Lillard Expected To Play Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is expected to be in uniform tonight.  He missed the Thursday loss in Memphis to return to Portland for the birth of his son.  He has made a franchise-record 62 consecutive free throws.
 

Blazers Home Tonight Against Clippers

(Portland, OR) -- The Trail Blazers will host the LA Clippers tonight.  Tipoff is 7:30 at the Moda Center.  The Blazers have seven games remaining, including three at home, as they try to hang onto the third seed in the Western Conference.  Portland is 46-and-29. The Clippers are trying to sneak into the playoffs.  They have won four of their last five to inch within one game of the Jazz for eighth place in the standings.

Mariners Clip Indians On Opening Day

(Seattle, WA)  --  Nelson Cruz launched a two-run homer off Indians ace Corey Kluber [[ KLOO-ber ]] in the first inning and the Mariners held on for a 2-1 win on Opening Day at Safeco Field.  Felix Hernandez tossed five-and-a-third innings of two-hit, shutout ball for the win.  Edwin Diaz notched the save.  Mitch Haniger went 3-for-3 in the victory.

Timbers Will Play Fire Tomorrow

(Chicago, IL)  -- The Portland Timbers seek their first win tomorrow as they visit the Chicago Fire.  Portland is 0-2-and-1 on the season after a tie with Dallas this past Saturday.  Multiple outlets reported Timbers captain Liam Ridgewell did not make the trip to Chicago.  A Timbers spokesman declined to comment whether Ridgewell was with the team.

(Undated)  --  The number-one ranked Oregon State Beavers lost 8-7 to Utah last night in Salt Lake City in a Pac-12 game.  The Beavers fell to 20-and-3 and play today and tomorrow at Utah.  The Oregon Ducks opened a three-game Pac-10 series at Stanford with a 10-1 victory.  The two teams will play the next two days.  Portland is at Santa Clara for a three-game WCC series beginning today.

Blazers Fall Flat To Grizzlies

(Memphis, TN) -- C.J. McCollum scored 42 points, but it was not enough as the Trail Blazers fell to the Grizzlies 108-103 in Memphis.  Wade Baldwin the Fourth scored 15 points off the Portland bench, connecting on five-of-six shots.  The Trail Blazers return home tomorrow night against the LA Clippers.
 

Blazers Lose Sans Lillard

(Memphis, TN)  --  Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard was not with the team for the 108-103 loss in Memphis.  After scoring 41 points in the Trail Blazers' 107-103 victory over the Pelicans in New Orleans on Tuesday, Lillard returned to Portland for the birth of his son.

Number-one ranked Oregon State is 20-and-2 and travels to play Utah in a three-game series.  The 14-and-9 Ducks will open a three-game home series with Stanford.  Portland is at Santa Clara for a three-game WCC series beginning tomorrow.

Ichiro To Start In Left Field

(Seattle, WA)  --  Ichiro Suzuki will be in the lineup and start in left field for the Mariners tonight.  His status had been in question due to a sore calf which he battled during most of spring training.  Ichiro went 0-for-10 with five strikeouts and two walks in five spring games.  There was a chance the 44-year-old might open the season on the disabled list.

Mariners Open Season Against Indians Today

(Seattle, WA)  --  It's Opening Day in Major League Baseball.  The Mariners kick off the 2018 campaign tonight at home against the Indians.  Felix Hernandez starts the opener of the three-game series for Seattle, while Cleveland counters with reigning AL Cy Young winner Corey Kluber.  First pitch from Safeco Field is 7 o'clock.  This will be Hernandez's 10 straight Opening Day start.

Timbers Visit Chicago Saturday

(Chicago, IL)  -- The Portland Timbers seek their first win Saturday as they visit the Chicago Fire.  Portland is 0-2-and-1 on the season after a tie with Dallas this past Saturday.  The Timbers play their fi home game April 14th versus Minnesota United FC.

Seahawks' Coleman Inks Free-Agent Tender

(Renton, WA)  --  Justin Coleman is returning to the Seahawks next season.  The 24-year-old cornerback has signed his restricted free-agent tender with Seattle.  The one-year deal is worth just over 2.9-million-dollars.  Coleman had been acquired from the Patriots before last season.  He became a starter after Jeremy Lane was injured in Week Four.

Blazers Hot Finish Burn Pelicans

(New Orleans, LA) --  Damian Lillard poured in 20 of his 41 points in the final quarter as the Trail Blazers rallied to defeat the Pelicans 107-103 in New Orleans.  Jusuf Nurkic [[ u-SOOF nur-KITCH ]] contributed 21 points, 10 boards and four blocks to the victory.  Portland is 15-and-2 in last 17 games and ranks third in Western Conference with a 46-and-28 record.  The Trail Blazers continue this trip with a game tonight in Memphis.

Harkless To Have Knee Surgery

(New Orleans, LA)  --  Trail Blazers starting small forward Moe Harkless will undergo arthroscopic left knee surgery today.  No timetable has been set for his return.  Harkless had 16 points and six rebounds in the 108-105 victory Sunday at Oklahoma City, but felt discomfort in his knee.  A MRI yesterday in New Orleans detected a loose fragment in the knee.

Mariners Open Season Tomorrow

(Scottsdale, AZ)  --  The Mariners closed out the Cactus League with a 5-3 victory over the Rockies in Scottsdale.  They will open the regular season tomorrow against the Indians in Seattle.  Ichiro Suzuki went 0-for-3 with a walk and played seven innings in left field against Colorado.  He has been limited because of a right calf strain and went hitless in 10 at-bats in spring training.  The Mariners will make a decision after a workout today on whether the 44-year-old Suzuki will be ready for the start of the season or be placed on the disabled list.

Blazers Visit Pelicans

(New Orleans, LA)  --  The Blazers continue their road trip today as they visit the New Orleans Pelicans.  Portland is 45-and-28 on the season and is currently third in the West.  The Pelicans are 43-and-31 and own the fifth seed.  Tip-off is at 5 p.m.  The Blazers have nine regular season games left.

Oregon Falls To Notre Dame

(Spokane, WA)  --  The Oregon Ducks women's basketball team will not advance to the Final Four following last night's 84-74 loss to Notre Dame in the Spokane Region Final.  Sabrina Ionescu led the Ducks with 26 points in the loss.  Oregon ends the season at 33-and-5.

Kansas Edges Duke, Advances To Final Four

(Omaha, NE)  --  Malik Newman scored the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:51 left in overtime as top-seeded Kansas edged Duke 85-81 in Elite Eight action from Omaha, Nebraska.  Newman scored all 13 points in overtime for the Jayhawks and finished with 32 points overall.  Kansas moves on to face Villanova in the Final Four Saturday.  The last time Kansas went to the Final Four in San Antonio, they won a national title in 2008.  Grayson Allen missed the potential game-winning shot at the end of regulation for Duke.  The Blue Devils end the season at 29-and-8.

Villanova Downs Texas Tech, On To Final Four

(Boston, MA)  --  Top-seeded Villanova led by 13 at halftime and held on to down Texas Tech 71-59 in Elite Eight action from Boston Sunday.  Jalen Brunson keyed the Wildcats with 15 points, and Eric Paschall posted 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Villanova moves on to the Final Four for the second time in three seasons.  Keenan Evans scored a team-high 12 points for the Red Raiders in the loss.  Texas Tech ends the season at 27-and-10.  That's the program's most wins in a season since 1996.

Trail Blazers Top Thunder

(Oklahoma City, OK)  --  CJ McCollum poured in a game-high 34 points as the Trail Blazers edged by the Thunder 108-105 in Oklahoma City.  Damian Lillard added 24 points for Portland, which moved two games ahead of OKC for third place in the Western Conference.  Jusuf Nurkic had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the victory.  The Blazers will play the Pelicans tomorrow night in New Orleans.

(Undated)  --  The number-one ranked Oregon State Beavers took two-of-three from Washington in Corvallis in Pac-12 play.  OSU is 20-and-2 overall and 5-and-1 in conference.  The Oregon Ducks won two-of-three over California in Eugene.  The Ducks are 14-and-8 overall and 2-and-4 in the Pac-12.  Portland was swept in three-game weekend series at home against San Francisco in WCC play.  The Pilots dropped to 8-and-15 overall and to 2-and-4 in the conference.

Oregon, Oregon State Women Prep For Sweet 16

(Undated)  --  The Oregon women will play top-seeded Notre Dame tonight in Spokane in a NCAA Women's Elite Eight game.  The Ducks are 33-and-4 and with a victory would reach their first Final Four.  Oregon State was eliminated 76-43 by Louisville in the Elite Eight in Lexington.  The Beavers' season ended with a 26-and-8 record.

Timbers Visit Dallas Tomorrow

(Frisco, TX)  --  The Portland Timbers played FC Dallas to a 1-1 tie in a MLS game on the road.  It was the first point of the year for the Timbers, who lost their first two games.  Sebastian Blanco scored the Timbers' goal.

Blazers Host Celtics Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will try to hold onto the number three seed in the Western Conference.  Portland's 13-game winning streak ended with a 115-111 loss Tuesday to the Rockets.  The Blazers face the Celtics tonight at the Moda Center.  Boston is 48-and-23 and beat Portland 97-96 on Super Bowl Sunday.  The Thunder, who are tied for fourth in the West, will host the Blazers on Sunday.  Portland has a 44-and-27 record.  Oklahoma City checks in with a 43-and-30 mark, the same as New Orleans.  San Antonio has won five straight and is looming with a 42-and-30 record.

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Trail Blazers starting lineup made sure their winning streak continues with a 122-109 win over the Clippers at the STAPLES Center.  Portland has won 13 in-a-row to improve to 44-and-26.  Damian Lillard had a game-high 23 points as the Blazers first five scored in double figures.  C.J. McCollum and Maurice Harkless each added 21.  Jusuf Nurkic contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds.  The Trail Blazers are home tomorrow against the Rockets.

(Berkeley, CA)  --  Oregon State opened Pac-12 baseball play by sweeping a three-game series at California.  The Beavers are ranked number-one nationally with a 18-and-1 record.  Michael Gretler homered in the 6-4 victory yesterday in Berkeley.

(Undated)  --  The Oregon women's basketball team beat Minnesota 101-73 in Eugene to advance to the Sweet 16.  Oregon State is also going to the Sweet 16 after upsetting third-seeded Tennessee 66-59.  Oregon State will play Baylor on Friday.  The Ducks will play Saturday, but their opponent is to be determined.

Oregon Season Over With Loss To Marquette In NIT Second Round

(Milwaukee, WI)  --  Oregon dropped a 101-92 verdict to Marquette in Milwaukee in a NIT second-round game.  MiKyle McIntosh led the Ducks with 25 points, while Paul White added a career-best 19 points.  Oregon wound up with a 23-and-13 record.

Portland State Falls In CIT

(San Diego, CA)  --  Portland State lost 67-64 at San Diego in a CIT game at Jenny Craig Pavilion.  Tyler Williams' game-winning trey with 0.5 seconds left ended the Vikings' season.  They conclude with a 20-and-14 record.

Trail Blazers Win 11th Straight, Beat Cavaliers

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers extended their winning streak to 11 games with a 113-105 triumph over the Cavaliers in Portland.  CJ McCollum led Portland with 29 points, while Damian Lillard contributed 24 points.  The Trail Blazers conclude their homestand tomorrow against Detroit before playing the Clippers on Sunday in LA.

(Berkeley, CA)  --  Oregon State begins Pac-12 baseball play today at California.  The Beavers are ranked number-one nationally with a 15-and-1 record.  They ran away with the Pac-12 title last year with a 27-and-3 record.  All-American second baseman Nick Madrigal is out with a left wrist injury.  He is expected to miss four-to-six weeks.

Oregon Beats Rider In NIT First Round

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon rallied to defeat number-six seed Rider 99-86 in a first-round NIT game in Eugene.  Victor Bailey Junior and Payton Pritchard each scored 23 points to lead the Ducks.  Bailey hit seven-of-eight treys.  The third-seeded Ducks will play the winner of the Marquette and Harvard game.  Oregon improved to 23-and-12.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will try to extend their winning streak to 11 games when they host LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow night.  It will be Portland's fourth game of their five-game homestand.  Tipoff is 7 o'clock at the Moda Center.  The Blazers beat the Heat 115-99 on Monday.  James had 28 points, 13 boards and 11 assists in a 129-107 victory last night over the Suns.

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon is on its home floor tonight for the first round of the NIT.  The third-seeded Ducks host sixth-seeded Rider at Matthew Knight Arena, with tip-off at 7 o'clock.  Oregon was passed over for the NCAA Tournament after going 22-and-12 with a pair of wins in the Pac-12 Tournament.  The Broncs sport a 22-and-9 record.

Blazers' Lillard Western Conference Player Of The Week

(New York, NY)  --  Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is the Western Conference Player of the Week.  He helped lead Portland to a perfect 3-and-0 record against the Lakers, Knicks and Warriors while averaging a league-high 34.7 points per game.  Lillard shot 46.9-percent from the floor and 56-percent from three during that stretch.

Ducks Continue Spring Football Practice

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon's second week of spring football practice is underway.  The Ducks held their fourth practice on Monday.  Head coach Mario Cristobal says he hopes to have 80 to 90-percent of the playbook fully installed by the end of tomorrow, the last practice of the week.  Oregon resumes practice after spring break on April 3rd.

Red-Hot Blazers Host Heat Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will try to extend their winning streak to 10 games tonight when they host the Heat.  Portland has the longest active winning streak in the NBA.  The last time the Blazers had a longer winning streak was November 2013 when they won 11 straight.    The Heat have won two in-a-row and six-of-eight as they open a three-game West Coast trip.

Ducks Passed Over, Going To NIT

(Eugene, OR)  --  Oregon's season a year ago finished with a Final Four appearance in Glendale, Arizona.  This March the Ducks' 22-and-12 record was not good enough to merit a NCAA Tournament at-large bid.  Instead, Oregon is going to the NIT.  The third-seeded Ducks will host Rider tomorrow in a first-round game.  Tipoff is 7 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena.

Timbers Tumble To Red Bulls

(Harrison, NJ)  --  The New York Red Bulls shut out the Portland Timbers 4-0 in a MLS game on Saturday in Harrison, New Jersey.  The Timbers are 0-and-2 to start the season under new coach Giovanni Savarese.  The Timbers do not play their first home game until April 14th versus Minnesota United FC.  Providence Park is under renovations, which will keep the Timbers on the road for their first five games.

Oregon Spring Football Begins

(Eugene, OR)  --  New Oregon football coach Mario Cristobal had the players in full pads for a weekend practice.  He is preaching discipline as the Ducks were the most penalized FBS team last year.

Oregon State Wins, But Without Suspended Baseball Coach

(Corvallis, OR)  --  Second-ranked Oregon State beat Cal State Fullerton 5-4 yesterday to end an eight-game homestand.  The Beavers baseball team is 15-and-1.  It was their second win without coach Pat Casey.  The NCAA gave Casey a four-game suspension for making contact with umpire Mark Buchanan during the Friday 5-3 loss to the Titans.

High School Basketball Playoffs

The Bend Girls will play for a 3rd Place trophy and championship at the 5A State Tournament in Corvallis at Oregon State today at 130p when the Lady Lava Bears tangle with #5 Silverton. Bend lost in the Semifinals yesterday falling to La Salle, 40-26.

Different story for the Mt. View Boys, also in Corvallis, but the Cougars are eliminated in two games at the 5A Tourney. South Albany knocked Mt. View out yesterday in the Consolation semis beating the Cougs, 72-60. Mt. View ends its season ranked 6th with a 19-and-5 overall record.

Meantime, in Forest Grove at the Boys 4A tourney, Sisters takes a left-turn after their opening Quarterfinal game losing to top-ranked Banks, 46-38. The Outlaws meet La Grande this morning at 9am in the Consolation semifinals.
 

Red-Hot Blazers Hosting Warriors Tonight

(Portland, OR)  --  The Trail Blazers will try to extend their winning streak to nine games tonight when they host the Warriors. Tipoff is 7 o'clock at the Moda Center.  The Blazers are third in the Western Conference at 39-and-26.  Golden State won its seventh in-a-row last night, beating the Spurs 110-107.
 

Timbers Visit Red Bulls Tomorrow

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers seek their first MLS victory tomorrow as they visit the New York Red Bulls.  Portland lost to the L.A. Portland State Eliminated

(Reno, NV)  --  Portland State dropped a 78-72 decision to Eastern Washington in a Big Sky quarterfinals game in Reno.  The Vikings season ends with a 20-and-13 record.
 

Ducks Advance, Beavers Ousted

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  Oregon rallied to beat Utah 68-66 in the  Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament quarterfinals in Las Vegas.  The Ducks will face USC tonight in the semifinals.  Oregon State lost 68-48 to second-seeded USC in the quarterfinals and was eliminated from the tournament.  The Beavers conclude their season with a 16-and-16 record.

3 Prep State basketball tournaments are in full swing and underway at 3 different cities and venues.

 

6th ranked Mt. View boys turned back in opening game of the OSAA 5A State Tournament at Oregon State as the Cougars can't catch up to 3rd ranked Thurston and the Colts beat the Cougars, 70-58. The loss sends the Cougs to the Consolation Semis this morning in Corvallis at 1045 facing South Albany in a loser-out game.

 

The 5A boys semis tonight have Churchill meeting Wilsonville, and Thurston facing Crater.at the 4A tourney in Forest Grove, the Sisters boys open with top-rated Banks at 1:30.

 

Meantime, back to the 5A where today at 315, the Lady Lava Bears of Bend meet La Salle with the winner going to the Title game Friday.

Ducks, Beavers Advance With OT Triumphs

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  Oregon and Oregon State advance with first-round overtime victories in the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.  Oregon survived a scare from 11th-seed Washington State before eking out a 64-62 victory.  Payton Pritchard and MiKyle McIntosh each scored 18 points for the Ducks.  Oregon will face Utah in the late game tonight.  Drew Eubanks scored 19 points as the Beavers nipped Washington 69-66.  Tenth-seeded OSU will face USC in the quarterfinals tonight.
 

Red-Hot Blazers Hosting Warriors Tomorrow

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard drained eight threes and finished with 37 points as the Trail Blazers crushed the Knicks 111-87 at the Moda Center.  Lillard has averaged 33 points per game during Portland's eight-game winning streak.  The Blazers are third in the Western Conference at 39-and-26 and will host the Warriors on Friday.
 

Blazers Sign C Papagiannis

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers are bringing in some depth in the front court.  Portland signed 20-year-old center Georgios Papagiannis to a 10-day contract.  He was the 13th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but was waived by the Kings last month.

(Reno, NV)  --  Holland Woods put up 18 points for Portland State in a 71-67 win over Sacramento State in the first round of the Big Sky tournament in Reno.  Bryce Canda added 16 points and nine boards for the Vikings.  PSU takes on third-seeded Eastern Washington tomorrow in the quarterfinals.

 

Pac-12 Tournament Tips Off Tonight

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  Both Oregon and Oregon State take the court tonight in Las Vegas as the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Tournament begins.  The Ducks are the six-seed and meet Washington State.  The Beavers are the 10-seed and face Washington.  If the Ducks win, they'll face Utah tomorrow.  If OSU wins, they'll battle USC.
 

High School Basketball Playoffs

The 5A Girls State Basketball Tournament opens up today in Corvallis on campus at Oregon State at Gill Coliseum, and the IMC Champion and 6th ranked Bend Lady Lava Bears take on #3 Central this evening at 630.

Both teams are 21-and-4 on the season, and you can hear the streaming audio broadcast from the OSAA network online at ‘OSAA dot Org.’
The winner meets the winner of Crater and #2 La Salle in the Semifinals on Thursday afternoon.

Tomorrow night…the Mt. View boy’s face 3rd rated Thurston in the opening round of the 5A boy’s side of the Tournament, also at OSU. The IMC Champion Cougars lost to Thurston in the preseason last December,
75-68.

The 5A Tournament runs through Friday while the 4A Tournament tips off Thursday at 130 in Forest Grove with the boy’s team from Sisters tangling with top-ranked Banks.

Lillard Carries Blazers Past Lakers

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Damian Lillard lifted the Trail Blazers past the Lakers 108-103 with 39 points in Los Angeles.  Lillard clinched Portland's 15th straight win against Los Angeles by scoring 19 in the fourth quarter.  C.J. McCollum chipped in 22 points, while Jusuf Nurkic piled up 16 and 16 rebounds for the Blazers, who have won seven straight.  Portland is the third seed in the Western Conference with a 38-and-26 mark.  The Blazers host the Knicks tonight.

Timbers Staying On Road

(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers will try to rebound from a season-opening loss when they play Saturday at the New York Red Bulls.  Sebastian Blanco scored the Timbers' goal in a 2-1 loss Sunday at the LA Galaxy.

Portland State Opens Big Sky Play Tonight

(Reno, NV)  --  Portland State will meet Sacramento State in a first-round Big Sky Conference tournament game tonight in Reno.  The Vikings take a 19-and-12 overall record and 9-and-9 in the Sky into the tournament.  Sacramento State bested Portland State twice during the regular season.  If the fourth-seeded Vikings win, they would play Eastern Washington on Thursday.

It’s Tournament time for Prep basketball and just 3 teams locally are left standing.Mt. View and Sisters boys teams join the Bend girls for a shot at a blue Title trophy.
 
Mt. View defeated Crescent Valley in overtime Saturday on the east side, 88-81 to advance to the Elite-8 where the Cougars will face #3 Thurston Thursday night at 630 at Gill Coliseum.

The Outlaws from Sisters open the 4A Tournament Thursday at 130 in Forest Grove facing top-ranked Banks. And, the Bend Girls take on
3rd ranked Central Thursday night at 630 in Corvallis.

NCAA Basketball

The Oregon women’s team won the Pac-12 League Championship, and last night in Seattle, the Lady Ducks backed that up by claiming the League Tournament Championship beating Stanford by twenty, 77-57.

Oregon wins its first ever Tournament Title after Stanford had won 12 of the last 16 League titles .Oregon heads to the NCAA Tournament 30-and-4 overall. Oregon will know its fate when the Tourney field is announced one week from today.

Meantime, Oregon State was knocked out in the Tournament quarterfinals by Arizona State Friday night losing, 57-51. The Beavers may still get an invite to the big dance.

The Pac-12 men’s regular season ended over the weekend and The Ducks finish 6th.  Oregon, 20-and-11 overall, faces Washington State in Vegas at the new T-Mobile arena Wednesday night at 8:30.

Oregon State is on the same side of the bracket and takes on Washington, before the Ducks game.  Arizona won the League crown and gets a
first-round bye along with USC, Utah, and UCLA. The Championship is Saturday night.

The Westcoast Conference Tournament showcases its semifinals of its Tournament, also in Las Vegas, and 7th ranked Gonzaga meets San Francisco tonight at 6 on ESPN, followed by St. Mary’s battling BYU on ESPN1.

Trail Blazers Face Lakers Tonight

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Trail Blazers will meet the Lakers tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  Portland has won a season-high six straight and eight of its last nine.  C.J. McCollum tossed in 28 points in a 108-100 victory Saturday over the Thunder at the Moda Center.  The Lakers have won five in a row.  This is the third and last meeting of the season between the two teams.  Portland won the first two.

Timbers Open MLS Season With Loss

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  The Portland Timbers fell 2-1 to the LA Galaxy in their MLS opener Sunday.   Sebastian Blanco scored the Portland goal in the 66th minute.  The Timbers will be the road again Saturday, playing at the New York Red Bulls.

Trail Blazers Ablaze Late, Bump Off T'wolves

(Portland, OR)  --  Damian Lillard scored 33 points as the Trail Blazers rallied to beat the Timberwolves 108-99 Portland.  C.J. McCollum contributed 19 points to the victory.  Portland outscored Minnesota by 12 points in the final quarter to win its fifth in a row.  Karl-Anthony Towns led the T'wolves with 34 points and 17 rebounds.  Portland will host the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow night.

In the 4-A…Sisters entertains Henley today at 5 and Madras travels to top-rated Banks at 3 O’clock in the Boy’s 2nd Round, and Madras girls greet Valley Catholic at 630.

Oregon Stumbles At Washington State

(Pullman, WA)  --  Oregon fell 78-76 at Washington State in Pullman.  The defeat did severe damage to the Ducks' chances of receiving a NCAA-tournament at-large bid.  Oregon dropped to 19-and-11 overall and 9-and-8 in the Pac-12.  Elijah Brown had 18 points and Troy Brown 17 in the loss.  The Ducks wrap up the regular season tomorrow at Washington.

Washington Squeaks By Oregon State

(Seattle, WA)  --  Oregon State lost 79-77 to Washington in Seattle.  Tres Tinkle scored 22 points for the Beavers, while Stephen Thompson Junior added 19.  The Beavers are 14-and-15 overall and 6-and-11 in the Pac-12.  The Beavers head to Pullman for their regular-season finale tomorrow.

All 3 IMC Boy’s teams will play Saturday night in the OSAA 2nd Round State Playoffs, or the ‘Sweet-16’ if you will,  with the winners emerging to the State Tournament next week at Oregon State.

Both Bend and Summit grabbed 1st Round wins last night facing elimination as the Storm won on the road at Parkrose in East Portland, 55-54 and Bend ran past St. Helens at home, 65-42.

Saturday night, 6th ranked Mt. View will host #11 Crescent Valley while both Bend and Summit travel. The #9 Lava Bears play at 8th rated Churchill coached former Redmond Title winning Coach, Kelly Bokn (boke-en), and the 10th ranked Storm invade #7 South Albany.

(Portland, OR)  --  The Blazers are back in action tonight as they welcome the Timberwolves to the Moda Center.  Portland is currently tied with New Orleans for fifth in the Western Conference at 35-and-26.  Minnesota is a game-and-a-half ahead of them in third place at 38-and-26.  The Blazers have lost two-of-three against the T-Wolves this season.

Oregon Visits Washington State

(Pullman, WA)  --  Oregon closes out the regular season with a pair of games in Washington starting tonight in Pullman.  The Ducks visit Washington State.  Oregon is 19-and-10 overall and 9-and-7 in the Pac-12.  They clobbered Wazzu 84-57 on February 11th in Eugene.  The Ducks wrap up the season on Saturday at Washington.

(Seattle, WA)  --  Oregon State is in Seattle tonight to take on Washington.  The Beavers are 14-and-14 and 6-and-10 in the Pac-12.  Oregon State beat the Huskies 97-94 in double-overtime on February 11th at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.  The Beavers head to Pullman for their regular-season finale on Saturday.
