers have lost two in-a-row to dip to 25-and-18.  They'll visit Miami tomorrow.

OSU President Resigns Amid LSU Scandal

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon State president F. King Alexander has resigned due to his role in the sexual misconduct allegations at Louisiana State.  Alexander was the president at LSU from 2013-2019.  An independent investigation detailed the school's failure to report sexual misconduct within the athletic department.  It also revealed that Alexander knew of allegations against former Tigers head football coach Les Miles.

(San Antonio, TX)  --  Seventh-seeded Oregon and 12th-seeded Oregon State will be in the Sweet 16 this weekend.  On Saturday, the Beavers will face number-eight Loyola.  This will be OSU's first Sweet 16 appearance since 1982.  Sunday, the Ducks take on sixth-seeded USC.

Seahawks Resign Pocic

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks are officially re-signing center Ethan Pocic.  His deal is reportedly for one year worth up to three-million-dollars.  Seattle now has a returning starter at four of its five offensive line positions with Duane Brown, Brandon Shell and Damien Lewis.

Mariners Shut Out D'backs

(Scottsdale, AZ)  --  Chris Flexen tossed five scoreless innings to help the Mariners shut out the Diamondbacks 3-0 in Scottsdale.  Dylan Moore had an RBI double for Seattle, which has won three in a row.  The M's host the Cubs tonight.

Blazers Host Nets Tonight

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers will be home tonight to host the Nets. Portland had its three-game winning streak snapped by Dallas on Sunday to dip to 25-and-17. The Blazers are sixth in the West, six games behind the conference-leading Jazz.

Oregon Knocks Out South Dakota

(San Antonio, TX) -- In the women's NCAA Tournament, Erin Boley scored 22 points as six-seed Oregon knocked out South Dakota 67-47 in the first round in San Antonio. The Ducks move on to play third-seeded Georgia tomorrow. This afternoon, eighth-seeded Oregon State faces number-one South Carolina in the second round.

Oregon Stuns Iowa

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Chris Duarte put up 23 points and seven assists to help seventh-seeded Oregon stun second-seeded Iowa 95-80 in the second round of the West Region in Indianapolis. LJ Figueroa added 21 points in the win. The Ducks advance to face sixth-seeded USC in the Sweet 16 on Sunday.

Mariners Roll Past Dodgers

(Peoria, AZ) -- Evan White, Jose Marmolejos, and Mitch Haniger all homered as the Mariners rolled past the Dodgers 7-3 in Peoria. Kyle Seager logged two RBI on a double for Seattle, which is 9-and-8 on the spring. The Mariners visit the Diamondbacks tonight.

Jazz Crush Bulls

(Chicago, IL) -- Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points as the Jazz crushed the Bulls 120-95 in Chicago. Rudy Gobert added 21 points and 10 rebounds for Utah. Joe Ingles provided 17 points off the bench as the Jazz won their second straight. Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 27 points. Chicago has lost three of four.

NFL Draft To Have Fans In Cleveland

(New York, NY) -- The 2021 NFL Draft will be held April 29th to May 1st in Cleveland with a limited number of fans in attendance. A select amount of media and prospects will also be there, with other prospects taking part remotely from their homes. Vaccinations and masks will be required for attendees.

Blazers Host Pelicans Tonight

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers will defend home court tonight when they host the Pelicans at the Moda Center. Portland has alternated wins and losses over its last five games to land at 23-and-16. The Blazers are third in the Northwest behind Utah and Denver.

PGA Honda Classic Tees Off Today

(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) -- Lee Westwood, Rickie Fowler, and Phil Mickelson head the field for the Honda Classic, which tees off today at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Westwood finished runner-up in the last two PGA stops. Three golfers have withdrawn after positive COVID-19 tests.

(Peoria, AZ) -- Chris Flexen gave up six runs over three innings as the Mariners fell to the Angels 7-4 in Peoria. Evan White launched a grand slam in the sixth inning in the setback. Seattle visits San Francisco tonight.

Seahawks Acquire RG Jackson

(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks are acquiring right guard Gabe Jackson from the Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round 2021 draft pick. Seattle will take cap hits of 9.6- and 9.5-million-dollars over the next two years for Jackson. He played every snap for Oakland last season, where he didn't give up a sack and gave up just two quarterback hits.

(Indianapolis, IN)  --  Number-12 Oregon State faces fifth-seeded Tennessee on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis.  On Saturday, seventh-seeded Oregon will take on number-10 VCU.  The Ducks made it to the Sweet Sixteen in 2019 while the Beavers haven't been to the second round since 1982.

Lillard, Blazers Clip Pelicans

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard made the go-ahead free throw with one second left as the Trail Blazers clipped the Pelicans 125-124 in Portland.  Lillard went off for 50 points and 10 assists in the win.  Gary Trent Junior added 22 points for the Blazers, who improve to 23-and-16.  They'll rematch with the Pelicans tomorrow.

Mariners Crush Royals

(Surprise, AZ)  --  Ty France, Tom Murphy, and Julio Rodriguez all homered as the Mariners crushed the Royals 13-0 in Surprise.  Justus Sheffield pitched four scoreless innings, striking out six, to get the win.  The Mariners will host the Angels tonight.

NCAA Women's Tournament Begins Sunday

(Undated)  --  The first round of the women's NCAA Tournament begins Sunday in the San Antonio area.  Number-eight Oregon State will face ninth-seeded Florida State and number-nine Washington State will play eighth-seeded South Florida on Sunday.  On Monday, number-six Oregon will take on number-11 South Dakota. 

Griffin Twins Leaving Seahawks

(Seattle, WA)  --  It's the end of the heartwarming Griffin twins era in Seattle.  Both Shaquill and Shaquem Griffin are heading to Jacksonville, just three hours from where they grew up, as free agents.  The brothers played together in Seattle for three years, after Shaquem was drafted in 2018, fulfilling his dream of playing in the NFL despite losing his left hand at the age of four.

(Indianapolis, IN) -- Oregon and Oregon State are both headed to the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks landed a number-seven seed while the Beavers are a 12 seed. The First Four tips off on Thursday. Oregon's first game is Saturday against number-10 VCU, while OSU plays Friday against fifth-seeded Tennessee.

(Undated) -- Gonzaga will be the top overall seed for the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Bulldogs are unbeaten this season at 26-and-0. Baylor, Illinois, and Michigan have been assigned the other number-one seeds by the selection committee.

Thomas Wins The PLAYERS Championship By One

(Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) -- Justin Thomas is the winner of The PLAYERS Championship. He carded a four-under 68 on Sunday to finish at 14-under par at TPC Sawgrass. Lee Westwood finished one stroke back in second. Brian Harman and Bryson DeChambeau tied for third at 12-under.

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Isaac Bonton put up 19 points, but ninth-seeded Washington State fell to Arizona State in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament to be eliminated. Noah Williams added 11 points in the loss. The Cougars finish 14-and-13.

Blazers' Simons Wins NBA Slam Dunk Contest

(Atlanta, GA) -- Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons is this year's NBA Slam Dunk champion. He defeated Indiana Pacers guard Cassius Stanley and New York Knicks forward Obi Toppin during halftime of Sunday's All-Star Game in Atlanta. Simons beat Toppin 3-2 in the final.

Team LeBron Tops Team Durant In NBA All-Star Game

(Atlanta, GA) -- Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 35 points to lead Team LeBron to a 170-150 win over Team Durant in the NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta. He shot 16-of-16 from the field to take home MVP honors. Damian Lillard dropped 32 points in the win.

Larson Wins Pennzoil 400 In Las Vegas

Itidarod Continues In Alaska

(Anchorage, AK) -- The 2021 Itidarod began on Sunday in Alaska. The 860-mile course begins outside of Anchorage and will have several changes this year due to COVID-19, including less frequent stops. The ceremonial start in Anchorage was also canceled.

Pac-12 Tournament Begins Wednesday

(Las Vegas, NV) -- The Pac-12 Tournament begins Wednesday in Las Vegas. On Wednesday, ninth-seeded Washington State will face number-eight Arizona State and number-10 Washington will play seventh-seeded Utah. Number-five Oregon State will take on number-four UCLA on Thursday. Oregon has a bye as the number-one seed and will await its opponent on Thursday.

DeChambeau Wins Arnold Palmer Invitational

(Orlando, FL) -- Bryson DeChambeau shot a final-round, one-under 71 to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando. He finished the four-day event at 11-under par, one stroke ahead of Lee Westwood. Corey Conners was third at eight-under. Three others finished at minus-six.

Blazers Push Past Kings

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard made the go-ahead layup with 2:38 to go as the Trail Blazers pushed past the Kings 123-119 in Portland.  Lillard finished with a game-high 44 points while Enes Kanter dropped 22 points and 21 rebounds.  The Blazers improve to 21-and-14 and will be off for the All-Star break.

Mariners Play To Second Straight Draw

(Peoria, AZ)  --  Mitch Haniger, Kyle Seager and Ty France homered in a five-run third inning as the Mariners played to a 9-9 draw against the Rockies in Peoria.  Jose Godoy added a RBI double for Seattle.  The M's will visit the White Sox today.

Portland State Loses To Southern Utah

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland State lost 68-58 at home to Southern Utah.  James Scott had 20 points and eight boards in defeat.  The Vikings are 9-and-11 and will meet the Thunderbirds tomorrow.

Oregon, OSU Face Off Sunday

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Oregon and Oregon State will face off in the season finale Sunday night in Corvallis.  The Ducks will look to end the season with five straight wins.  They're first in the Pac-12 at 13-and-4 and 18-and-5 overall.  The Beavers have won three in a row to get to 14-and-11. Conners, McIlroy Share Lead At Arnold Palmer Invitational

(Orlando, FL)  --  Corey Conners and Rory McIlroy share the lead after the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.  Both shot a six-under 66 Thursday at Bay Hill in Orlando, Florida.  Bryson DeChambeau is alone in third at five-under par.  Defending champ Tyrrell Hatton shot a five-over 77.

Blazers Host Warriors Tonight

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers will defend home court tonight when they host the Warriors at Moda Center. Portland ended its four-game skid with a win over the Hornets on Monday to get to 19-and-14. The Blazers will host the Kings tomorrow before time off for the All-Star break.

Mariners Crushed By Indians

(Peoria, AZ) -- Yusei Kikuchi had an effective outing for the Mariners, pitching two innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts, but they were ultimately crushed 6-1 by the Indians in Peoria. Taylor Trammell drove in Seattle's run with a double in the seventh. The M's will visit the Cubs today.

(Salt Lake City, UT) -- Oregon State will be in Salt Lake City tonight to take on Utah in a makeup game from February 22nd. The Beavers rolled past the Utes 74-56 earlier this season and are coming off two wins in a row. They sit at 13-and-11.

Triple-A Season To Be Delayed

(Undated) -- The start of the Triple-A Baseball season is being delayed. Major League Baseball will start its season with alternate site taxi squads, as it did last season, for at least the first month. ESPN reports that will lead to the start of the Triple-A season being pushed back from April to May.

OR Reports Four New COVID-19 Deaths

(Portland, OR) -- Oregon is reporting four new coronavirus deaths. The Oregon Health Authority confirmed the new deaths yesterday, raising the state's death toll from the pandemic to two-thousand-212. Officials also reported 197 new cases of COVID-19. A total of 132 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, which is two fewer than on Sunday.

Man Sentenced To 13 Years For Sexually Abusing 15-Year-Old Girl

(Eugene, OR) -- A former elementary school teacher is facing more than a decade in federal prison for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. A judge sentenced 38-year-old William Hamann yesterday to 13 years in prison followed by ten years supervised release. Police arrested Hamann in 2019 for the abuse that began in 2018. He pleaded guilty last month.

Most Californians Moving To Nearby Counties Or Other Parts Of State

(San Francisco, CA) -- The mass exodus of residents leaving California is largely hype. The San Francisco Chronicle analyzed data from the U.S. Postal Service and found most Bay Area moves are to nearby counties or other parts of the state. Washington state topped the out-migration numbers with roughly 12-hundred Californians leaving for the Seattle area. Almost 750 decamped to Texas, over 620 to Oregon, and close to 530 to Nevada. The option to work remotely is leading many to look for affordable housing options elsewhere while hanging on to their Bay Area wages.

OR Getting 34K Doses Of J&J COVID Vaccine

(Portland, OR) -- The new COVID-19 vaccine from Johnson & Johnson is on its way to Oregon. The Oregon Health Authority says 34-thousand doses are being shipped to the state this week. The J&J vaccine is easier to store because it doesn't require ultra-cold freezers like the Pfizer vaccine. OHA is working with local public health authorities, state retail pharmacy partners and hospital systems to administer the vaccine.

Telecommunications Industry Tops 2020 Complaints To AG's Office

(Salem, OR)  --  The telecommunications industry tops the 2020 list of complaints to the Oregon Attorney General's Office.  Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum released the Top Ten Consumer Complaints list for 2020 yesterday.  The AG's office received more than one-thousand complaints related to telecommunications last year.  Auto Sales and Repairs came in second with 602 complaints, followed by Impostor Scams with 534 complains.  For the first time ever, Grocery, Food and Beverage made the top ten due to price-gouging sparked by the ongoing pandemic.

Oregon Cruises Past Arizona

(Eugene, OR)  --  Chris Duarte had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Oregon past Arizona 80-69 at home.  Eugene Omoruyi added 21 points and LJ Figueroa had 14 in the win.  The Ducks have won three in a row to jump to 17-and-5 and host UCLA tomorrow night.
