(Costa Mesa, CA)  --  The Los Angeles Chargers are canceling practice as a precaution after a player tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.  The team did not disclose which player, but ESPN reported earlier in the day it was offensive lineman Ryan Groy.  Head coach Anthony Lynn said they have begun contact tracing and feel good about it not spreading further.  The Chargers sit at 2-and-4 on the season and are scheduled to visit the Denver Broncos this Sunday.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks will host the 49ers on Sunday in an NFC West battle at CenturyLink Field.  The teams split their two games last season.  Seattle has the top offense in terms of yards, but the worst defense in yards allowed.  The 49ers' defense is fifth in the league.  The Seahawks are 5-and-1, while the defending NFC champion Niners are 4-and-3.

(Undated)  --  In MLS action Sunday, the Sounders will visit the Colorado Rapids while the Timbers will host the Vancouver Whitecaps.  Both teams are coming off wins this week with Seattle climbing back into first in the West with 35 points.  Portland is third, also with 35 points.  Both teams have clinched MLS playoff berths.  The regular season ends next weekend.

(Martinsville, VA)  --  The NASCAR Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway is Sunday.  The 500-lap race is the last chance for drivers to secure a spot in the Championship Four on November 8th.  Joey Logano is the only driver to ink a spot.  Kevin Harvick is in second place, Denny Hamlin is third and Brad Keselowski fourth.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Mariners are bringing back right-hander Kendall Graveman.  They signed him to a 1.25-million-dollar contract with 2.5-million worth of incentives for 2021.  Seattle declined Graveman's 3.5-million-dollar option on Wednesday, making him a free agent briefly.  Graveman spent most of this season on injured reserve due to a neck injury, but returned in September.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks will welcome the 49ers to CenturyLink Field in an NFC West battle on Sunday.  Seattle is coming off an overtime loss to the Cardinals to drop to 5-and-1.  The Seahawks lead the division while San Francisco sits at the bottom at 4-and-3.  The last time the two met was Week 17 last season when the 49ers stopped the Seahawks at the goal line in the last minute to secure the win.

(Portland, OR)  --  Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored twice as the Timbers rolled past the LA Galaxy 5-2 at Providence Park.  Diego Valeri, Eryk Williamson and Andy Polo also found the back of the net for Portland.  The Timbers have 35 points and remain third in the MLS West.

(Fort Worth, TX)  --  Kyle Busch extended his streak of at least one Cup Series win to 16 seasons with his win in the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.  The round of eight was postponed three times due to rain.  Busch was eliminated from the playoffs in the round of 12, but stumped Martin Truex Junior, who is still vying for a spot.  Truex finished second.  So far, Joey Logano is the only one to ink his spot in the Championship Four.

(Thousand Oaks, CA)  --  The Rams head to South Beach on Sunday to visit the Miami Dolphins.  L.A. is off to a 5-and-2 start to the season, while Dolphins are 3-and-3.  The Chargers hit the road to clash with the Denver Broncos.  Both squads are 2-and-4.

(Undated) -- Major League Baseball is launching a full investigation into Dodgers player Justin Turner after he allegedly failed to follow COVID-19 protocol.  MLB is taking action after Turner was removed during the 7th inning of Game 6 of the World Series and tested positive for coronavirus.  MLB officials say Turner refused to comply with protocols and was seen interacting with players without wearing a mask. 

(Arlington, TX)  --  Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager is the Most Valuable Player of the 2020 World Series.  He was named MVP after hitting .400 with two homers and five RBI in LA's six-game win over the Rays.  Seager was also MVP of the Dodgers' League Championship Series win over the Braves.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers are World Series champions for the first time in 32 years.  Mookie Betts scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and later homered as the Dodgers beat the Rays 3-1 in Game Six of the Fall Classic in Arlington, Texas.  Seven LA pitchers combined to allow just five hits and one run.  Victor Gonzalez got the win in relief and Julio Urias recorded the final seven outs for the save. 

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks take on the 49ers in a NFC West battle at CenturyLink Field on Sunday.  Seattle sits atop the division at 5-and-1, even after its first loss of the season to divisional rival Arizona.  The Seahawks are first in the league in yards per game and points per game behind Russell Wilson's 22 touchdowns.  San Francisco is 4-and-3.

(Fort Worth, TX)  --  The NASCAR Cup Series round of eight at Texas Motor Speedway was pushed back for the third straight day by rain.  The Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 will now be today, though the forecast is similar.  The race is scheduled for the afternoon, when the rain is supposed to let up.  Only 52 of the 334 laps were completed on Sunday.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers welcome the LA Galaxy to Providence Park tonight.  They've played to a draw in their last two matches to sit in third in the West with 32 points.  Portland will remain home on Sunday to host Vancouver.

(Inglewood, CA)  --  Jalen Ramsey and Taylor Rapp recorded interceptions as the Rams mauled the Bears 24-10 on Monday Night Football in Inglewood.  Leonard Floyd had two sacks for Los Angeles against his former team.  Jared Goff threw for two touchdowns while Malcolm Brown added a score on the ground as the Rams moved to 5-and-2.  They'll visit Miami on Sunday. 

(Inglewood, CA)  --  The L.A Rams clash with the Chicago Bears tonight on Monday Night Football in Inglewood.  The Rams enter at 4-and-2 and have yet to lose in the brand-new SoFi Stadium.  The Bears are 5-and-1 overall and 5-and-0 against NFC opponents.

(Foxborough, MA)  --  Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns as the 49ers pummeled the Patriots 33-6 at New England.  Former Patriot Jimmy Garoppolo threw two picks in his return to Foxborough, but was 20-of-25 for 277 yards for San Francisco.  The 49ers have won two in-a-row to move above .500 at 4-and-3.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead as they beat the Rays 4-2 in Game Five of the Fall Classic in Arlington, Texas.  Two RBI singles in the first inning made it 2-0 before Joc Pederson added a solo homer in the second.  Clayton Kershaw pitched into the sixth, giving up two runs to get the win for LA.  Max Muncy went deep in the fifth for the Dodgers, who are just a win away from their first World Series championship since 1988. Game Six is tomorrow.

(Glendale, AZ)  --  Russell Wilson threw his third interception in overtime and the Cardinals kicked the game-winning field goal, beating the Seahawks 37-34 in Glendale.  DK Metcalf would have had the game-winning touchdown, but there was holding on the play.  Wilson finished 33 of 50 with 388 yards in the air, 84 yards on the ground and three touchdowns to Tyler Lockett.  This was the Seahawks' first loss to drop to 5-and-1.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers will welcome the LA Galaxy to Providence Park on Wednesday night.  Portland also last played against Seattle and sits in third in the West with 32 points.  Vancouver will remain in Portland to take on the Timbers on Sunday.

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  The NFL is moving this weekend's Raiders-Buccaneers game out of the Sunday Night Football time slot.  It's now set for the afternoon, with the Seahawks-Cardinals game now Sunday night.  The move comes after the Raiders put five players on the COVID-19/reserve list.

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  Carson Wentz hit Boston Scott with an 18-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds left to lift the Eagles to a 22-21 win over the Giants in Philadelphia.  Wentz threw for two scores and also ran for a TD as the Eagles improved to 2-4-and-1.  The Giants slipped to 1-and-6.

(Undated)  --  The college football schedule gets more crowded with the Big Ten starting this weekend.  Number-14 Wisconsin hosts Illinois tonight.  The league will play an eight-game all-conference schedule.  The Mountain West also starts this weekend.  The Pac-12 starts November 7th. 

(Fort Worth, TX)  --  The NASCAR Cup Series round of eight continues Sunday in the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.  Joey Logano earned a place Championship Four, which will take place November 8th in Phoenix.  This weekend will be the penultimate race in the Cup Series playoffs.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Sounders and Timbers played to a 1-1 draw at CenturyLink Field.  Andres Flores scored for Portland early in the game while Will Bruin scored in the third minute of stoppage time to avoid the shutout for Seattle.  The Sounders took 15 shots with just one on target compared to the Timbers' eight with four on target.  Both teams have 32 points, but Seattle is first in the West with the better record.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers and Rays resume the World Series tonight.  They play Game Three at Globe Life Field in Arlington.  The best-of-seven set is tied at a game apiece after Tampa Bay won Game Two 6-4 on Wednesday.  Walker Buehler starts for LA and Charlie Morton for Tampa.

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  An NFC East showdown takes place on Thursday Night Football tonight as the Eagles host the Giants.  Both teams are off to slow starts but still in the picture for first place in the division.  The Eagles are 1-4-and-1 while the Giants are 1-and-5.  Dallas leads at 2-and-4.

(New Orleans, LA)  --  The Pelicans are bringing in a familiar name to fill their coaching vacancy.  ESPN reports Stan Van Gundy has agreed to become the new man in New Orleans.  He would replace the fired Alvin Gentry.  Van Gundy has previously coached the Pistons, Magic and Heat. 

(Undated)  --  Free-agent wide receiver Antonio Brown is gaining interest as his suspension comes to a close.  ESPN reports the Seahawks are one of several teams who will pursue Brown, whose suspension ends after Week Eight.  Brown has 75 touchdown catches in 10 NFL seasons.

(Arlington, TX)  --  Steve Cohen is closer to becoming the new owner of the Mets.  The Post reports his estimated 2.4-billion-dollar bid to buy the team has been approved by MLB's Ownership Committee.  Cohen now needs approval from 23 owners, with a vote likely after the World Series.

(Arlington, TX)  --  Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger homered as the Dodgers pounded the Rays 8-3 in Game One of the World Series in Arlington.  Clayton Kershaw gave up just one run over six innings and struck out eight for Los Angeles.  Tyler Glasnow gave up six runs over four and a third innings for the Rays.  The Dodgers take a 1-0 series lead.  Game Two is Wednesday.

(New York, NY)  --  The NFL is confirming eight players tested positive for COVID-19 during their most recent round of testing last week.  The league announced that 11 staff members also tested positive for the virus during the week of October 11th through 17th.  Nearly 78-hundred people were tested in all.  The NFL is now up to 47 players and 71 staffers who have tested positive since they began testing on August 1st.

(New Orleans, LA)  --  Another NFL team is welcoming fans to a game during the coronavirus pandemic.  The New Orleans Saints announced it will allow three-thousand tickets to be claimed by season ticket holders for Sunday's game.  The Superdome can hold over 74-thousand fans.  Then, six-thousand fans could be able to attend their November 15th home game if local health guidelines allow.  The Saints and Mayor LaToya Cantrell hope fans will wear masks and socially distance from others.  Other teams to allow fans include the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins.

(Arlington, TX)  --  Dodgers star Cody Bellinger is rethinking the way he celebrates with his teammates.  That's because he dislocated his shoulder after Los Angeles took the lead against the Atlanta Braves in Game 7 of the NLCS Sunday night.  Bellinger smashed a solo home run late in the game to put the Dodgers ahead.  But after rounding the bases, he did a powerful forearm bash with one of his teammates.  The slugger told MLB Network his "shoulder popped out" during the celebration, and it had to be popped back in to play defense.

Dodgers look to lock up their first World Series title since 1988 as they face the Tampa Bay Rays in Arlington, Texas tonight.  Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for L.A., while the Rays counter with Tyler Glasnow.  The Dodgers hope to turn the tide after losing the Fall Classic in 2017 and 2018.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Number-15 Oregon held its first fall scrimmage over the weekend ahead of its November 7th opener.  Head coach Mario Cristobal says the defense outshined the offense Saturday at Autzen Stadium.  Sophomore safety Jamal Hill logged an interception but Cristobal says both quarterbacks played well.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers will look to bring another championship to L.A. this month as they meet the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series.  Game One of the seven-game set is tomorrow in Arlington, Texas.  The Dodgers are chasing their first World Series title since 1988.  This is their third Fall Classic appearance in the past four seasons.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers are going to the World Series.  Cody Bellinger clubbed a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning as the Dodgers edged Braves 4-3 to win Game Seven of the National League Championship Series in Arlington.  Kike Hernandez tied it with a solo shot in the sixth and Will Smith laced a two-run single in the third.  Julio Urias pitched three shutout innings to get the win in relief as LA overcame a 3-1 series deficit. 

(Portland, OR)  --  The Timbers and LAFC played to a 1-1 draw at Providence Park.  Jeremy Ebobisse scored in the 47th minute and gave the Timbers a 1-0 lead until the end of the game in stoppage time when LA responded.  Portland took 16 shots with six on target.  The Timbers are second in the West with 31 points. 

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  Jimmy Garoppolo looked sharp as the 49ers beat the Rams 24-16 in Santa Clara.  "Jimmy G" passed for three touchdowns for the Niners, who never trailed.  George Kittle hauled in seven passes for 109 yards and a score, including a 44-yard touchdown catch on 4th-and-2 to make it 14-0 in the second quarter.  Jared Goff passed for two TDs and an interception for the Rams.  Seattle is first in the NFC West at 5-and-0, followed by the 4-and-2 Rams.  The Niners are 3-and-3, while the 3-and-2 Cardinals visit the Cowboys tonight. 

(Undated)  --  In MLS action on Sunday night, the Sounders will play at San Jose.  Seattle had its three-game streak snapped with Wednesday's loss to LAFC.  Also Sunday, the Timbers welcome LAFC to Providence Park.  Portland had its five-game streak ended by Real Salt Lake on Wednesday.  The Sounders are first in the West with 30 points while the Timbers are second, also with 30 points.

(Undated)  --  The Pac-12 announced that it will play a 20-game men's basketball schedule and a 22-game women's schedule.  The conference expanded the men's games from 18 to 20 and the women's from 18 to 22.  The Pac-12 says they are still working on schedule models and broadcast details.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Braves scored six runs in the sixth inning as they crushed the Dodgers 10-2 in Game Four of the NLCS in Arlington.  Marcell Ozuna homered twice for Atlanta.  Bryse Wilson gave up just one run over six innings to pick up the win for the Braves, who take a 3-1 series lead.  Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw fell apart in the sixth inning and was tagged for four runs.  Game Four is Friday.

(San Diego, CA)  --  Carlos Correa hit a walk-off home run as the Astros once again avoided elimination by topping the Rays 4-3 in Game Five of the ALCS in San Diego.  George Springer led off the game with a home run for Houston.  Ryan Pressly picked up the win in relief for the Astros, who trail 3-2 in the series.  Ji-Man Choi homered for the Rays.  Randy Arozarena and Brandon Lowe also went yard for Tampa Bay in defeat.  Nick Anderson took the loss in the ninth for the Rays.  Game Six is Friday.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The LA Clippers are set to make Tyronn Lue their next head coach.  ESPN reports the two sides have agreed to a five-year deal.  Lue replaces Doc Rivers, who stepped down last month after seven years in LA.  Lue served an assistant for the Clippers under Rivers.  He was head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers before that, going 128-and-83 in three-plus seasons. 

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Dodgers scored a postseason record 11 runs in the first inning as they crushed the Braves 15-3 in Game Three of the NLCS in Arlington.  Max Muncy hit a grand slam to cap the uprising, and Joc Pederson and Edwin Rios homered earlier in the opening frame for Los Angeles.  Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager added solo shots in the second and third.  Julio Urias allowed one run over five innings to get the win for the Dodgers, who trail the best-of-seven series 2-1. 

(Sandy, UT)  --  The Timbers were doubled up by Real Salt Lake 2-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium.  Bill Tuiloma scored the lone goal in the 77th minute for Portland, which only had four shots on target.  The Timbers are second in the West with 30 points and host LAFC on Sunday.

(Seattle, WA)  --  The Seahawks are on their bye week after a 5-and-0 start.  They beat the Vikings in the last 15 seconds Sunday when Russell Wilson threw his 19th touchdown pass of the season.  Seattle will look to remain undefeated when they visit the Cardinals on October 25th.

(New York, NY)  --  The annual football game featuring the NFL's top players is not happening this season. The league revealed Wednesday that the Pro Bowl has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Players can still be voted on the Pro Bowl roster but instead of a game, they'll hold virtual activities. 

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Los Angeles Clippers are continuing their search for a new head coach.  Multiple reports state the Clippers are interviewing current assistant Sam Cassell.  He played 15 seasons in the NBA and won three championships.  Cassell has served as an assistant on Doc Rivers' staff for the past six seasons.  Rivers was fired after the Clippers made a disappointing playoff exit in round two.

(Houston, TX)  --  Clippers assistant coach Tyronn Lue is in Houston to interview for the Rockets' vacant head coaching job.  Multiple reports state Lue met with the team on Monday and is one of several candidates for the position.  Former coach and ESPN analyst Stan Van Gundy is also being considered.  The Rockets are looking for a replacement for the fired Mike D'Antoni.  Lue is reportedly also in the running for the Clippers' job.  He coached the Cavaliers to a championship in 2016.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Lakers are holding off on a public celebration for their championship victory due to COVID-19.  The team put out a statement saying it will plan something as soon as city and county officials deem it safe.  The Lakers clinched their 17th championship on Sunday.  Fans gathered in downtown Los Angeles and at Staples Center Sunday night following the team's win.  Some were unruly and ESPN reports more than 75 arrests were made.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The Braves scored four runs in the ninth inning as they downed the Dodgers 5-1 in Game One of the NLCS in Arlington.  Blake Treinen allowed three runs and got charged with the loss for L.A.  Kike Hernandez went deep to prevent the shutout.  Walker Buehler worked five innings of one-run ball.  Clayton Kershaw starts Game Two tonight.

(New Orleans, LA)  --  Will Lutz made the go-ahead field goal in overtime as the Saints surged past the Chargers 30-27 on Monday Night Football in New Orleans.  Chargers kicker Michael Badgley missed a field goal at the end of regulation that would have won the game for L.A.  Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 264 yards and four touchdowns in defeat for the Chargers, who blew a 17-point lead.  Badgley also missed an extra point in the loss.  Mike Williams hauled in five catches for 109 yards and two scores as L.A. fell to 1-and-4.

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  The San Francisco 49ers play host to the L.A. Rams on Sunday in an NFC West showdown.  The Rams are second in the division at 4-and-1, while the Niners are last at 2-and-3.  Seattle is first at 5-and-0. 

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Los Angeles Lakers are the 2020 NBA champions.  They defeated the Miami Heat 106-93 in Game Six of the NBA Finals in Orlando to win the 17th championship in franchise history.  LeBron James finished with a 28-point triple-double in the series-clinching victory.  Anthony Davis tallied 19 points and 15 rebounds as the Lakers bounced back from missing the playoffs last season to winning a title.  It comes almost nine months after the death of Lakers great Kobe Bryant. 

(Portland, OR)  --  Jaroslaw Niezgoda found the back of the net twice as the Timbers silenced the Earthquakes 3-0 at Providence Park.  Felipe Mora scored in the 86th minute for Portland, which had 16 shots with eight on target.  Portland is second in the West with 30 points and visits Real Salt Lake on Wednesday.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Russell Wilson found DK Metcalf in the final 15 seconds as the Seahawks clipped the Vikings 27-26 at CenturyLink Field.  That was Metcalf's second scoring reception.  Wilson finished 20 of 32 for 217 yards and three touchdowns but was sacked four times.  Seattle's defense sacked Kirk Cousins three times and picked him once.  This is the Seahawks' first 5-and-0 start in franchise history.  They'll get a bye this week. 

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns as the Dolphins destroyed the 49ers 43-17 in Santa Clara.  The Miami defense forced three turnovers and recorded five sacks.  Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw two interceptions before being benched for C.J. Beathard.  Beathard threw a TD and lost a fumble as San Francisco fell to 2-and-3 overall and 0-and-3 at home.

(Portland, OR)  --  Oregon hopes to add to its Number Three-ranked recruiting class tonight when top defensive prospect Jeffrey Bassa announces his decision on where he'll go to school.  The six-foot-three, 200-pound prospect out of Salt Lake City has said his top three destinations are Oregon, Utah and Oklahoma State.  The Ducks already have four defensive back commitments in the 2021 class. 

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Los Angeles Lakers are now tied with the Boston Celtics for the most championships in NBA history.  The Lakers' win over Miami on Sunday locked up their 17th title, matching Boston for the most all-time.  The Celtics have won just one championship since 1987, while the Lakers have won six in the 2000's.

(Arlington, TX)  --  The National League Championship Series gets underway tonight.  The Braves and Dodgers play Game One of the best-of-seven series at MLB's neutral site in Arlington, Texas.  Max Fried gets the start for Atlanta, while Los Angeles hands the ball to Walker Buehler.  The Braves swept the Marlins in their NL Division Series, while the Dodgers did the same to the Padres.  Both teams have yet to lose in five games this postseason.

(Kansas City, MO)  --  Derek Carr threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns as the Raiders stunned the Chiefs 40-32 in Kansas City.  Josh Jacobs ran for 77 yards and two scores for Las Vegas, which moved to 3-and-2 on the season.  Henry Ruggs the Third, Nelson Agholor and Darren Waller all had TD catches in the victory.

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Lakers and Heat play pivotal Game Four of the NBA Finals tonight inside the league bubble in Orlando.  Miami got back in the series with Sunday's 115-104 win in Game Three behind Jimmy Butler's 40-point triple-double.  The Lakers lead the best-of-seven series, 2-1.

(Arlington, TX)  --  National League West rivals will clash in the NLDS as the Dodgers face the Padres at Globe Life Park in Arlington.  The winner of the five-game series is off to the NL Championship Series to face either Miami or Atlanta.  L.A. finished six games ahead of San Diego for the divison crown.  The Dodgers led the MLB in run differential, with the Friars coming in second.  Walker Buehler gets the start for L.A.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Carlos Correa homered twice and drove in four as the Astros outslugged the A's 10-5 in Game One of their American League Division Series in Los Angeles.  Khris Davis, Matt Olson and Sean Murphy all homered for the A's in defeat.  J.B. Wendelken took the loss.  Game Two of the best-of-five set is today.

(Orlando, FL)  --  Jimmy Butler put up a triple-double and led the Heat to a 115-104 win over the Lakers in Game Three of the NBA Finals in Orlando.  LeBron James scored 25 for the Lakers but also committed eight turnovers.  Anthony Davis got in early foul trouble and finished with just 15 points.  Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris each put up 19 off the bench for L.A.  Game Four is tomorrow in Orlando, while Game Five is set for Friday.

(Undated)  --  The 17th ranked Oregon Ducks will host Stanford in the opening games of the Pac-12 college football season.  The Pac-12 has released its seven-game schedule, which begins on November 7th.  Oregon State will host Washington State.  The Pac-12 Championship game will be on December 18th or 19th.

(Inglewood, CA)  --  Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey is likely facing a fine or more after fighting Giants' receiver Golden Tate shortly after Sunday's game ended.  The two locked eyes near the 50-yard line shortly after the game ended and began throwing punches.  Ramsey has two young daughters with Tate's younger sister.

(Inglewood, CA)  --  Darious Williams came up with a game-saving interception at the seven-yard line in the final minute as the Rams held off the winless Giants 17-9 at SoFi Stadium.  Jared Goff was 25-of-32 for 200 yards and a touchdown as Los Angeles improved to 3-and-1.  His 55-yard strike to Cooper Kupp with 6:56 left extended a 10-9 lead.  The Rams are at Washington in Week Five.

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  Josh Allen threw for two touchdowns and also ran for a score as the Bills beat the Raiders 30-23 in Las Vegas.  Derek Carr finished 32-of-44 for 311 yards and two TD's for Las Vegas, which dropped its second straight to fall to 2-and-2.  Carr surpassed Kenny Stabler with his franchise-record 151st touchdown pass.  The Raiders visit the Chiefs in Week Five.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The American League Division Series begins today as the A's host the Astros in Game One at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.  The winner of the best-of-five series will face either New York or Tampa Bay in the ALCS.  Chris Bassitt takes the mound for Oakland opposite of Lance McCullers Junior for Houston.

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  It didn't take Doc Rivers long to find new work.  ESPN reports he's agreed to a five-year deal to be the next head coach of the 76ers.  Rivers parted ways with the Clippers on Monday after seven seasons in Los Angeles.  He replaces the fired Brett Brown in Philadelphia.

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Lakers and Heat resume the NBA Finals tonight inside the league bubble in Orlando.  It's Game Two of the best-of-seven series, with the Lakers holding a one-game-to-none advantage.  LeBron James just missed a triple-double for LA in Wednesday's 116-98 Game One win.  Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo are doubtful to play for Miami.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers are gearing up for a home game this weekend.  The Timbers will host the Rapids tomorrow at Providence Park.  Portland has not lost since a September 13th matchup against LAFC.  The Timbers and the Seattle Sounders hold the top two spots in the West, each with 24 points. 

(Oakland, CA)  --  Chad Pinder singled in the go-ahead runs in the fifth inning as the Athletics pushed past the White Sox 6-4 in the deciding Game Three of their AL wild card series in Oakland.  Sean Murphy homered for Oakland, which will face the Astros in the AL Division Series.  Frankie Montas got the win with two innings of one-run relief.  Liam Hendriks notched the save.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Dodgers are on to the National League Division Series.  Clayton Kershaw struck out 11 over eight shutout innings as they beat the Brewers 3-0 in Game Two of the NL Wild Card.  Mookie Betts clubbed a two-run double in the fifth.  The Dodgers will face either San Diego or St. Louis in the NLDS next week in Arlington, Texas.

(Undated)  --  In NFL action on Sunday, the L.A. Rams defend home field as the New York Giants come to town.  Seattle leads the NFC West at 3-and-0, while every other team is 2-and-1.  The Chargers are 1-and-2 and will look to score an upset win on the road at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert will start again for the Bolts.

(Undated)  --  The 49ers will be on primetime in Week Four as they host the Eagles on Sunday Night Football.  San Francisco enters at 2-and-1 while Philly is 0-2-and-1.  The Raiders are at home in Vegas as they welcome the unbeaten Buffalo Bills.

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Heat saw two of their key players suffer injuries in Game One of their loss to the Lakers.  Heat center Bam Adebayo left with a shoulder injury.  The team announced x-rays came back negative.  Guard Goran Dragic suffered a foot injury and missed the second half of the game. According to multiple reports, Dragic suffered a plantar tear of his left foot but hasn't ruled out playing again in the series.  Jimmy Butler was hobbled by an ankle injury but was able to return.

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Lakers made a statement in Game One as they dominated the Heat 116-98 at the NBA Finals in Orlando.  The Lakers trailed 23-10 early in the first quarter before quickly closing the gap and going on a run.  LeBron James scored 25 points and fell an assist shy of a triple-double while Anthony Davis scored 34.  Game Two tips off on Friday.

(Undated)  --  The NFL is issuing a strong warning to teams whose coaches aren't wearing face masks on the sidelines during games.  ESPN reports the league sent a memo threatening suspensions and forfeiture of draft picks if teams fail to comply with the COVID-19 game-day protocols.

(Philadelphia, PA)  --  There will be a meeting between Doc Rivers and the Philadelphia 76ers.  According to multiple reports, the two sides are slated to meet in the Philadelphia area to discuss the 76ers' vacancy at the head coaching spot.  Rivers became available after he and the Clippers agreed to mutually part ways earlier this week.  Clippers' assistant Tyronn Lue is reportedly a candidate for a promotion in L.A. as well as the Sixers' job.

(Oakland, CA)  --  The Athletics and White Sox are going to a decisive Game Three in their AL Wild Card series.  Marcus Semien and Khris Davis hit early home runs as the A's held on for a 5-3 win over the White Sox in Game Two of the best-of-three set in Oakland.  Tommy La Stella and Ramon Laureano scored the other runs for the A's on a first inning error by Nick Madrigal.  Chris Bassitt fired seven innings of one-run ball to earn the win.  Game Three is this afternoon.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  An early lead help up for the Dodgers in a 4-2 win over the Brewers in Game One of the NL Wild Card in L.A.  The Dodgers walked in two runs in the first before Mookie Betts added an RBI double in the second.  Corey Seager homered in the seventh.  Walker Buehler and Julio Urias combined for seven frames of two-run ball and 13 strikeouts.  Kenley Jansen got the save.  Clayton Kershaw starts Game Two tonight.

(Thousand Oaks, CA)  --  The L.A. Rams will have a different look on Sunday against the Giants.  The team will debut yellow pants with their blue jerseys.  The style replaces the typical all-blue home look.  The Rams are 2-and-1 while the Giants are 0-and-3.  The 1-and-2 Chargers hit the road to face Tom Brady and the 2-and-1 Bucs on Sunday.

(Paris, France)  --  Serena Williams is withdrawing from the French Open due to an Achilles injury.  Williams made the decision before her second-round match in Paris on Wednesday.  The 39-year-old says she likely won't play again in 2020.

(Santa Clara, CA)  --  49ers tight end George Kittle is back at practice.  The Pro Bowler missed the past two games due to a sprained knee but was a full participant and is expected to play on Sunday against Philadelphia.  Receiver Deebo Samuel has also been cleared to practice after being out since June with a fractured foot.
